I’m really proud of myself—I didn’t stop for junk food.
I’ve been feeling a lot of anxiety about work, and I really wanted to grab a doughnut and a bagel. Just something to temporarily quiet the stress, to ease the tightness in my chest, even if only for a moment.
But I know I would regret it afterward. The stress wouldn’t actually go away. Eating sugar won’t make work any less stressful—it’s only temporary, and it never really lasts.
