But Fitz anger and turn on Radcliffe (and Agnes) makes more sense now that there is confirmation that Fitz's dad ABUSED him. He HIT the sympathy out of him. So naturally when someone else says they looked at him 'like a son' his mind would say they want to hit him. And he wasn't gonna let anyone hurt him again now that he's grown.

As soon as his name popped up in the credits I thought of this.
Who else was loving the Coulson-Simmons bonding in this episode? He brought her into the spy game way back in Season 1, and now sheâs introducing a new him to their world again. Like just how much she quietly indulged him in his total excitement! Only cutting him off when absolutely necessary. Oh, you think itâs cool that youâre meeting âthe Patriotâ? Pfft, you are the one HE answers to in our world. You think this little quinjet is cool? Pfft, your plane is bigger and so much better! Iâll just sit here and listen to you talk about all the cool features of your robotic hand that Daisy told you about, but my boyfriend built for you. Oh, you believe Hydra is using mind controlling soap? Umm, okay, not the weirdest thing weâve had to deal with though⊠Just trust me, you are awesome. And how, after one day, ONE DAY, knowing they have a history he doesnât even remember, he follows her completely. He backs her play for how things should go over his secret idol, and over a clearly deadly, experienced spy. He steps out into the open during a fire fight relying on muscle memory to fire back and protect her. Without fully knowing her, he can read the devastation on her face over what they witnessed. He deflects and acts as her shield giving her time to process at the base, after PHYSICALLY shielding her from a spray of bullets aimed their way. The Coulson-Simmons relationship is one of the most understated and beautiful relationships in this show. (Which is freaking saying something!) Itâs never thrown in your face, or continually highlighted, like Coulson-Skye/Daisy or May-Skye/Daisy or even Skye/Daisy-FitzSimmons. The Coulson-Simmons relationship is in quiet glances over four seasons. And man do I LOVE that itâs still all here in the subtlety. Anyone agree?

The writing process is a bumpy slide ride of thoughts - this is great, this is shit, this might be salvageable, this is doomed, this might be okayâŠbut we write again anyway. And each time you think youâll be more confident and each time you arenât!

I would love to know how itâs also doing in the international market. Namely Australia, personally.Â
BUT WAIT, there has been no legal means to watch this show since NOVEMBER! As far as the people in Australia are concerned Fitz and Coulson are still missing after the flash of light, along with Ghost Rider, at the lab.Â
No word from the network with the distribution rights here (Channel Seven) as to when itâs returning to our free to air programming. No word from iTunes as to why people who have bought a season pass (thatâs right already PAID for it) are SIX EPISODES behind the American broadcasting. NOTHING!
While this is beyond annoying, how can there be an accurate assessment of interest when this is happening? There are a number of reasons(excuses) that I could find (annoying but) acceptable, but there are none being given. NONE. Iâm not sure whoâs butt needs a kicking for an explanation to be given but weâre left waiting.
Day 25-
Fitz didn't think he could feel anymore scared than when he had watched Jemma being swallowed by that rock on the monitor, so many months ago. But he was wrong.
Oh he was so very wrong.
Time at the hospital blurred into a series distinct moments.
Arrival. He remembered them arriving at the hospital. Snapping at the Director and the relief in Jemma's face when he said he wasn't letting her out of his sight.
The birth was all a blur. He'd been separated from Jemma so he could be put in medical scrubs and sanitised. The sounds of Jemma screaming would haunt his nightmares for months (if not years) to come. Then he was next to her, feeling useless as he held her hand, giving her words of comfort and not able to do anything else just before she was drugged and taken to emergency surgery. Why the hell couldn't he do anything to help her?Â
The next moment he can actually remember is when he saw her for the first time. She was just so small. And red. And wrinkly. And covered in things he'd rather not think about. And squirming in a wild and jerky movement. And he couldn't take his eyes off her. She was perfect. Like he could expect any different from Jemma, but stillâŠ
When the cry escaped her tiny lips Fitz felt his world reduced to just her. She had Jemma's nose, he couldn't help but notice.
His heart swelled and in that instant he knew there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for this tiny squirming person before him.

