PSA! HELP ME GET AN ESA DOGGO!
Hey everyone! Iâm sorry if this seems sudden or out of the blue, but I need some help! So, I had mentioned this on my tumblr page here -> foxroddraws.tumblr.com/post/17⊠But basically whatâs going on is, my anxiety has been getting extremely bad lately. To the point where Iâm hyperventilating, shaking, my heart is pounding and itâs becoming a struggle. Before it was never this bad, it would just be a small heart race for a couple minutes, but now this is lasting for an hour or so and Iâm becoming exhausted. Worst of all, thereâs no reason for it to happen. Thereâs nothing that triggers it or anything! I canât take medication because I struggle taking meds in general and I donât have enough money to spend on therapy, nor do I feel comfortable talking to a stranger about my problems. Iâve thought about this for a while and Iâve talked to a few people, and I think I know what I need. I need an ESA Dog! What does ESA stand for? ESA stands for Emotional Support Animal. This is an animal thatâs main purpose is to help you coop and feel relaxed in certain situations, just by simply existing. These animals help with PTSD, Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety, and so on. For me, my anxiety makes it hard to go in some public places or public events, due to the fear of judgement or being close to a lot of people. An ESA is there to simply help you stay calm and relaxed simply with cuddles and affection. Simply holding and petting your dog slows down your heart rate and releases chemicals in your brain that help you to relax. How can you get an ESA? Any animal can become an ESA as long as they have standard obedience training and donât cause a public disturbance. You need a verified letter from your doctor or a therapist (therapist is better since theyâre psychological professionals) that states as a ESA being a âneeded prescriptionâ for you. Do ESAs need a vest or papers? Technically, they donât need a vest, but a vest helps with not being questioned too much by store workers. The only thing you really need on you at all times is the paper your doctor/therapist signed for you. This proves that the animal is an ESA and that you are allowed to have it with you. Keep in mind that some places do not allow ESAs, since they do not have the same standards as a service dog does. Does an ESA need special training, like a Service Dog does? Nope!  an ESAs only purpose is to just exist, because them existing and being by you is all that most people need. However, you can train them, if you want, to preform certain actions, such as compression therapy. But itâs not required. The only training they need is basic Obedience and Social training. What do you need from us to help? There are two options! Unfortunately, due to my living situation, I canât afford or get a dog right now. Main reason is that money is tight and my mom wouldnât approve of an ESA dog. On top of that, we have 3 pets total and it would cause mayhem to have a fourth one. Right now, I need to save up enough money to move out, have a stable income, and pay for the expenses of buying the dog, getting the stuff I need for ESA things, classes, food, and supplies. My plan wasnât to get one soon soon, but within 2 years I was thinking that would be the best time for me. So to help you can either; 1).
