Eight friends, one dead, all of them suspicious.
Founded in 1821, Clearwater Academy, named after Sir Edward Clearwater a renounced academic, has housed many aspiring scholars. The academy prided itself in its pursuit for knowledge and discipline and carried that legacy to where our story begins, 200 years later.
Seven outsiders are lured into a secret society they didn’t want to be in by the ever charming James Montgomery. Friendships are built and a connection is shared between the friends. All felt out of place in the academy and all have found it again with the people they now see as their family… Or have they?
Secrets, lies, deceit interwoven in the past and present tells the story of these outcasts brought together by the same person who has now been found floating in the lake. Follow them as they try to discover what happened to James Montgomery and most importantly, who killed him?
James Montgomery — The Leader
Charismatic James Montgomery is the perfect example of what money and being attractive will get you in life. He sees his academic achievements as his entire personality and bases others off them as well. James might be able to wind everyone around his finger but it does not make him a nice person.
Sage Winter could be described as the perfect student; always on time, does her homework way in advance, excels in every course she takes. But nothing comes without a price. The sacrifices she makes aren’t even for herself but to distract her family from the fact that she likes women a little too much and has no interest in men.
Wren Hawthorne — The Sidekick
Wren Hawthorne is the one always a step behind. Always persistent but never in the spotlight. They’re not sure if they would even like it there. Wren is the person everyone leans on for support without giving it back and yet they never complain.
Camilla McCoy — The Femme Fatale
Camilla McCoy is the temptress of the group, the one to seduce her way into getting what she wants. She is the fearless one, always ready to fight for the others, no matter the cost.
Francis Vos —The Cursed Lover
Francis Vos is shy and quiet yet fiercely protective. He is content with the comfortable, never going out of his shell to take what he really wants.
Lucas Spencer — The Innocent
Lucas Spencer is the sweet one, always ready to cheer everyone up who needs it. He puts up a happy face despite maybe not feeling it in that moment. As sweet as Lucas is, he has an edge like everybody else.
Even within the group, Oliver Black is a loner. He does not interact much with the others but he is still happy to be a part of the society. Oliver has hidden depths, however, and they are ready to be unleashed.
Lucien Clemont — The Stoic
Lucien Clemont is often seen as rude and unbothered, maybe even bored. Lucien has a soft side to him though, one he hides behind a hard exterior to avoid getting hurt.
