OK, so I decided to make a bookish “Tag” to kind of introduce myself here. I found it on one of the booktube channels I watch and ... yeah Would you rather... 1. Read only trilogies or stand alones?    - Trilogies. I would go mad if I only get one book per world.. nope. 2. Read only female or male authors?    - Female, but I rarely pay attention to the author as I pick the book unless I discover it bc of the author. 3. Shop at Barnes & Noble or Amazon?    - Amazon. I love bookstores (I live in finland so no b&n) and I do spend a loot of time in them.. However, I am poor so I gotta go with the cheaper option 4. All books become movies or t.v. shows?   - Shows bc movies just can’t put all the details in it. It is impossible. Like in THG there was no Madge or the major, I’m not even starting with Divergent. Still lowkey mad that Uriah wasn’t in the first movie 5. Read 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?    - 5 books per week. 6. Be a professional reviewer or author?    - Author. 7. Only read your top 20 favorite books over and over or always read new ones that you haven't read before?    - New ones. I have 28 books on to-read list atm and it just keeps growing 8. Be a librarian or book seller?    - Book seller. 9. Only read your favorite genre, or every genre except your favorite?    - I don’t really read out of scifi/fantasy so I gotta pick the first option 10. Only read physical books or eBooks?   - I have to say eBook bc for some reason I read more on my phone. I think it’s bc I often read right before I go sleep and I don’t have a reading light or anything so phone just is easier for me. But I still would buy the physical copy just bc I just love them.

being a writer is staring at your computer screen for half an hour and then getting up to get coffee and snacks because writing is stressful

and 3 cups of coffee later you realize you haven’t eaten anything so all the caffeine is making you shake and unable to focus so you give up for the day

Some basic info about the book I’m writing

Based on the quick (and I mean quick) google research the genres and sub-genres I could possibly put the novel under is

Main genres

Fantasy : It contains a LOT of magical things, for example, the protagonist is not a human. In fact in the main group, only one is human.

Sci-fi : the story is set in an alternative-timeline and while the first book doesn’t exactly have a fancy technology, the rest of them will have.

Other ones I am not so sure about

Dystopia : A bit iffy about this one because the story isn’t in the future... and only partially negative (magic folk)

Magical realism : the magic is in our world in our time

Lost world/Mythical kingdoms :....welp got both. (blog name should tell enough ppl)

Myths : It has a lot of different mythologies and folklores which I’m giving own twist into. Like the protagonist

LGBTQ : No-one is straight... Well maybe few. Straights are minor.

I have lost my plot point cards….. for all 3 books… because of the room move I had.

After small breakdown I’m doing new ones but I really hate this 😭

Can I die?

Update: it ended up being a good thing that I lost them 😂 I got better skeleton for the first book done since I had all the main points in my head.

Tip 2

I have been building up and will continue building a youtube playlist for background music that I personally use to keep my focus.

I don’t know if I’m alone with this but for some reason, I get extremely self-aware when I’m writing and I hear the clicking. Here is My Playlist. Feel free to use it <3 -Emi

Personal tip no.1

Recently I have had a lot of struggles with getting myself to write. I haven’t done too much of progress in the books and it is eating me up.

While some of the issues have been about my personal life, most of it is simply me staring at the blank page.

Things that have helped me at least a little

• http://writeordie.com you can set your own goals on it and it gives this awful siren noise if you are taking too long to continue.

• a background music. Not songs where is singing, but a gaming background music. Personally, I have listened to Warframe soundtrack because it works for me. - Also, I realized that it is harder for me to write without the music because I can hear the typing sound and with anxiety, my mind keeps telling me that it bothers my family for whatever reason.

• jugging. At least for me personally I got inspiration when I’m in nature.

• Pinterest. I have own private folder there where I have own sub-folders for species and main characters that matter. Pinterest has also helped me with creating the characters and giving me prompts
