minor pet peeve but i dislike when ppl Exclusively design fandragons as "the Primary is their skin" because
1. disproportionate amount of dragons with cream primary instead of actual variation, they end up looking too similar to each other (of course this is largely due to colorism in media & fandom meaning the most popular faves are pale bc those are the characters that get depth and focus; it honestly wouldn't peeve me if they were using a wider range of tones, we have SO many shades of brown to work with)
2. related to 1, less interesting color schemes, and a lot of times people just slap iridescent on instead of doing anything fun with the genes bc it would look weird if skin was Ground or Laced
3. does the character not have scales as a dragon?? it wouldn't be skin color it'd be scale color??? also the character looks naked if you don't fully dress them up
