I know everyone hates these posts. I’m so sorry. But I have to try, you know?

As y'all might know, these past few months have been…very hard on me. Working two jobs, trying to help my nana, going through transitioning, and dealing with The Depression™.

It drove me to the point that I almost committed suicide.

So I need… To take some time off. To spend time with my boyfriend and friends, to rest and reevaluate, and to prepare for beginning school in the fall.

(because oh boy, I can smell that stress from here)

So yeah, I’m basically begging for someone to help me take a much needed vacation. Again, I’m sorry, and I know there’s far worthier causes. But if my stories bring you a bit of joy, and if I’ve helped make you smile just once, please consider kicking me a few dollars. ❤️

Meet my nana. She raised me as a child, and was more of a mother to me than my own. She loves me, deeply, without restrictions, and accepted me even after I had come out as trans. She researched what that meant, she asked me about how she should address the cards she sent to me, she… she loves me. And I love her. Of all my family, she’s the only one that’s stuck with me through thick and thin.

On Sunday, February 25th, my nana was found unconscious and unresponsive on the kitchen floor. She is diabetic, and her blood sugar was over 700. However, she remained unconscious even after her blood sugar was brought down to stable levels. An MRI given on Monday the 26th determined that she had suffered a stroke in her occipital lobe. This means that if she wakes up, she could have difficulty with swallowing or vision problems.

But if the stroke was severe enough, she might never regain consciousness. On Tuesday, she will be given an EEG to determine brain activity.

The reality of the situation is that I need to fly to her, either to be there if she wakes up, or… for her funeral.

Flights from Minneapolis to Indianapolis range from $300 to $400, which I just don’t have. I don’t get paid until the 9th, and there’s no guarantee she’ll be able to hold on until then.

I’m raising money now, so that if something happens between now and then, I can leave the next day.

also check out the toggle buttons in your visibility - by selecting the toggle to set my blog as explicit, it also activates the toggle to hide my blog from search results within Tumblr as well as external search engines, but it’s an inactive toggle, so you can’t deselect it - basically, if you’re NSFW, no one will be able to search for you unless they directly enter your URL.
