I normally don’t put my personal crap out here on Tumblr because, well, it’s crap. [And let’s be honest, most people simply don’t care.] But I’m making an exception this one time because I’m kind of at a loss at this point.
We [me, my partner, our two young children] are living with my partner’s dad. We moved from Washington to Utah to be able to have a clean start, maybe find affordable living, be able to buy actual food and clothing. You know, the luxuries in life. [rolls eyes] Anyway, we were asked by his dad to move in with him so they [his dad and step mom] could help us get on our feet. My guy works something like 65 hours a week, and we’re still living paycheck to paycheck, never mind being able to get a place of our own. [Because most places want first month rent, last month rent, and deposit all at once. Who the hell has $3,000 just lying around?!] Well, his dad is charging us $600 to stay in a bedroom.
Read that last line again, because I shit you not, it’s accurate. His dad apparently forgot what having a three year old and infant was like, and I’m constantly being chastised because *gasp* they’re making NOISE. Not tantrum or inconsolable crying, either. Just…noise. Like normal, human noises. On more than one occasion, I have been told to leave the house and not to come back until 7pm. It’s 95 degrees outside. I don’t have a car. It’s at least six miles to walk ANYWHERE child-friendly.
On days we need to stay inside (because it’s raining, my feet are bleeding from walking 12 miles, or my kids are simply too tired), we need to stay inside the bedroom all day. We have “approved” meal times, and never when anyone else is in the house. The door has a lock on it to keep in my 3 year old. We sit ALL FUCKING DAY and do nothing. I have NEVER felt so unwanted and unwelcome in my life.
Did I mention we are paying $600 a month for this kind of treatment?!
We agreed, before we moved, that we would stay with them until February, when we receive our tax refunds. Yesterday, they changed their story and told us we need to get out before his wife puts out her 40 boxes of Xmas decorations around the house at the end of November.
And now I’m worried. My guy breaks his back to work really hard for us, but all of it is being siphoned by rent and other bills. I can’t contribute financially by working outside the house because we can’t afford childcare, and there is NO WAY IN HELL I would leave my children with them alone for any measurable time. [This was a decision I reached based on several things, including the fact that they constantly tell my oldest to shut up and stop making noise and to watch TV all day, and complain when I hold my infant “too much” and tell me to just put him down all the time. Not to mention they disapprove of me nursing and push formula on me.] Not acceptable. Let me hold and nurse my baby, dammit.
I want to contribute in some other way, so here’s a call to action.
IF YOU CAN [because, shit, I know how hard life can be], request a reading from me and drop a little tip in my PayPal. Whatever you feel like donating to help us out. We have two months to get out and find a place, and I’m genuinely panicking about this. I give kickass readings [so I’ve been told], and I’d love to offer readings [and undying affection] in exchange for some help.
If you choose to help you, you get a full picture of your customized spread, up close shots of each card, and detailed descriptions of the cards as they relate to the spread and to each other. It takes quite a bit of time and effort to do this. [I average 45 minutes - 1 hour for EACH reading.]
If you can’t donate [and, believe me, I totally understand], a simple reblog/signal boost would REALLY help. I’m tired of crying over this shit every night.
