Realistic study situation the other day. I have three research papers due by midnight tonight, and this is the result of 12 hours of intense research and primary source analysis. It isn't pretty, it's definitely not neat, but I was genuinely excited about learning that day. ♡

How is college life so far as a freshmen??

Honestly, it’s been weird! I feel like my life right now has three parts: social life, academic life, and finding time for myself. Learning to balance those as a freshman was--and is--really difficult. But I feel like now, four weeks in, I am definitely finding my place. I also have noticed that everyone is much more accepting and friendly than they were at my last school, which has made a huge difference in my attitude.

Orientation was overwhelming and I didn’t have a very good experience, but once classes started, I immediately felt better because I had a focus for my energy. My classes range from ridiculously easy gen-eds to upper level cell biology, and the upper-level class is really difficult but amazing because I am finally doing exciting, real science (we’re growing tumors right now and it’s amazing!). That said, it is really challenging to keep up with the studying, and I have a lot of anxiety that I will not be able to perform at the level my professors expect of me.

I think I need to buckle down and learn to devote much more time to studying than I did in high school. I also have to go out of my comfort zone before--whether that means joining clubs or going to parties, every time I have taken a risk so far I have been glad that I did!! I have definitely had hard times and good times. But I’m excited and I feel so lucky to be here... First exam is on Monday so we’ll see how that goes :)))

08.23.2017 // i got my schedule for school the other day so i decided to start studying chemistry to prepare myself. i’m a little nervous for school this year especially since it’s my last year but hopefully it’ll go well!!

yes yes productivity! I love having 11am class on tuesdays bc I can stay up until the library closes on mondays and get the week started on a good note :)
