tysm for the questions luke!! >::3 7. What is the biggest hurdle they face as couple or becoming a couple? OOH this was a fun one to think about! i guess the biggest hurdle they faced in becoming a couple was the confession part of it; it took them a long time to become a couple bc jasper was figuring out they had a crush on hal on their own terms and hal knew they had a crush on jasper but didn't want to make things awkward for their friendship!! so they just stayed as best friends hehe and then the loops happened!! jasper figured out their crush on hal and was unsure of how to confess it to them combined with the stress of keeping the loops a Secret bc they were scared hal (and their loved ones) wouldn't believe them. (spoiler alert they 100% would). thankfully in the post loops, jasper gathered up the courage to tell their guardians and hal about the loops, and at that same time confessed to hal!! also a bonus for the first part of the question; i guess the biggest hurdle they face as a couple is honestly just getting used to being in a romantic relationship; like they know nothing changes between romantic and platonic, they cuddle together and all that!! but like its this new thing they gotta navigate!! they're very much young adults in love lol, they do eventually get comfortable with their relationship and what that means to them with time <3 15. What objects remind them of each other?

OOH another fun one >::3 jasper always thinks of hal when they see wood-carved items, also any sort of fabric with the color orange on it because that's their favorite color! and books with nomai writing make them think of hal too, also moon-related items!! in turn, hal always thinks of jasper when they see purple/blue items, as well as fun fabrics!!! they also see little gift bags and think of the hand picked gift bags that jasper loves to make for everyone during the holidays. also star-related items hehe!! also another bonus but they both think of each other when they see the telescope at the observatory, because they remember thats how they met when they were small 🥹little hal helping a little jasper up on the step stool to see the stars together with them...

tysm for the questions luke!! <33 Green 4. What is your OC like when they’re sick? Do they try to push through it or are they completely bed-ridden? OOOH this is a very good question 👀with all the energy jasper has, in the beginning stages of being sick they think about all the stuff they want to do and think they can still do!! and much like their guardian feldspar they'd try so hard to push through it!! but alas.. jasper turns out to be bed ridden LOL. their guardian gossan insists that they rest; and have some herbal tea to help them feel better!! and gossan taught them the importance of rest too, saying that the rest will help them get their energy back for when they feel better!! Brown 1. Is your OC reliable? (somewhat) nuanced answer times!!! i'd say jasper is reliable as a friend, like they're loyal and can keep secrets/promises, and always there for friends when they need it! however as for being reliable with like... stuff where you have to turn it in on a Deadline; they're not so reliable LOL. they're forgetful to turn that type of stuff in and often get a nudge about it. like if they're in a group project; you wouldn't entrust the turning in the documents to jasper😔 they're also not reliable in terms of safety either, though they do try to get better about it in the post loops!! from the colorful OC ask game!!

Esker: I can't really think of anything for Esker, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind a conversation. Free yap spot. This ask is repeatable because it's fun to yap and Esker deserves the company. on the topic of esker, i think my hatchling OC jasper liked spending time with them on the moon <3 esker never got to see jasper all that often because they're at the lunar outpost all the time so seeing them all grown up and on their first launch about brought them to tears! and that they thought to go and see them as well gossan has talked with them about how jasper was doing before but actually seeing them in real time made esker very happy to have their company!! they roasted marshmallows while esker asked questions to jasper about what they wanted to do in space and how they've been hehehe

Riebeck: Was there a moment that you found particularly intimidating or scary during your playthrough? Whether it was intended to be scary or not. honestly the caves in the ember twin; like not what's inside of them but what happens to you in them!! it felt like i was trapped inside an hourglass, a ticking time bomb as the sand kept rising and getting crushed was super scary to me!! i had to jet pack out of there fast if i wanted to make the most of my time in the loops!!

Describe a mundane day in your OC's life. jasper wakes up in the mornings and has a little bit of breakfast together with their guardian gossan, usually some toasted bread with jelly on it!! then they go outside, they don't really have a specific job around timber hearth so what they do tends to vary!! but usually they love to get all their energy out by running around (and sometimes bringing hal with them!!) or climbing rocks/trees!! they also often go to the observatory where the space program gathers; whether that is to learn more about space or socialize!! when the sun's about to set they go home for dinner and eat it with gossan; and in more recent times hal also comes over to their home and spends the night, so they get to spend time together <3 jasper loves to stargaze at night, though to wind down they also love to practice their guitar or sew for a little bit!! and then they eventually go to sleep in their comfy cozy bed hehehe 10. Does your OC have any physical scars? What is the story behind them? already answered here! 18. What are your OC's bad habits?

honestly not being the best with safety LOL. but also they don't like sitting still and always want to go go go!!

🛏️ — How they act when they’re tired ooh this was a fun question to think about!! when they're physically tired (after a long day of running around and using all that energy of theirs LOL), they tend to start feeling like they're about to doze off. They tend to cozy up on a couch or a bed and after a while they just fall asleep. sometimes they forget to bring their blanket and guardian gossan comes in and puts a blanket over them <3 as for emotionally tired, they tend to feel very sad i think; like thinking about them in their 2.2 hour loops that they went through. like they want to go home and they're lonely, and they havent had a good dinner in so long. like they want to rest in their bed!!! they miss hal, they miss their guardians, they miss their village. ☕ — A small everyday detail about them

jasper has little star string lights in their bedroom!! their bedroom in general is very much something they made their own <3 just a place to cozy up and have fun as well as to keep special memories with them, they often practice their guitar in there as well!!

10 ⧽. what genre is generally the easiest or most enjoyable for you to write? which is the hardest?

genre-wise i definitely feel more in my element when writing sci-fi, or a story with sci-fi elements (whether that's fantasy, horror, drama, etc). i like putting my degree to use and i think it just feels natural with how i think about world building- focusing on physical laws, cosmology, and how we can tie meaning into how the world works even if the world itself does not inherently have meaning.

i think romance is probably the hardest for me. i can write stories with romantic relationships in them, but, a story focused on a romantic relationship would be... challenging because it's only a small part of what i like to work with wrt character dynamics. like i write characters interacting and sometimes that context becomes "romantic" but i never think of their relationship as "a romantic relationship" as much as i think of it as, say, "blue and timpani's relationship" or "cliff and hal's relationship" which is completely distinct from "chert and gabbro's relationship".

14 ⧽. is there anything outside of your normal content that you want to write?

i think i would enjoy writing actual oneshots that aren't part of a larger established continuity. maybe someday lol. i liked writing reincorporation quite a lot for the outer wilds event last year.

ty for asking luke!! <3 ❄️ frappuccino – how do they act when they’re trying to impress someone? OOOH this is a fun one, they love to show other hearthians the cool stunts they can do which is deffo something they got from feldspar LOL though it's less of "i'm so cool" and rather "look at what i can do!" to try to impress them i think. more often than not they're just kind to their fellow hearthians!! and they have that sort of personality whether or not they're trying to impress someone hehehe. i guess in a more formal situation they'd try to calm down a bit maybe? ☕ americano – what’s their brutally honest opinion about something that can go for hours?

jasper doesn't like formal/stuffy events, like at all. like they go to them if they have to, to be considerate to others but like... around the right people they'd probably say their opinion about those kinds of events!! it combines a lot of things they don't like into one and it makes for an honest opinion that could go for hours!! they far prefer festivals/parties than conferences, etc i think! from the starbucks ask game!

(Coffee/tea order, alcohol of choice, pop, etc) at restaurants i tend to order cherry cola!! but more often than not i drink water hehehe, whether it's flavored water or normal water; it's often the beverage i go to!! 11. what kind of music is stuck in your head a lot lately?
