Earlier this year, Artfight forced me to finally sit down and make some fresh, if simple references for the lot of them. It was definitely due lol I hadn't drawn any of the minions in quite a while. Even though these pics were made in a bit of a rush I'm quite happy with them still! It just also means that some of them (Mimi especially - something about her design keeps not sitting quite right with me) are up to potential changes in the future.

Maybe some day I'll get larger, entire reference pages done for them. At least I'm aiming for that. But until then these will do just fine.

Hello all! As you are probably aware, my husband’s health has been quite rocky for a few years now. We’re working on getting him proper diagnoses for as many issues as possible. Unfortunately, it turns out many of these issues are chronic - lupus and POTs have already been confirmed. Despite working with his doctors and plenty of meds, his flare ups make it hard for him to maintain or even regulate his energy from day to day. As you could imagine, this is incredibly frustrating for him to manage, and going anywhere for very long is not possible for him right now without days or weeks of recovery time.

So, here’s where all this is going- we’ve created a gofundme to help secure my husband (aka @approachthebench ) the mobility aids he needs to navigate daily life. The majority of it will cover the costs of a wheelchair.

I know this is a hard time for everyone, so please don’t feel obligated to give if you’ve not got your bills covered. Anything at all helps though! And we’d really appreciate anyone sharing it around!

So, I'm aware that I'm several weeks late to the party but here we are! I will be participating in Artfight this year! As is no surprise, the cast I'm bringing are my AU versions of the SPM villains (+ Timpani <3). We'll see how many people I'm actually able to attack because I'm a very slow artist and have my hands full with other projects, but I will be more than happy to fight anyone who dare approacheth! >:]

Sooooooo i somehow didn't realise that i never uploaded this to here. and that even though this reference is already well beyond a year old at this point. oh well, better late than never. It will be a while until i have enough time and energy to make an updated version of this anyway, me thinks.

anyhow, this is what Timpani and Blumiere look like well into the post-game time. both of them are definitely more relaxed and happier by then.

Can you show a human design of Timpani that you have? I need to see how you draw her human

I'm not really sure what to do about Timpanis design, humans aren't my expertise nor is general character design to be frank.

When I think of "Blecks young years" or "time of the Ancients" I imagine the humans and their lifestyle as your traditional folk of old times and since I know a little about Slavic old culture, and I also find it very pretty, I ended up going in that direction with her design. That + some Tippi features like the two strands looking like butterfly eyes and her love for fruit. I used a reference photo for the outfit altough I avoided drawing the embroided flowers on the vest and sleeves as I don't currently feel confident about the patterns for her. I used the rainbow frill from it as well which I found fitting as it matches with her Pixl look. Overall in design terms there's stuff to fill in the future I'd say as I have yet to make up my mind...

Right now the current impression I have is that she was a very stubborn young girl that would get the chores done (most of the time) and run off with friends to play in the fields. She liked being outdoors a lot and rolling in the fresh spring grass, getting her hair messy and full of flowers. Not afraid to get dirty really. She would tend to get in trouble but she didn't really care.

One of her most notable traits were her sapphire eyes. They would always shimmer beautifully and reflected her soul and love for being alive. They were also the thing that Bleck would start to forget as time went on and his goal became to eradicate life, the same thing that those eyes stood for and found beautiful.