FitzSimmons Advent
Day 24-
"I'm in love with you, Leopold Fitz. I have been for longer than I think I could ever really admit. Especially to myself."
Fitz held her face in both his hands, tears glistening in his eyes; a smile dancing on his lips.
"I love you," he breathes. "I'm in love with you, Jemma Simmons."
His next words are cut off by her lips clashing into his, both pouring all their joy at the other's words into the kiss. Her tongue ghosted across his lips asking for entrance which he gladly gave. Her arms snaked around his waist pulling them flush against each other as one kiss turned into another, then another. Fitz's left hand dropped to her back and held her close.
When they finally separated gasping for breath both their faces were split with unflinching smiles.
"Do you think that broke the curse?" Jemma asked, a tease dancing in her eye. Fitz just looked her dazed till she clarified, "Isn't true love's kiss supposed to break curses?"
Fitz laughed. His first real, true laugh in possibly years.
"True love?"
"Do you really think we could be anything else?"
"No," he agreed, pulling her in for a quick kiss. "Definitely true love."
Jemma bit her lip around her grin.
"MaybeâŠ" A blush rose on her cheeks and Fitz's brow crinkled in question at her look. "Maybe we should really make sure the curse is broken."
Another laugh bubbled out of Fitz as he nodded eagerly at Jemma's suggestion until it was cut off by her lips.

Day 23-
Coulson reached down and helped Fitz back to his feet.
"So, if you think I'm going to leave this place without him having two black eyes and a broken jaw; you've got another thing coming."
"I wasn't having an affair," Fitz defended himself. "I swear on anything and everything that could be considered sacred. That's not what was happening!"
"Oh, so what other reason was there for another woman to be walking around your apartment in nothing but one of your shirts? After 10 at night? Huh? Let's hear the excuse you've had months to come up with!"
Hunter pushed against the crowding agents attempting to get in Fitz's face. The group may be shocked, but they remained protecting their own.
"It'sâŠit's a bit complicated," Fitz finally said in answer to Hunter.
"Complicated," Hunter scoffed. "That's just a men in suits excuse when they don't want to say that they were in the wrong. I can't believe I thought you actually deserved her."
Hunter continued to insult and try goad Fitz from behind the wall of agents that were now taking Hunter into custody. For disturbing the peace they told anyone who asked; not many did. They were nearly all the way to the secret entrance before Hunter got a shot in that caused a flare in Fitz's ire.
"Here's to hoping Jemma has a girl, though. God forbid there's another Fitz boy who ends up exactly like his father."
Fitz launched himself at Hunter and the guards escorting him. Anticipating the move Hunter ducked out the guard who was holding him and landed a harsh blow to Fitz's face. Fitz went into the wall before he hit the ground and stayed down.
FitzSimmons Advent
Day 22- Jemma knew the best way to snap him out of this kind of ramble. She leaned forward and kissed him deeply. He gave a small noise of surprise before it transformed into a moan. When she pulled back she could see the daze in his blue eyes that melted her heart every time. âWard did an amazing thing, yes,â she conceded. She pecked his lips to stop the argument she could see in his eyes from escaping his lips. And, just to be safe, she punctuated each sentence after with a kiss. âBut it wasnât award by my side in that lab searching for a cure. It wasnât Ward giving me hope when I had none.â It wasn't Ward that has made her question the very life sheâd been raised in and made her completely confused and questioning everything. Not that she could tell Fitz <i>that</i>. Not yet. âIt was you. Youâre the hero.â âYeah?â Fitz asked, his unfounded insecurities shining in his eyes. âYeah,â she said with all the conviction she could put into the one word. âThank you.â He nodded jerkily. Jemma caught his face in her hands and gave him another long kiss. âI love you,â she breathed across his lips when they parted. His arms tightened around her waist. âI love you too.â

