I got hit with a pretty big E.R bill for my daughter (thanks healthcare) and my computer after only a year, is already on the fritz. All of this before the holidays and, surprise surprise, my husband is going to be laid off for a bit right after Christmas. Most of you have already bought my game and stories but reblogs would be wonderful.
Welcome to the Night Market. Book 1 in a series. The Night Market is an interactive fiction novel in which you awaken to a lantern filled world with no memory of how you got there. Desperate to get home, you must find the gate that leads back to your world, while navigating a foreign land, rife with political intrigue, arbitrary rules and secrets designed to keep you distracted. Nine barons rule the market , a place so vast that not even they can truly know its scope. But, one baron holds the key to your safe return home. Yet, no one has seen or heard from them in over a decade.

You shouldn't exist.
You know that, you can feel it deep within your bones, in your mind. You're something that should have never been. No one thought it possible, that a half-werewolf and a half-vampire could conceive.
Yet here you are, a Pricolici.
Pricolici: a werewolf/vampire fusion in the Romanian folklore.
You're the first and only of your kind. Lucky you. Your very existence has been kept secret from majority of the clans. Be that vampire, werewolf, or hunter.
Update.
the rpg- while still very early- has a lot of the same themes as Windwood did. except just a lot more religious. you play as an angel during doomsday. originally for windwood i had this whole scene planned out for discovering the garden of eden and meeting god themself and i probably wonât share it unless specifically asked to.
on another hand, iâm still writing and developing IF, just on a different account. iâll only start posting about it once i get a demo out there though. the only thing i can say about it is that itâs about being a werewolf in a medieval fantasy setting. just in case youâre wondering why iâve decided to scrap windwood but continue this project, itâs most likely due to a change in interest. while windwood is still fantasy and very much something iâm into, it was not well planned out and the plot was not cohesive at all. thereâs a chance iâll pick it back up later on, just not anytime soon.
i will, however, post more about my worldbuilding i did for windwood. itâs just so scrumptious to me. especially the angels.
have a lovely day!
okay so i know i like dipped and whatnot but thatâs because i have been working super duper hard and have decided to scrap windwood and make it a pixelated rpg, itâll still be like super early in development but some characters from windwood will be transferred over to this game, like foster and ness and whatnot. this game will take place way into the future and if it does well iâll probably go back and continue writing windwood, since the events of windwood will still have happened in this game.
super sorry about this turn of events!
What is the age rating for this if?
Currently it is 14+ though set to change later on. Windwood will include stuff like violence and swearing and blood etc. On another topic, whether or not it will include optional sexual content will be decided later on, though I do have plans to write side stories for certain characters, if I choose for the game itself to not include sexual content then there will be side stories for it.
Thank you for the ask! x
from 1-10, how nice are each of the ROs?
A majority of them are actually assholes and I love that for them. Of course there are a couple nice ones though!
I will also assume this is before relationships and early crushing stages, because after relationships all of them will of course be nice to their S/O!
Marian: I wanna say 8/10, because heâs nice to the MC, as theyâve been friends for a while, but to other people heâs more of a 6/10.
Ness: again, itâs a little different for how nice he is to the MC and to other people. To the MC itâs 8.5/10 and to other people itâs a 3/10. He used to be so nice and polite but after going evil..
Foster: heâs a.. 4/10 overall. Heâs not exactly used to talking to people. Youâll see what heâs like later on.
Casimir: a 6/10. Heâs polite for the sake of his position but heâs not going to make it a good time to talk to him. In private heâs more of a 5/10.
Amihan: a neutral 5/10. Heâs not outright mean but heâs not nice about it either. He does what he must, and if youâre in the way of it he will push you aside.
Freyja: a solid 1/10. Sheâs practically feral. She lashes out and acts rude, even if youâre trying to be nice.
Sonja: a 4/10, sheâs a little cold and mean but sheâs not downright evil. Sheâll give you the cold shoulder and all but sheâs not going to leave you for dead.
Maeryn: absolutely 1/10. I would go lower if I could. Sheâs actively trying to kill the MC, destroying everything in her path to get to them.
Lumina: a nice 8/10. She is kind and lighthearted, like a true priestess of Andermyne.
Eliana: a 7/10, sheâs nice when she wants to be, but sometimes you can get her real angry.
Thank you for the ask!
43. What is the DND alignment? For all the ROs
Here you go! Some of them are a little easier than the others(Freyja).
Marian is neutral good. He does what heâs told but heâs not exactly a big fan of following rules. Heâs also just naturally inclined to do the right thing, values instilled upon him at a young age.
Ness is lawful evil. As much as I may want to say heâs chaotic or even neutral evil, I just canât picture him being chaotic. He liked to follow rules and wasnât a fan of getting in trouble before turning all dark lord, and even afterwards heâs not necessarily chaotic.
