I've been waiting all year! From July 26th - August 1st I am out of town with my best friend and her family at a lake house they rented!
My phone is old as hell and janky so I don't have tmblr or disco and I won't be on my laptop much (I'm posting this at 1:12 am on Monday and we arrived Saturday around 7:00 pm).
I'm having a problem logging into my other account because of my laptop having the emails connected to my old phone that died from water (Karen has been impossible to log into) so I'll try to share this to the other accounts I can!
A haystack? Was that really the best insult she could come up with? Haymitch was almost disappointed. Being from the Capitol, werenโt insults supposed to roll naturally from the tongue? Though, he supposed โhaystackโ wasnโt too far off from his actual name. It did earn a chuckle from him at most.. perhaps the alcohol once again making everything so much more amusing. โAnd whatโre you?โ The question was rhetorical. Haymitch had already made up his mind on what she was.
โA Capitol bum?โ She sure fit the description right down to the cotton candy looking poof on her head. โSend them all to the slaughter!โ He mimicked her voice as best he could, another round of laughter following. Then, mockingly, he gave her a slow once over. โTell me, Effie.. do you take part in the endless parties after each game?โ It was disgusting to celebrate the death of children. And the Capitol had the nerve to them animals.
Admittedly, Effie had been good to him. She seemed like she genuinely wanted to help.. still, he couldnโt bring himself to fully trust her.
Her expression slacked and lips pursed at his rhetorical question; here came his accusatory notions about her Capitol living. Quite early for the rant as it wasn't even breakfast yet, but the flask in his hand always sped up Haymitch's itinerary of looking like a fool.
"'Endless parties'? Is that all you think they are?" She scoffed -- so typical of an outer districter to assume and critic the life they hadn't grown up in -- which she clearly didn't do. Was it her fault he was born into so poor a district they rarely had a celebration with buffet tables? No! Yet here he was mimicking her with terrible acting. Her accent was no wear near as nasal or tone deaf!
"Maybe if you actually attended one you'd see it isn't all confetti and gladhanding! You're lucky your victory tour even counted as one with as few appearances as you made." Eulogies didn't count in her opinion; those were more frosting on a cake and not the confection itself. His prep team, Plutarch and Effie were forced to use any moment to spread the visage of an aloof, grieving, heavy is the head that wears the crown victor to hide the actual, lazy, couldn't-be-bothered truth that was Haymitch.
Ken gasped. "You know what, they do when they beach." He recalled the beach he and Barbie first went to and the amount of people who did rollerblade. "Their outfits were pretty boring though. Nobody was matching and there was so little pink - that's my main concern."
หหโน ๊ฃเง โ"Sometimes beach is the only place it truly feels like Barbieland." She nodded sagely. The brightness of outfits and rollerblading, horseback riding on the beach, sandcastles and children playing with actual toys -- a haven for dolls like them.
"It gets worse then a lack of pink . . ." She whispered with the horror of revealing a terrible truth. She couldn't let him go on not knowing! "Some people think wearing pink is --" Kelly looked away dramatically, but struggled through, " -- bad!"
Reblog if youโre a roleplayer who suffers from anxiety
Sometimes, itโs not a lack of muse or short attention span or lack of time. Sometimes weโre too afraid to write out the reply we had in mind in fear itโs inadequate or written too fast. Then we send replies days, or even weeks, later that we had thought out in our mind since the beginning.ย
"I know the advice you will give."ย Yenna frowned deeper without looking toward the higher ranked jedi. Her legs had been swinging anxiously where she sat, but heels thudded against the temple's stone siding. The pinnacle was as high as she could go without crawling atop the dome. It took some meddling to bypass the invisible barriers shielding the windows from anything physical entering or exiting as well as maintaining the carefully controlled environment. The room was bright at present, as if the planet's sunlight shone through, but it was blocked by the shields as well to keep the sacred texts from its harsh effects.
Yenna ensured the barrier scanned back into place after crawling out to sit on the ledge so the internal environment wasn't disturbed. Accidentally destroyed the most sacred belongings to the Order was not what a Jedi wanted their life to go down in history for.