Day 21-
Daisy felt her throat tighten as a spike of longing zapped through her. She did miss her mini-FitzSimmons. Eyes as blue as his father's that always looked at her with complete trust and unconditional love. A smile as bright and welcoming as his mum's that easily gave way to bubbly and infectious laughter, in the way only the young and innocent can. A mop of curly brown hair that would often come flying towards her for a bear-hug that felt like he was literally pulling her broken pieces back together.
"He doesn't stop telling stories about you and your adventures together to his baby sister," Bobbi added her tone as calculatedly calm as Fitz's as she moved to stand next to the scientist.
It took a moment for Bobbi's words to sink in.
"Sister?" Daisy practically whispered.
"Yeah," Fitz laughed. "Jem and I have a daughter now; she's eighteen months old. Thank goodness she has Jemma's temperament. You remember what a nightmare it was with Jake?"
Tears burned behind her eye as her mind took her back to when Jake had just been born. He'd screamed the base down near constantly. Everyone took turns pacing the corridor with him after Jemma had practically broken down and blamed Fitz for giving their son his grumpy Scottish temperament. Much to everyone's surprise, and Jemma's delight, the baby calmed the best in either Daisy's or May's arms. As he got older if the boy wasn't with either of his parents he most often was found around the base following either the trainee specialist or her SO. (The only exemption was 'naptime' in Papa Coulson's office.)
"Come home, Skye."
"That's not my name," she choked out. Fitz looked at her confused.
FitzSimmons Advent
Day 20-
"Hate to interrupt," her mum butted into the conversation and put an arm around Jemma, "but I have to steal Jemma away. There are some other people who have come a long way to meet with her tonight. Can't have you wasting her time Mitchell."
Once the man and his crude conversation were left behind Jemma let out a sigh. God, why was she working with people who didn't have two brain cells to rub together?
"Be careful of your own feelings Jemma," her mother warned her softly. "I know how to read past the mask I taught you. Your feelings for the boy are becoming too strong. If you aren't careful he could be viewed as a weakness- or a liability."
"He's too brilliant of an engineer for anyone with any intelligence to think killing him would be worth it," she dismissed her mum's concern. "It's an intellectual collaboration between us. Nothing more. At most I consider him a good close friend- that I'm keeping a life changing secret from," she couldn't stop from finishing bitterly.
"JemmaâŠ"
"Don't let them order me to sleep with him," she whispered. "I can keep these feeling separate, but having sex would blur those lines too much. For him⊠and⊠and for me."
"Are you falling for him?"
"I could," she softly confessed to her mum.
She pushed away that nagging feeling that had been growing the more time she spent around Fitz to the side; the feeling that maybe she already was falling for him.

Day 19-
"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Hunter pipped up, breathing heavily through his own fright reaction.
Fitz panted through his tears and the other agents all looked at him in concern.
"I'm sorry. I won't give up. I can't give up," he gasped out, barely fighting off his tears.
"None of us want to, Fitz," Skye agreed, her pain at this-both the reminder of her missing friend and the desperation of her friend before audible. "But-"
"Our first mission in the field, sir." Coulson looked at Fitz confused. Fitz ran a hand through his hair, his exhaustion making him struggle to articulate his thoughts. "Our first mission you- you said⊠you said; not to ever tell you there's no way. It's on us; Get. It. Done. That's- thatâs what I'm doing. I'm-I'm getting it done. I can't give up. Not on her. Never on Jemma."
FitzSimmons Advent
Day 18-
"But it's been months," Coulson incredulously pointed out.
"Yeah," Fitz quickly agreed.
"She could be long gone from wherever this thing dropped her."
"Yeah."
"She could be dead."
"No." Fitz bit back strongly. "She isn't. She couldn't be."
"Fitz-"
"I know she isn't."
"How?" Mack pressed gentle but resolute. "How can you say that with confidence, Turbo? There's an abundance of evidence that points otherwise."
"Because his soulmark hasn't stopped aching, has it?" Bobbi pipped up.
The silence in the office thickened at her words.
"Jemma's your soulmate, so you know that wherever this portal-wormhole-vortex-thing has taken her, she's still alive."
FitzSimmons Advent
Day 17-
"Why? Afraid it will make me think less of you? Because, I'm not sure I could at the moment," Skye answered tersely.
"No, because you wouldn't fully understand the importance of what I'd be explaining, or have the clearance to know the truth," Jemma snapped back, letting herself become bitter. "I know who I am. I know what I've done. I struck a deal and I will have to live with the consequences of that. However long or short my life will be. So either get Fury or Coulson for me to give that answer that to, or leave that question alone, Skye."
"They're both too busy interviewing your boss Garret to come for this."
"Garret?" Jemma laughed. "He isn't my boss. He's a crazed, narcissistic, blithering idiot! A demi-god in Ward's eye," she said with a roll of her eyes, "but certainly not my boss. He splintered himself and his men from Hydra, regardless. They would be better blowing him into small pieces honestly."
FitzSimmons Advent
Day 16-
"Why are you betraying SHIELD?" she jumps in finishing his thought and question. Anger laced her words at how this was rattling his hard fought confidence.
"Phil Coulson has no right to call this SHIELD," the older agent snaps.
"No right?" Jemma interrupts. "We've been fighting Hydra! We haven't been hiding from allies! We weren't the ones who turned their backs on friends when they needed them. I sent agents to location after location where you might have gone." Weaver's eyes remain distant and cool.
"I needed you!" Jemma chocks out. "I had trusted you andâŠ" she swallows back the sob that tried to escape her throat. "And when I needed you most you were hidden away avoiding us? May and Coulson did the best they could. I had to give May full disclosure by myself from my own hospital bed." Fitz places his hand on her knee in both apology and silent support.
