Haihai!! This is a blog solely dedicated to me tweaking out over sebpainter (the ship of Sebastian Solace and pAInter from Roblox Pressure), and will include things like art, rambles, imagines/scenarios, and asks/requests!! I may also reblog posts here from time to time if I have something to say about them or if I just really really really like them. Also, I’m very much a fan of roleplaying and stuff like that, so if you want to ask me anything to answer in character as Sebastian or pAInter, I’d love that (just specify you’d like an in character response if you do, and who you’d like!) :)

hi, the pressure devs forced the sibling dynamic between sebastian and painter with the intention of controlling their fans

as theyve done in several other cases, e.g.: saying urbanshade kills every failed experiment; sebastian 'used to be homophobic'; making sebastian a husband despite him being arrested as a 19 year old classwork-swamped student simply to deter yumes; lashing out at fans for submitting sfw fanart of sebastian crossdressing; etc

they never actually saw sebastian and painter as siblings until people started making their friendship gay. there was literally zero hint that they saw each other as siblings in the main game until they realized people were taking it differently

it was a reactionary writing decision because theyre protective over their story and want to control how its perceived

it infantilizes painter by putting him into the role of a younger person who needs to be protected, and it undermines all of the issues he has + the decisions he makes on his own. he is literally called "kid" more often than hes called by his own name, and its to force the idea that hes a little kid. it is ATROCIOUS mental illness rep, if nothing else.

sebpainter/watercolor is not a proship oh my god.

if anybody reading this post genuinely believes that the writers made a genuine, realistic, healthy writing decision by forcing such a dynamic so suddenly into their relationship, you gotta sybau.

i have no problem with people shipping them, viewing them as friends, or even viewing them as siblings! its your playground, youre allowed to climb up the slide! whatever!

(unless you see them as siblings AND ship them—that is disgusting. proshippers dni. this space is not safe for you.)

but i have a strong tendency to block the people who insist that the "sibling" dynamic is canon. because its really not. it was a spontaneous decision the writers made because they didnt like the ship.

i personally cannot see them as siblings. it just Does Not Make Sense. and considering the behavior of the devs its hard to trust ANYTHING they say about any part of their game.

BUT i think they make very good platonic friends. i wouldnt call myself a shipper. (with sebastians issues, he currently wouldnt do good in a relationship.)

anyway yeah, i am strongly anti-proship, and those disgusting people are NOT welcome here.

Post escape/recovery sebpainter cuddling can go one of two ways in my opinion, I lean towards the first personally (but that's also projecting)

1) They cuddle a LOT. Pai is one of the only people Sebby feels safe touching him, and Pai has been obsessed with touch ever since he could feel it. Without each other, they feel hollow, and theyre clingy as all hell in every chance they get. Neither are very fond of PDA though, and prefer to only cuddle/be affectionate in private

2) They dont cuddle much, Sebby's still getting over his trauma and Pai either doesn't have his touch sensors or isn't as attached to feeling touch. They're content to show affection in nonphysical ways though, such as Pai painting stuff for Sebby or Sebby singing/playing music for Pai

Memory issues Sebastian (short and long term)

After Seb and Pai escape and get some level of autonomy within their lives again, Seb takes pictures of EVERYTHING. Everything in the world feels so new again, so important, and he's scared to forget. He doesn't want to forget again. So he gets heavy into photography again, as well as just taking tons of normal pictures throughout the day.

Pai definitely notices this. He gets it, he really does. Especially with the whole memory block with his creator, he can relate to Seb's memory issues at least with that. So one day he decides something, a gift of sorts.

