I think Gortash's look of perfect imperfection is purposeful and entirely manufactured. He stood in the mirror before his coronation and laced up his shirt correctly, then pulled out a few loops. He ran his hands through his hair (that his barber had so painstakingly coiffed not moments before) until a few strands fell out of place. He worked on artificer projects right before the ceremony and didn't bother cleaning off flecks of work grease. Each facet of his look is part of a cultivated image meant to convey a chic, detached poise that obscures reality: he's considered every little detail, down to the intricate patterns on his arm guards.

And what are the odds that Gortash himself knew but chose to do nothing, cuz he knew it was the right thing to get rid of Durge, cuz he knew Durge couldn't succumb to them, cuz he thought they too knew.

What if he knew what Orin had planned, chose to do nothing for whatever arrogant reason, only for his worst nightmare that he never deemed possible to come to life?
