{OOOOO, it's been some time again. But after reading the most recent AoT volume... I think it's only right I come back and portray my favourite scientist again 🥺❤️}
{Well then it's been a hot minute since I've been on this blog. I just want to let everyone know that yes, I am okay and that I promise I'll get back on Hange as soon as I am able. I really haven't been feeling myself and needed a long break. But hopefully I'll be in again soon! I love you all so much <3}

{Welp, I caved in! If you're a fan of FF7 and want some love from one of Avalanche's best, pls feel free to interact with my latest blog for none other than Jessie! <3}
{Just finished FF7: Remake and oh my god... What an emotional, wild journey it took me on. I've never felt so sad to finish a game, I just want the story to continue! The good news is, I'll be on a lot more now since my main distraction is now gone. Bad news is, I feel all the more determined to do a Final Fantasy 7 AU... Should I do it? And would people be interested in doing it with me? Because Hange as Jessie is screaming internally within me rn <3}
The Scout before her was very adorable to say the least, and her words and apology seemingly made Hange let out a gentle chuckle before the expression change when the cream was applied. A slight wince since there was still a bit of pain even if the wound was covered around the area but nothing she couldn’t handle. It wasn’t long before the irritation began to subside and Hange let out a cool sigh. Then a smile was shot at Bel as the commander rolled her sleeves back down.
“Thank you for your assistance again, Bel. It’s people like you that keep people like us on our feet. I don’t think we’ve actually had a proper one to one conversation yet however, so I would like to get to know you more if that’s okay?” The Elite Scout had an almost perky and cheeky grin on her lips as she spoke before lifting her legs up so she could relax on the medical berth.
“I’m always a sucker for a good story… Also, are you hungry? In payment for such a nice job on my squad in patching them up, I could cook you up a good meal if you wish it?”
“ Huh-ah-thank you, Commander. I’m just doing my job, “ the medic replied humbly but with an equally bright smile. She would’ve responded in a more shy manner, perhaps, but she was glad Hange was being a very cooperative patient. Usually, the higher up the chain of command, the less willing soldiers were to comply. The promoted scientist was undoubtedly a breath of fresh air.
Though it still persisted that there was only more time for camaraderie as a result of the last expedition’s devastation. The bittersweet ache was a weight dragging her heart to the pit of her stomach, but Bel pressed on with everything that was left in her. She was going to cherish every moment she spent with the Scouts and each of their soldiers.
“ That sounds great, “ she said warmly as she shed her coat and stethoscope for the day, “ I’ll help you out. After learning how to really do it I’ve found it pretty comforting. Maybe we could make enough to feed the squad too… “ Upon realizing she was all but rejecting Hange’s original offer, her eyes blew wide and she shook her hands. “ Not to say I don’t want you to cook for me, I’m sorry! Just want to… team up. We could have a good time and offer some extra help. “ Social graces gone rusty. Spending the last year or so a hermit in the northern mountains surely didn’t help.
Hange chewed on her bottom lip slightly as Bel spoke, a raised brow soon followed as she continued to talk about cooking for the others and when she finally stopped and accepted Hange's offer, the scientist let out a hearty laugh before placing a hand on the shoulder of the person who nursed her to health, eyes closed and a wide smile formed.
"How about we cook for everyone tomorrow? Seeming as we're most likely not heading out for expeditions again for now, I think a hearty meal would raise everyone's spirits."
"But for now, let's just keep this under wraps until then. You can even help me meal plan, I can tell you what's in stock while we're eating."
It was then that Hange got up slowly, trying not to stretch as much as it was hard to do and headed for the door. A gentle hand moved to pat gently on the young woman's hair before she smiled once again.
"I hope you like chicken."
{So mun is an emotional wreck rn, I've been crying for the last 30 minutes because of FF7Remake, because of spoilers I won't write why I'm absolutely dying atm, but I need cuddles rn because my heart is torn up 💔😔}
{Thinking of an FF7 AU, Jessie and Hange are so alike and I'm screaming ;;;;; I love Jessie souch AAAAAAAA}
{I wanna apologise for my absence for the past two weeks, quarantine really put a dampening on my plans for the blog especially since a lot of new games just came out in the last week. I'll be making a bigger effort to pop on this week, thank you for everyone who is still around I'll reply to all my role plays ASAP <3 Also, I have a new sideblog in the works who I hope you'll all love once it comes to fruition. Thank you for your patience <3 <3}

The remark he made earlier with the sarcastic bite attached to it made her chuckle gently, but she knew how he properly felt. It was times like these where she really did have to lean on him when no one else would. Nanaba died, so did Mike. Erwin had become too busy and Moblit would never fully understand what was brewing inside her head…
Hange trusted Levi. Completely.
