My OTP is Romangers, they give me such brainrot and I love them so much. And I've had this like...outline for a fanfic about them from when I was twelve and crave to read, but can't force myself to write:
PWP (with not without), and it's a mutual pining fwb scenario where they are constantly making love (specifically Steve making love to her). In this scenario, they both really want kids and they both know they have feelings for each other, but Natasha denies Steve in a 'Rewrite The Stars' scenario because of her guilty conscience, her own self-loathing, and her inability to bear him any children. She insists that's another woman out there that's right for Steve, BETTER for him, than her
But that's the thing. Steve doesn't want any other woman. He wants her. His dream could only come true if she's a part of it. Otherwise, it isn't a life he wants. And he loves her, oh god does he love her. He wants her in whatever way she'll let him have her, which is why their arrangement goes on for as long as it does. He doesn't ever give up on her. If he was under the impression that she just didn't have feelings for him, he wouldn't be as persistent as he actually was being. He would've backed off, loving her from afar. But he knows. He knows she loves him just as much as he loves her, and he knows why she denies herself him. So he stays, hoping to wait it out, hoping that someday she'll finally relent, that she'll finally give herself and her everything to him so that he could love her the way she needs to be
But for now, he'll show her his love in the only way she allows, by making love to her in the bedroom, because she's too weak to tell him no, to reject him when she wants it just as badly as he does. She just finds being loved by him oh-so addicting. No matter how many times she tries to resist, she just oh-so reflexively and instinctively blooms open for him the momeny he touches her in a certain way (particularly, when he cups her face, thumbs caressing her cheeks, staring into her eyes; OR pulling her into his embrace, resting his forehead against hers before he reflexively kisses it, and then before you know, his lips are on hers and her arms around his neck, and he very soon will fall top of her—preferably onto a softer surface like a couch or a mattress)
At the time though, Natasha thinks Steve's affection for her is misplaced, but again. She can never tell him no. Because she—naturally—loves him (makes sense for her to have caught feelings for him than it does vice versa, she cannot aee what he sees), she's prome to becoming absolute putty for him, absolutely boneless the moment his strong arms envelope her
Butttttt—something has to give eventually, right? But this case, rather than ruining everything and making their arrangement no longer possible, it works out incredibly well in their favor but in the most unexpected way possible
Why? Because Natasha finds out she's pregnant
'But how?,' Someone might be wondering. Simple! When you have your womb removed, you're suddenly become a lot more comfortable with doing the deed unprotected. Except, when you do that with a Super Soldier and you do it very often with him for a long enough time, what he leaves behind has an effect on *your* body. It might even reverse all your unwatned hysterectomy and literally GROW BACK a functioning womb
And because you're dong it with him often while unprotected, youre not gonna find out you grew it back via having a period. No, you're gonna find out via your doctor telling you that you're preggers
So yeah, imagining soulmating so hard that when you have a main reason for why you can't be with that person, the universe goes out of its way to make it so that very reason no longer rings true, just so you stop making excuses and just KISS them already
Anyways, so Natasha is actually really, REALLY excited about this because this is utterly LIFE CHANGING for her. Suddenly, her having a family is actually plausible, and all because she fell in love with the right person who made this very desire a reality for her by literally not giving up on her
Obviously Natasha tells Steve because why on Earth would she keep this from him?? And he is so, SO over the moon that he kisses her. But not hungrily this time, just passionately, ADORINGLY. And she lets him and even returns it in turn
And then, the whole time of pregnancy actually acts like a transition stage for them, for her allowing Steve to take care of her, to fuss over her in other ways outside the bedroom. It acts like a stepping stone to her actually becoming okay with being in relationship with Steve, transitioning them finally entering a romantic relationship
And I think even more improtantly, they don't have a son. They have a daughter, because girl mom Natasha is everything to me. I think even just a little girl, one who resembles her at least to a degree and is her flesh and blood, makes it a lot easier for Natasha to forgive herself, to learn to how to love herself. But also—in a breaking the cycle kinda way, she can give her daughter the childhood she herself should've had, an incredibly loving home with incredibly loving parents that their daughter will always feel safe enough to turn to whenever she wants or needs thwm
And I think Steve also finds healing in a baby girl. I think in turn, it heightens his protectiveness of Natasha. Just something how they're both HIS girls (but in two, completely different ways) intensifies the way he feels as tho he has something he needs to protect.
This? This is a fanfic I so BADLY want to read, but with my ADHD? Motivation doesn't match my want, and it's also what makes me willing to write. I'd write it if I could, but I genuinely don't have it in me, which makes so, SO sad. I'd give anything to be able to read this omg. I struggle with writing anything multi-chapter, and this would be a very, VERY daunting one-shot. I just couldn't, tho however much I want to 🥺🥺😭
Only if like....I could get a ghostwriter on this istg. Like I wish there was another 'occupation' within fandom where fanfic readers bring these hyper specific fanfic plot ideas or an outline of a story they want to read, and they get a version of a ghostwriter who'll basically write the plot for them. Not just prompts, not just requests, but an outright outline and they breathe it to life
