As someone averse to brights, beige & pastels, this outfit is really far out of my comfort zone. The waist fits my 27 inch waist fine- not too tight & not too loose. As for the length- I’m just shy of 5'3, and it’s perfect! It’s at my knee. I bought the Dolores in a 10 because my other is in an 8 and it does err on the side of too tight, but the 10 is a little too loose. If only there were a size 9!

I thought that I would let you know what a delight your pictures are! You look great- stockings do unspeakable things to a man. Carry on, you're biggest fan.
Oh! Thank-you! ^_^
Girls slip through the diagnostic net, said Attwood, because they are so good at camouflaging or masking their symptoms. “Boys tend to externalise their problems, while girls learn that, if they’re good, their differences will not be noticed,” he said. “Boys go into attack mode when frustrated, while girls suffer in silence and become passive-aggressive. Girls learn to appease and apologise. They learn to observe people from a distance and imitate them. It is only if you look closely and ask the right questions, you see the terror in their eyes and see that their reactions are a learnt script.” Girls also escape diagnosis, said Attwood, because they are more social than boys with the condition. Their symptoms can also be missed because it is the intensity of their interests that is unusual, and not the oddity of what they do.

A word of warning if you buy from What Katie Did
I just thought I'd leave this here, I'm also making sure to now warn people via Instagram. I've found that with What Katie Did, you get treated nicely if you really like their products (I bought a girdle from them, and although it's a bit long, I like it), but if you have qualms with items of theirs, they are condescending and don't treat you well. Point in question- I bought a pair of their Glamour stockings, with 'improved' wider welt. Obviously, I checked the size chart before buying and fit perfectly within the range for the S/M (5'0-5'5; 110-140 lbs). Well, the fit was by far worse than on my uber-cheap eBay stockings. The legs were too long and the welts were too loose in my thighs. So I decided to leave a review to warn other people who are on the smaller end of the S/M chart that they might not fit. I noticed that there was a review left on another colourway of the same stockings by someone with the exact same issue as me. A couple of days later I checked the reviews again, and noticed that both mine and the other reviewer's reviews had mysteriously DISAPPEARED. I got an email to acknowledge that my review had been received (someone else read my reply and noticed it was rather condescending), with some 'advice'. It included tidbits like the following: "We currently make stockings in two sizes, which cover the vast majority of our customers size range, and are sorry to hear that our smaller size aren't small enough for you! Unfortunately we're not going to be bringing out any smaller sizes anytime soon" (well, thanks for making me feel shit about my body, even though it shouldn't be too small for your stockings!). The only 'advice' I was given was to check that I had bought the right size, to wear the stockings lower on the welt & wear my girdle higher. Unfortunately, WKD doesn't cater for a wide array of sizes, having the audacity to make their corsets for mostly those with what they call 'vintage' bodies- by which they mean ultra-curvy, tall figures, so being their non-ideal form, I already have to wear my girdle as high as it'll go. I made a suggestion on an Instagram post they made advertising their 'Glamour' stockings, suggesting that they make them in an additional size, because the wider welt stockings exclude many potential customers. Their reply- albeit a tad rude- was that they are "not excluding slim leg customers, the fit is exactly the same as our retro seams...fits better on curvy thighs" Anyway, I knew this was bullshit and told them that I had a pair of narrower-welt stockings that fit perfectly (which is true), noticed that others had left reviews about similar issues with fit and that all of these honest reviews had disappeared from their site. I got another response, saying that I was informed in the email confirming receipt of my review why my review was deleted (total bullshit, there wasn't one mention of the removal of my review). After explaining that my email mentioned nothing about removing my review, and telling them when the email was sent (so that they can check for themselves that I'm not lying), I haven't heard from them since. Again, I've rambled just to warn you- WATCH OUT IF YOU EVER BUY FROM WHAT KATIE DID, and beware of their body-shaming.
When things advise 'get rid of negative people', what it feels like they're saying is 'get rid of those in your life who are struggling with varying forms of depression that they can't help having. Aid in their feelings of total isolation & worthlessness'.

Today's #ootd -featuring my first ever #splendettestack. Thought I'd go a bit tropical, but with a touch of glitter (my tights are also sparkly). I love that my #bowandcrossbones earrings match one of my #Splendette bangles perfectly & my hair flower matches the detail on the dress. I'd been a little intimidated by bangles before because they often fall off my hand, but since discovering the smaller, maiden bangles I fell in love. Today's #ootd -I cheated today and wore hold-ups. Being from Primark, the sizing's a little off (the small should fit perfectly in leg length & width, but I think they might be made for people with bigger feet). You can buy similar from Playful Promises (I think!) The picture on the bottom right gives a better idea of the colours in the skirt & belt. Ft. Today's #ootd -also featuring my fleecy converse (which I haven't worn in a while). The starry brooch is because I went to see Rogue One. I made myself wear some stockings (although my girdle now is too big & rides down a tad!) Fun fact: when I was little, there was a period when Father Christmas made me cry (somewhere there's photographic evidence). As a result, I was scared of people with beards (apart from wizards) up until my mid- late teens.
It's finished! There'll be more pictures to come at some point. It's the first thing I've made on my own & I'm pretty chuffed with it ☺ #vintage #retro #DIY #sewing #handmade
