okay so basically Itsy got an orange tree at Ikea and she was telling us about it on the groupchat, and she was like wtf do i do with an orange tree ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

and i remembered reading that peeing on lemon trees was good, so i told her that. she then told me that she would never pee on her tree, and i told her she lacked academic curiosity for whether peeing does help, right? and i told her to get a second one in which she shouldn’t pee and compare the results. see, i am but a mere scientist doing science

so she told me to get my own tree to pee on and i told her that at least my oranges will be better than hers, and now she is shaming me in front of everyone for believing in science

memes are banned in the group chat. not because of controversy or because r&h decided to actually use the group chat for what it was orignially meant for: organising events and passing info easily. nah, the meme ban started when they realised that tango just... didnt understand memes. he always took everything literally, which always lead to an increase in questions after every meme posted

they did the maths, they did the graphs. after a long debate (in which the only person that wasnt high was completely drunk), they decided that the best way to solve the problem was to completely ban memes

(they have an extra chat, in which memes are allowed, which is named the Meme Van™ Escape the Meme Ban. weidly enough tango is also added, and thus they have solved nothing)

Bitty doesn't get Jack a ring when he proposes. He knows Jack, and knows that once that guy gets a ring he will never take it off, despite knowing that it is not the smartest idea considering the constant risk of dislocating his finger. Instead he buys him a nice chain which he can wear all the time Jack doesn't get Bitty a ring when he proposes. Rings are not the best for baking, so instead he gets him a nice chain. The lady at the counter makes a comment on how similar it is to the one she just sold to a polite southern gentleman He ran all the way back to their apartment just to be able to propose first. He was too late. He underestimated Bitty's abilities to charm people: Grave Mistake. The shopkeeper had rang him and gave him 5 minutes of advantage 35 minutes later Jack arrives completely sweaty and Bitty gives up, because only Jack would forget that a) taxis exist and b) he had taken his car to buy the necklace. #this boy, with the two of them wearing similar chains while being kissed by the sunset through the window, became his most liked picture on his instagram

i’ve seen a lot of posts recently about the frogs’ majors and i really like the idea of chowder who is a linguistics major and languages minor.

he loves being able to talk to people in their first language and it shocks smh every time he breaks out into a new language

he’s fluent in english and mandarin and at a conversational level in about a dozen others. he’ll get excited late at night and add another language to his duolingo account and speed through the first 50% roughly

he loves learning about the development of languages and why we speak the way we do

he took a compsci coding class because dex was doing it and he wanted to study different coding languages and their development and syntax

he and Nursey love to gossip and talk about the team in arabic

once he spoke in shitty Yoruba to Ransom while he was having a bit ong a long day and Ransom almost burst into tears because he just wanted to call his mum and not think. he was slow and careful with chowder and helped him teach him more than just the basics and arabic loan words

he and Farmer first went on a date because they wanted to do a language swap where he taught her mandarin and she taught him spanish.

he’ll translate positive tumblr posts into as many languages as he can because ‘everyone deserves positivity guys!!’

he gets REALLY MAD about grammar elitism because it’s so classist, abelist and racist! and a little bit because he’d be more fluent in a few more languages if grammar wasn’t SO HARD

he’s also just a huge nerd about language aquistion but this post is getting too long for how tired i am. but like just imagine him playing with his nieces and screaming in the group text about them learning new words!
