This applies double for jobs like childcare. I don’t know whose brilliant idea it was, at least in the US, to make healthcare workers do 12 hour shifts. But that person about to give me an epidural? I would prefer they weren’t on hour 11 of their shift. Same with the person giving me meds, reading my chart, etc. Same with the person watching my kids and make sure they don’t stick a fork in a wall socket or start climbing bookcases.

Science says that the average human being can be productive for 6 hours a day. After that, their productivity declines. I’m not saying they get tired and start slacking. I’m not saying they go for an extended coffee break or switch to easier busywork. I’m saying their brain starts shutting down. This isn’t about willpower or work ethic. This is about the fact we’re all apes being forced into positions we didn’t evolve for and we weren’t really designed for. Our current way of doing things is a series of square holes that we’re supposed to jam our round pegged selves into. And it’s all to serve the ultra rich and ultra elite, so they can continue to live their lavish lifestyles, even though most of them haven’t put in a full day’s work in their lives.

At some point in your life, you were taught that being slightly annoying is an unforgivable sin. Maybe it was by your parents or a teacher or a friend or a bully or an older sibling. But someone taught you that being slightly annoying is a crime punishable by death.

You must unlearn this.

You must accept that all people will be annoying at some point or another in their lives, maybe all of their lives, and that this is okay. It is okay for strangers on the bus, it is okay for children in the grocery store, it is okay for people on social media, and it is okay for you.

If you ever want to truly love your fellow humans, if you ever want to truly love yourself, you must have forgiveness for being annoying.

zoomers i am going to give you some fathrly advice: really plucked brows are coming back. dont do it. you cn permanently fuck them up and in 5 yrs when its not on trend you will look like shit. a groomed natural brow works in every era of fashion theres lots of ways to comb and style brows to trend without mangling them. im just saying this as someone who saw what happened to 80s moms who went crazy wth the tweezers
