1 July 2018 - Berhampore 01. 40 Totara 29 June 2018- Around Home 02. Morris in the Kanuka 29 June 2018 - Oruaiti Pa site 03. The concrete ruins of Fort Dorset create form and structure to this feral garden. Id love to insert Bulbinella angustifolia within this scene. 04. This could be an undergrond crib with fireplace and sleeping quaters at the back, concrete listening room at front. Inside a shell.
Baring Head In Winter 23 . 6 . 18 I went to Baring Heads with my 3 year old son Morris. 01 This is the only Linum monogynum we saw but was rather conspicuous with its amazing colour, im always happy to see Rauhuia in the wild, its growthform seems alot more sparse than in cultivation. 02 This Coprosma repens or Taupata shaped by the elements is obvoiusly tough, surrounded by sand and the introduced Marram grass. 03 I think this is a divaricating Coprosma, shaped by the southerly wind and the lichenized greywacke that protects it. Why ain't hairdressers going around doing topairy? 04 Coastal pond. Im sure there is a particular word for this type of body of water but i havnt found it yet. This made me think of Thoreau's bottomless pond. 05 Rugged outcrop of Greywacke. 06 The Raoulia hookeri growing in one small location about 100m up from the shore, showed two slight colour forms, grey and green, this is the grey. Be great to see this in flower and what insects or potentialy lizards are doing the polinating. 07 Morris tripping

Acaena anserinifolia. Piripiri. Hutiwai. Bidibid. This scrambling ground cover was used by Maori medicinally and as a tonic, most references suggest the use as a diuretic and or kidney problems. Was used as a tea substitute by early colonists who must of got this practice from Maori. I tried a handfull of leaves steeped in water and would try again to make a stronger brew next time with leaves, stems, burs and all. Dried leaves. Oxidised leaves. https://maoriplantuse.landcareresearch.co.nz/WebForms/PeoplePlantsDetails.aspx?PKey=97040d65-70e0-47a9-85a1-386001e9875c