He paints Seb's memories, so he and they will never be forgotten again.

like i’m not silenced out of fear at all, nor have i stopped liking them even a little. it’s literally just 1) my motivation in general has been in the shitter, and 2) grace beainrot overtook me for a while and i couldnt think about anything else

but like guhhh i sill love them sm they’re so everything i need them to cuddle and to have nice long conversations….

for compinsation i’m gonna try to come up with silly fun sebpainter things under read more on the spot. ahem

at least once pai has had sebby model for him. it went terribly, but they just laughed it off

sebby isnt okay with touch with most people, and this is kinda hard to explain without sounding like i’m objectifying pai, but stick with me. pai isnt a human, and that can inherently create a disconnect from the touch sebby is scared of within his own mind. he sees pai as a sentient person, but his form as a computer kinda just. doesnt activate that trauma response in sebby, and it’s much easier to get past his fear

also pai (as a puter) cant feel physical touch, but loves cuddling sebby anyways. it’s a show of great affection, whether or not he can feel it

sebby doing repair work on pai, using his knowledge from his handyman days. just simple stuff, he doesn’t want to work on anything out of his wheelhouse and accidentally hurt pai

since friendly fire i don't think a day has gone by where i haven't thought abt sebpainter,,, where did everyone go ? 💔💔 is there a server or anything,, i need to talk abt them

oh boy… I have some horrible news HDDHJSSJDH

they gave us the historians treatment, theres quite a few tumblr posts explaining what happened but as of right now a lot of sebpainter fans are either inactive or straight up gone.

As for a server? I’m not really sure, there was a mention of making one in the sebpainter tumblr community (which is also inactive, but free to join!) but I don’t think it ever came to be, I’d love to run one myself but it’d take a LOT of effort.

So sadly, as of right now until the tag becomes more active, if it ever even does- It’s apparently like the first sebpainter drama all over again but much worse HDJSJ

It may not be much, but I still love this pairing, and simply cant see them in the found family dynamic the devs have put on them in game just cuz Seb goes “heh thats cool kid” every 20 seconds.

I know several people who were found family and then started dating someone because of that closeness. Being found family does not necessary equate to a legitimate familial bond.

“But he sees Painter as his little brother” bestie painter is at least a decade older than him. What are you talking about. (Seb was born in 1993, so he’s 31 in game (technically 32 now). Painter’s casing is from at least the early 80s if not 70s. And we know Urbanshade doesn’t care about aesthetics At All because Seb is Like That so it’s not a stylistic choice). Seb calls him a kid because he’s physically small & a bit naive I suppose, but painter is like 10-20 years older than him lol.

i touched on this before in an ask, but from here on out, i’m disregarding aspects of canon because in my opinion, the devs have become unreliable narrators of their own story.

this is because they’ve collectively displayed a pattern of behavior that is honestly a little bit spiteful and contrarian towards their fans.

self-shipping has become prominent among fans? oh, suddenly sebastian has a ring and lines about being married.

people are making a bunch of experiment-sonas and ocs? oh, suddenly a discord message is circulating about how urbanshade kills all their failed experiments, thereby de-canonizing all these ocs.

we get bait-and-switched about being able to rescue painter in the most recent trailer because the devs are aware that they are a beloved character.

it’s very strange behavior, and honestly the same can be said for seb/painter. there was initially nothing in canon implying a familial relationship, and now, a little “kid” nickname is being tacked on to painter, and it feels like an afterthought to me. ship stuff aside, it also comes across to me as infantilizing of painter and their character.

this, coupled with several instances of homophobia from the dev team (remember when they didn’t allow people to post art of seb wearing femining clothes to their official discord?) makes it all seem to me like this sudden familial characterization of their ship is a *reactionary writing decision.*

so much of what’s recently been done in this series has been *in response to the culture among their fanbase.* and for what?

spite towards their fans? an overprotectiveness of their lore? a contrarian attitude?

i don’t know. but what i Do believe is that Whatever It Is is starting to *really influence* this game and its story. and in some aspects (not all!), i think it’s for the worse.

maybe they didn’t expect this game to blow up as much as they did, and now they can’t handle it? who knows. but as a lay-person, i don’t consider that my problem—and neither should you!

i think this is still a fine thing to ship, not because of what is being put out there in canon Now—because that’s kinda weird. but more importantly, because this characterization wasn’t there from the beginning. it’s an afterthought.

by the way, did you know that sailor uranus and sailor neptune were originally lovers, but when sailor moon was dubbed into english for an american audience, they were retconned to be cousins?

tldr, i’m ignoring canon from now on. they are my toys now. this is because in my opinion, the team needs to pull the sticks out from up their asses, consider embracing vagueness, and log off.
