Jonathan Groff's performance at the Lexington Theatre Company's debut show. Part one. January 10th, 2015.
Okay but LITERALLY this was the exact moment that almost resulted in my death.
At 2:15 (“I found a woman I love”) when he scans the front row and then waves to someone?
THAT WOULD BE ME.
And then I got a “Heyyyyy you!” and a hug backstage.
HE IS THE BEST. The best.

Lancaster’s Broadway babies talk about success, hard work and being in a big show
Jonathan Groff, Catherine Walker and Eliseo Roman have a lot of things in common.
All three were born and raised in Lancaster County, caught the performing bug early in their lives and had supportive families that helped them reach their goal of becoming working actors.
They all appeared at local theaters like The Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, Ephrata Performing Arts Center and the Fulton Theatre, though they never worked on a show together.
And right now, they are all starring in Broadway shows.

“Running of the interns outside the Supreme Court 6/26/2015″
RUN INTERNS, BRING THE GOOD NEWS TO THE PEOPLE, hol y shit i did nto fucking realize. this happens.,vine.
LET ME FURTHER ELABORATE ON THE HILARITY OF THE BEST AMERICAN POLITICAL PRACTICE TO EXIST, “THE ANNUAL RUNNING OF THE INTERNS”:
RECORDINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE U.S. SUPREME COURT. SO WHEN A DECISION IS MADE, COPIES ARE HANDED TO MEMBERS OF THE PRESS INSIDE THE BUILDING IN A PRESS ROOM WHO THEN LEAVE THEIR ROOM TO HAND THE COPIES OF THE RULING TO THEIR INTERNS (WHO AREN’T ALLOWED INSIDE THE PRESS ROOM)
(PICTURED: INTERNS FROM 2013, WAITING FOR THEIR RUN)
AND THEN THE INTERNS HAVE TO DELIVER THE COURT RULINGS WHILE THE JUSTICES ARE ANNOUNCING THEIR DECISION INSIDE THE COURTROOM ITSELF.
SO THE INTERNS RUN THROUGH THE SUPREME COURT BUILDING FROM OUTSIDE THE PRESS ROOM TO OUTSIDE, ACROSS THE PAVED WALKWAYS, AND DOWN THE STAIRS OF THE COURTHOUSE AREA INTO THE BROADCASTING PRESS PEN IN THE STREET.
(A PREVIOUS YEAR’S INTERN RUN WINNER)
INTERNS ARE TOLD THEY MAY TO THROW SOME ELBOWS IF NECESSARY.
AND ALL ARE RACING TO BE THE FIRST TO DELIVER THE COURT RULINGS TO THEIR RESPECTIVE BROADCASTERS WHO ARE WAITING TO GO ON AIR
PICTURED IN FRONT IS YESTERDAY’S INTERN WINNER LAUREN WHO SAID SHE “JUST LIKED TO WIN” WHEN SHE PULLED CLEAR AHEAD TO DELIVER THE OBAMACARE RELATED DECISION.
KEEP IN MIND THE DECISIONS READ ON THE BENCH ARE POSTED ONLINE A FEW MINUTES LATER SO THIS WHOLE PROCESS CURRENTLY EXISTS BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO WAIT THAT LONG.
TRULY A GREAT AND HILARIOUS AMERICAN TRADITION.
Jonathan Groff may have been away from Broadway for a while, but this season he is taking the musical theatre community by storm. This spring he appeared in The Public Theater's breakthrough production of HAMILTON as King George III, a role he will follow to Broadway later this summer. He also appeared in a sold-out concert event of HOW TO SUCCEED, performed at London's Royal Festival Hall. Now, Groff is taking on the role of 'Gordon' in A NEW BRAIN, as part of ENCORES! Off-Center series. During a break in rehearsals, Groff chatted with BroadwayWorld about everything A NEW BRAIN, upcoming HAMILTON rehearsals, making his long-awaited Broadway return and so much more. Check out the full interview below and don't forget to catch Groff in the Encores! Off-Center production of A NEW BRAIN, running June 24-27, 2015.
Sonder: The realization that each passerby has a life as vivid and complex as your own.
Opia: The ambiguous intensity of Looking someone in the eye, which can feel simultaneously invasive and vulnerable.
Monachopsis: The subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place.

Don’t let the world define you. In the world of acting, and I think in any profession really, people are really eager to put you in a box and categorize you as one particular thing. Make sure that you always follow your heart and your gut, and let yourself be who you want to be, and who you know you are. And don’t let anyone steal your joy.