Eventually, the rain had stopped but the foreboding and dark clouds still loomed above, a testament to the resolve of their cause but the loss of so many of their numbers. It painted the picture so well, of how the two elite scouts were feeling. Hange looked away for a moment before looking back at Levi, offering him a small smile of appreciation before speaking.
“Promise me you won’t get yourself killed out there. I… I can’t lose another. Not you.” She admitted before her smile disappeared again, the shine on her glasses managed to block the watery eyes and tears that were slowly forming once again. Hange always showed strength amongst her peers, but sometimes she had to let some of the tension go.
Besides, while everyone saw her as either crazy or incredibly intelligent.
She was still human.
“Hange…”
Her desperate request takes Levi by surprise, and for a moment, he doesn’t know how to react. He knew, of course, that in spite of all of her strength… Hange is just like anyone else. Sometimes, all of this death and pain becomes too much to bear.
But what she’s asking of him is a promise he can’t make. …She knows that, too.
Instead, he turns to look at her directly. He can’t see her eyes, but he can already imagine exactly what kind of expression she’s wearing.
“I don’t have any intention of dying.” he says, firmly. It’s all he can promise her, in the end. “Until we can make sure that the sacrifices of the fallen weren’t for nothing, I can’t die.”
His firm eyes were directly looking into her own as the tears flowed down her own eyes. Somehow what he said brought a bit of comfort inside of her, which definitely warmed her again. Eventually, the tears did indeed stop as the scientist slumped slightly before she wrapped her arms around Levi again, a gentle hug passed from one elite to another.
Hange held it there for a while, taking in the words he stated earlier about having no intention on dying. It was a small relief but she knew that it was such a dangerous promise to make, another to keep it from happening. The silence between the two after was eerie but needed, the noises of birds chirping filling in the gaps before Hange opened her eyes a bit more.
She sniffled a moment before letting out a quiet but audible grunt.
"I'm sorry if I smell horrible... I was always end up standing in the rain at some point and the smell after is not what I'd consider... To your standards of cleanliness." She admitted before pulling back slowly and rubbing the back of her head. Hange still had a sad expression on her face, but it was becoming more relaxed as she spoke.
"Levi... Thank you. For everything."

Her smile became smaller, not because the compliment that she received from Historia was bad, far from it. It just reminded her of the large shoes she had to fill going forward. The death of Erwin left a huge hole and couple that with the Scouts who fell that day, Hange was facing her toughest challenge yet.
Succeeding a hero to humanity.
Taking a deep breath, the former scientist turned commander and, the next and newest shining beacon for the kingdom looked at Historia, a confidence that even Erwin would’ve been surprised by should he have still been here burning within her eyes.
“I promise to live by the words that you have given me today, my Queen. Thank you for your faith and trust. While I am not as strong or as charismatic as the former Commander… I will strive to bring about proper peace here, in the future and beyond.”
It seemed that the words spoken by Historia had ignited a strange warmth within Hange, and while she wavered in some words, it was honest and sincere. Hange did not wish to show weakness, even more so in front of Historia.
“Maybe I got a little carried away there… Levi would’ve probably shut me up before I even let another word out if I said the same thing to him..” She chuckled gently, taking more sips of her water.
“Commander Hange…”
At first, she seems hesitant, but… strength and sincerity in Hange’s words takes Historia by surprise. It’s not like she wasn’t expecting it from her so much as… well, it makes her happy to see the resolve that Hange holds, in spite of everything that happened to the Survey Corps. It seems like Hange shares the same determination that Historia does.
“I don’t doubt it.” she says, smiling warmly.
Her comment about Levi gets a small laugh from Historia, too. Levi is someone she’d been quite afraid of him at first. It’s no surprise that she was - after all, he was the one who had threatened her into becoming Queen in the first place. But as he helped fight by her side in order to establish the orphanage… Historia started to see that Dimo Reeves words about him were right. She really does owe so much to both him and Hange for everything they’ve done to help her.
“He would, wouldn’t he?” she says, reaching out to take a sip of her tea. …It’s nice, to be able to have a pleasant conversation with Hange like this. It feels like it’s rarely that they have the oppurtunity to talk so casually. “How has he been doing, with… everything?”
The react Historia elicited towards her upon making comments about Levi made Hange smile, it had been too long since she had heard proper laughter let alone an upbeat or happy tone from anyone close to her. The closest she got was a smile, but even she knew that it was a front for many other emotions from the people.