"I think more clearly in higher altitudes." Something the tall structures and mountains in Dathomir taught her in youth, "but it isn't working today."
It was far too early in the morning to be dealing with this bullshit. There went his plans of sleeping away his hangover for the whole day. Hell, now he needed another drink just to deal with her.
Before Haymitch could stop her, Effie had already entered his bedroom, whirling through the compartment with the grace of a newly formed hurricane. Her shenanigans alone had the muscles in his jaw clenching. โOh Iโve learned somethinโ alright.. and itโs that Iโm at my wits end! GET OUT!โ His demand was slurred, drink from the previous night still flooding his system. Heโd really overdone it this timeโ even by his standard.
Watching her prowl his room made him dizzy, his body swaying just slightly until a hand shot out to steady him against the nearest wall. How somebody possessed this much energy this early in the morning was beyond him. And clearly she wasnโt listening to him. That was fine. Haymitch had stopped listening to her rambling the minute she barged in.
With cabinets and wardrobes he hadnโt even cared to uncover appearing from every which direction, Haymitch turned his focus to more important matters. โWhereโs my..โ Free hand blindly searching for the half empty flask he kept stashed away at the side of his bedโ a smirk curled at his lips when his fingers made contact.
โYโknow darlinโ, you really need to take it down a notch.โ An eyebrow shooting upwards, Haymitch unscrewed the flaskโs lid and took a nice long swig of his beloved whiskey. โAnd if youโre done, the doorโs that way. Because whatever meeting youโre here to whisk me away to? Iโm. Not. Going.โ The President himself would have to drag him there.
Effie ignores his impudent demands or suggestions as usual. A flare of nostrils is her only acknowledgement at the would be-endearment. 'Darling' isn't restricted to her -- as if she'd ever want that, GROSS, -- the tone is always insulting. He can call her worse, but she doubts an original thought has ever entered his head besides throwing an ax at the arena barrier.
With a press of one button the drawers close as one. Effie matches his punctuation, unperturbed by his status and rank as a Victor and her... rather aggressive behavior could land her in trouble as a mere Panem citizen: "You! Are such! A haystack!" She's never seen one up close, but they always look upkept and held together by unstable looking twine. It seems a fitting insult at present.
"Widows work alone that's true, but what is all that training with other together," when they weren't picking each other off by force of manipulation and cruelly pressed survival, "if not to work in tandem every once in a while? You can always call for help too."
โย ย itโsย fourย oโclockย inย theย morning ,ย ย damnย it !!ย ย โ โ From Haymitch for Effie!
Of course she knew what time it was; who was it that got him to every appointment on time? Who worked as a walking alarm clock for this mopey victor?
"Fashion waits for NO TIME !!" She shooed him back from the compartment's sliding door instead of waiting to be invited inside. Effie belonged everywhere, invitation or no. "Have you learned nothing in our time together?"
Her blonde hair was shorter than the day before, lightly curled and half pinned back since it was, as he so kindly pointed out, early in the morning. Effie's fully glamourous look wouldn't be applied until after morning caffeine. Well, second cup.
With slender hands on her hips, she swept the room with critical gaze in hopes of finding something redeeming, whatever that would be. "As if those poor tributes outfits aren't outdated enough . . ." she muttered; they look like Mags on her first day in the arena." It was her third year pitching for updated looks for the children, but the fashion council remained tacky as always.
Pressing a button to activate an inset cabinet installed on the wall under the window, a drawer slid out soundlessly. Every article of clothing was as neatly pressed and folded as when a presumed avox placed it in. "As I suspected!!" She reacted like he was hiding contraband goods. "Not a single thing touched!" Activating other drawers only brought more disappointment in the form of neatly arranged shoes and accessories. "And I hand picked this for you! Ugh!"
Effie massaged her temples with closed eyes, cracking her jaw and exhaling with barely-managed calm. "What is the point of being a victor's stylist when your talents are so carelessly wasted?" Thank goodness she wasn't an escort or worse, a mentor, or she'd have to spend double the amount of time with Haymitch and his soot covered attitude.
