In honour of Sheldon and Amy’s 6th anniversary and also for Nerdforestgirl’s Fluff Day I thought I would share my 10 favourite moments from seasons 3-9. It was quite difficult narrowing it down to only 10 as there have been so many amazing episodes and moments over the years, but for now these are in my top 10 as they all make me extremely happy to be a Shamy shipper!
10. “In case of emergency please contact Amy Farrah Fowler”
This made it into the top 10 as to me it shows how serious Sheldon was about their relationship, even back in season 6. I find it so touching how, despite the fact he hates gift giving, Sheldon manages to give Amy the perfect gift for Valentines day and I would love to see some more sweet little things like this between them soon.
9. “Please pass the butter”
This is probably one of my all time favourite scenes from the show as Amy/Mayim’s reactions crack me up everytime. I love it whenever Amy goes slightly mad at Sheldon and his kind of speechless ‘wasn’t expecting that’ reaction and they are some of my favourite moments from the show.
8. “Dr Sheldon Cooper & Dr Amy Farrah Fowler present Dr Sheldon Cooper’s Fun with Flags”
Whenever there is a fun with flags episode I get a little bit giddy inside as it is one of my favourite parts of the show. I love how Sheldon and Amy share this kind of passion/interest for something that’s quite unique and it’s always nice to see them working as a team. I love the whole montage in The Champagne Reflection and the Valentine’s day episode this year and I would actually quite like a proposal to happen involving Fun with Flags!
7. “We cuddle, final offer”
There are probably other moments that are a bit of a bigger deal than this one, but for me I think this is where we see the most clearly how much Sheldon cares for Amy even when she is still a girl/friend. I love how much he worries about her and even though he hates physical contact makes an exception for her, the way he always does :)
6. “We’re getting a turtle”
Despite the slight conflict in this ep, it will forever be one of my favourite moments as nothing gives me greater joy as a shipper than Shamy planning their future together(even if it is on another planet!) I think this episode is full of cute little moments(like the handholding and hug) for us Shamy shippers and I also can’t get over how happy they look in this gif!
5. “Oh…kissings romantic”
I don’t even know how many times I watched this clip on Youtube when I first starting shipping these two, but it’s such a huge, monumental moment in their relationship that even now I could still rewatch it over and over again.
4. “The only conclusion is love”
I think what makes this episode/moment so special for me is that you realise how far Sheldon has come since the beginning of both the show and his relationship with Amy. Considering how he used to scoff at the idea of being in love, I love how he says those 4 little words so matter of factly, yet also extremely sweetly and touching too.
3. “Kiss her you brilliant fool”
I think everyone had been waiting for Sheldon to have his moment of realisation about how important Amy is to him and that’s why I love this episode as we finally see how much he loves her. I love the song, the two kisses, which were better than anything I imagined and, of course, Dave, who I would love to see again as he was hilarious!
2. “I know that your present is for us to be intimate tonight”
I think this episode would have to be my favourite from the whole series, but my favourite moment in particular is when they are on the couch. It has everything from the comedy(give it to me) to the sweet and tender moments between them and I love the throwback to their first kiss!
1. “I’m Amy Farrah Fowler, you’re Sheldon Cooper”
It was quite difficult choosing my favourite Shamy moment but I think for me it would have to be the moment they met as it is the start of their incredible journey together. I love how Sheldon instantly connects with her the minute they meet, despite normally hating meeting new people, as well as the fact that he looks at her twice. Thank you Raj and Howard for bringing them together and all hail the dirty sock!
