HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
we are strong. we are beautiful. we are smart. we are successful. we are powerful. we are strong.
to all my ladies out there, and by that i mean all my ladies, you are so beautiful and intelligent, and i am so proud of you, you deserve the world, you are worth it.
and to anyone who still thinks we’re inferior: we are strong, we are beautiful, we are smart, we are successful, we are strong, and we’re done being underestimated.

I am Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, of the blood of Old Valyeria. I am the dragon’s daughter. And I swear to you, that those who would harm you will die screaming.

Just saw the video of a little 9 year old being cuffed and peppersprayed because apparently she was upset and a danger to herself and her parents. I counted 8! grown ass cops not being able to calm down a crying 9 year old who was calling for her mom and dad while in the back of a police car. She was peppersprayed because she didn’t want to put her foot in the car BECAUSE SHE WAS SCARED OUT OF HER MIND.
How the fuck is someone allowed to carry a gun when they can’t think to get the mom or dad when she asked and have them sit with her so she can calm down? Or you know JUST NOT CUFF A FUCKING 9-YEAR-OLD.
Do i need to tell you what the color of her skin is? Yeah i didn’t think so, we all know already.

Latasha Harlins got her first memorial yesterday, a mural in South Los Angeles.
Latasha was shot at the age of 15 in 1991 by a Korean American convenience store owner named Soon Ja Du.
What happened ➡️ Latasha placed a bottle of orange juice in her backpack, and security footage later revealed that she had money in her hand to pay. Du confronted Latasha and physically attacked her. Latasha struck Du twice and pushed her down. As she turned to leave, Du retrieved a revolver from underneath the counter and shot Harlins in the back of the head, killing her instantly.
Du was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter, but instead of the maximum prison sentence of 16 years recommended by the jury, the trial judge sentenced Du to five years of PROBATION, 400 hours of community service, and a $500 fine.
Latasha would have been 45 this year. Her death came 13 days after the videotaped beating of Rodney King and is considered to have contributed to the 1992 Los Angeles riots. 2pac’s song “Keep Ya Head Up” was dedicated to Latasha. Rest in power. 🖤
Happy Black History Month!
