Day Two - Speak
“Speak low if you speak love.”
I really want to do a Much Ado About Nothing AU at some point, but that’s for the future. For now, this is my annual European-costume-inspired Zutara piece, featuring lazy brocade
@zutaraweek
someone called sokka “prince of the southern water tribe” and so naturally, I wanted to draw him in fancy water tribe prince clothes…the takeaway: beads and braids in his hair, floof cape, pierCINGS (also on twitter)
I really like The Dragon Prince’s designs. Janai is great !
Quick Frozen edit. Simply wanted to give the girls more of their dad’s features.
More Face Edits + Same thing but Briar Rose
Sammahtehllama made wonder what Aurora might have looked like if she was not a cardboard copy of her mother and actually had features that were a blend of both parents. ((Even though I do kinda forgive the character designers for it in this particular film because it plays a part in the king and queen immediately recognizing their daughter. Same for Rapunzel. In the case of Frozen on the other hand…)).
In the same go I made her eyelashes and lip color more natural. I have a feeling these features were part of Flora´s gift anyway, and not traits Aurora was born with. :D
I really like her like this! <3
The sweetest granddaughter
btw the marshmallow test has been linked to class - kids from wealthier families are essentially more likely to trust that they will actually get the marshmallow if they wait whereas poorer kids are generally more used to like, if you have food, eat it. and being wealthier correlates to being more successful later in life because our system is broken. so THAT’s probably why the marshmallow test is a predictor - because it tells you who is wealthy, not who is innately primed to be successful
Classic correlation does not equal causation

Better late than never
The comedic timing of this strip fits the tone of the show perfectly, right down to Stan putting a quarter in the meter after ramming it through the wall.
*on a date* so haha tell me more about your dog
A distressing number of people are under the impression that because life is often hard, we should be actively trying to make it harder for people, especially children. I’ve literally seen people argue that they shouldn’t have to be kind or treat children like actual people because they were never treated that way as kids and the children need to learn that “life is tough” or whatever the hell. I remember a few years ago when Sesame Street announced some programs to help children deal with trauma and there were literally smoothbrains in the comments arguing that it was “snowflake shit” to help literal abused and traumatized children learn to cope with their feelings.
Bottom line, of course difficulties and challenges are inevitable, and when they happen we should help each other work through them, but that doesn’t mean we need to go around inventing them. If you actively want people to suffer in the same ways that you did because you “turned out fine”, then I hate to break it to you Chief but you definitely did not turn out fine.