Her attention was drawn back to Historia though when she asked about Levi and how he was doing, taking a sip from her tea again before fixing her glasses. Taking a deep breath, Hange finally spoke.
"Out of the both of us, we're both taking it one step at a time. I think he's beaten himself enough on the inside already... Levi mourns differently to the rest of us. But he's taking it a lot better than most. If I could make things better for him, I'd do it in a heartbeat. He's been through too much in one life... I just wish he wasn't so stubborn."
Talking about Levi made Hange feel guilty, a lot of their time spent in private was for their ears only, but in times like these, everyone needed to know how they were feeling. And Hange trusted Historia enough to speak about said meetings and feelings. There was just a soothing aura around her that made Hange feel a bit more safe in this world.
"He hates it when I check on him, classic Levi really... But I care about him a lot more than he knows. I'm scared y'know... He's the last of the original elites. I'm scared that he'll put himself in danger one too many times for us and he'll never make it back... Probably why I check on him so much now."
"He's the rock I lean on, the one who keeps me going. Sure, he calls me names and sometimes bullies me... But I wouldn't be here without him."
heartfelt more like hurt felt!
@fourteenthcommander
“I’m not trying to start a fight with him. He should know by now that whenever I make jokes about his height, I mean it in the most heartfelt way possible.”
The scientist let out an exhausted huff before folding her arms. It seemed that Levi had taken her jokes quite too literally this time, and while she felt remorseful she did feel slightly hurt that he thought of them that way. She hadn’t really been good at flirting though, and of all the people she chose Levi. Typical. Crazy.
“He makes glasses insults all the time but god forbid I make a height joke…”
She eventually came back to her senses and looked up at Petra with a smile. “But yes, what can I help you with Petra?”
Pretty much everyone in the Scouts but Petra and a few others could make height jokes about the Captain. After all, she was shorter than him.
“How exactly did you word what you said to him again?”
She was walking in the hallway with her laundry bag over her shoulder when she heard the commotion between them. Next thing she knew, Captain Levi stormed out the room, muttering under his breath, Shitty glasses. And even that punched Petra in the gut whenever she heard it, and she didn’t even wear glasses!
“I’m just wondering if you have some good oils or chemicals to wash my clothes with. Just ran short of my bar and soap, and my teammates are out for the day.”
Her expression changed again to a mildly annoyed one when she asked the question about how she worded it, which made her fold her arms and huff like a petty child for a moment. Hange was rarely in such a fit of annoyance but Levi could get her there sometimes, most of the time it would be about capturing Titans however and not something like this.
"It was sarcasm. You learn a thing or two when you've been around the guy for so long. All I did was call him shorty at the end of one of my sentences because I thought I'd retort one of his own sarcastic comments."
Moving back to the topic at hand however, Hange nodded at Petra with a small smile again and went over to one of her many cabinets. The Scientist muttered to herself as she grabbed some of the things the young scout needed. As she gathered the essentials such as the oils she turned to look at her with a smile.
"So how have you been, Petra? I sure hope Levi hasn't put you through any meat grinders lately."

“That’s all anyone could ask of us right now. Times are tough, but we’ll make it through. Thinking about it now, the injured would not have made it back safely had it not been for you Bel.”
Hange heaped her praise at the other before offering a gentle smile, placing her hand gently on the shoulder of her fellow shorter scout before releasing a soft sigh.
“Thank you for patching me up too, the wound on my side doesn’t hurt as much anymore. How long do you think before I can remove the patch you’ve put on it though? It’s getting a bit itchy… Admittedly.”
“ Oh? Um, lemme see… “ Please don’t be an infection, please don’t be an infection… she mentally chanted as she gave her a quick check. Bel’s thoughts couldn’t help but wander, which led her to asserting the extent of her abilities aloud. Though attention to a wound brought her back to earth, she was left a little shy from the vulnerability and cleared her throat.
“ Thank you, Commander… “ she said softly, “ I’m sorry for being off task. I can only imagine how much stress you’re under, too. “ Keeping one hand on her side, Bel took out a small cream from her pocket and adeptly applied some to the edges of the wound. “ That should cool it down a bit. It looks like it’s just the adhesive giving you trouble right now, not an infection, so it should be good to take off tonight. Just be careful in the shower, and don’t soak for the next few days at least. “
The Scout before her was very adorable to say the least, and her words and apology seemingly made Hange let out a gentle chuckle before the expression change when the cream was applied.