Foster is true neutral. Heâs not a good person, but heâs also not an evil one. There are no rules for him to follow and nothing he can really get in trouble doing considering his position. He doesnât care if heâs being mean and he doesnât care if heâs being nice.
Casimir is lawful good. Being a prince, he has to follow the rules, and heâs not a fan of evil. He may come across as mean at first but everything he does is for his kingdom. He does what he knows he must.
Amihan is lawful neutral. His only point in life is to protect his home. Heâs not inclined to niceties or being an asshole. Similarly to Casimir, Amihan does what heâs supposed to, whatâs expected of him, because he doesnât know of a life where he doesnât.
Freyja is chaotic neutral. She does what she wants whenever she wants to. She doesnât care or even know whatâs good or bad. All her life sheâs just had one goal, to survive. And survive she does, getting her hands bloody if thatâs what it takes.
Sonja is lawful neutral. She does what sheâs told, but she really doesnât care much for the life of a princess. Always overlooked and tossed aside, Sonja is used to being second choice, so she doesnât care how others view her.
Maeryn is chaotic evil. She hunts down those sheâs told, enjoying it. She only cares about the hunt, about her target, about the adrenaline and bloodlust. Maeryn has no sympathy for the families of those sheâs killed, she just wants blood.
Lumina is lawful good. A priestess at a church, she believes the path to greatness is a path of peace and kindness. Sheâs naĂŻve and impressionable, always wanting to go whatâs good and what will help people. Lumina follows the rules, she does whatever she can to be a good person.
Eliana is chaotic neutral. Sheâs not good but not bad, and she does what she wants when she wants, making important decisions without so much as sparing a thought on the outcome. A dangerous thing for a high born noble to do. Eliana is used to getting what she wants, and she knows how to get what she wants.
Thank you for the ask! <3
Hello there! Can you tell us more about the unnatural traits the MC can have? ^^
Hi! When customizing the MC, you can have unnaturally colored eyes like red or pink or yellow, as well as hair. The MC also has a certain trait that stands out which can be antlers, rabbit ears, wings, scales, horns, or a tail(more to be added soon!). When you choose why kind of fae the MC is, you will have the option of if the MC resembles that part of themself more, like having patches of fur, or feathers, or pointed ears, or even dark sclera.
While the hair and eye colors are optional, the extra trait and glow to the eyes are not, the MC will always have something that sets them apart from humans, something that marks them as fae. And when the MC gets older thereâll be choices for scars or tattoos or both. The MC will also be able to have piercings then.
Thank you so much for asking!

You had me at 'Customize your MC to the max'...
Oh and did I see something about a Dark Lord...that's it, that all I need, might as well go ahead and send me the Demo Early, I need it!!đđ€Ł
Yes!! I love having a lot of customization in games! I knew immediately that Windwood would have a lot of customization options.
The Dark Lord is actually one of my favorites, his personality is just so fun to write. Both before and after the timeskip.
Thank you so much for sending this in! I know my blog is a little⊠desolate.. at the moment, but Iâm working on it!
Things that People Forget About When Writing Sword Fights
You donât have to dodge by a foot. You only have to dodge by an inch.
Not all swords are made the same way. You wouldnât fight with a katana the same way you would fight with a broadsword.
You donât need to aim for the heart or the head. Get the vein in wrist, and you could incapacitate that hand.
Small cuts matter. If youâre cut up enough, youâre going to start suffering from blood loss, and thatâll put you at a disadvantage.
The blade isnât the only thing that matters. There isnât some set of rules in sword fighting where you can only stick the stabby end into the other person. Hit them in the head with the hilt, and theyâll feel it.
If there are multiple attackers, you want to incapacitate or kill each one as quickly as possible. Endurance matters, especially when youâre not only swinging/stabbing/aiming something that is 2-5 lbs (ceremonial ones were a lot heavier, but wouldnât be generally fought with) but also taking/blocking heavy blows from at least one opponent.
You donât have to dodge
by a foot. You only have
to dodge by an inch.
Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
That final haiku actually makes for a pretty good maxim!
All the above. (Including the haiku.) :)
But also, regarding the not-just-the-stabby-end advice: significant sections of the numerous medieval-and-newer swordfighting manuals now available in translation are devoted to the art of clobbering or otherwise messing up people with the hilt of your sword in numerous inventive ways. Many of these are potentially quite lethal, and mean you wonât have to waste time cleaning your blade.
âŠAdditionally, while thinking in this mode, feeling the need to mention a favorite move of my iaido master, back in the day: the one where you spear your (seated-across-from-you) opponent in the gut with the hilt of your katana as youâre drawing it⊠then finish the draw and chop your opponentâs head off. The move is called âMutinyâ (donât ask me what it wouldâve been in Japanese; if he ever told us, I canât remember). But I canât tell you how many times Shihan made us practice that damn move. There was just something about it that appealed to him.
Anyway, generally speaking: if youâre going to write swordfights, you may not have the time, inclination or money to study the sword yourself, but you can at least read the fecking manuals. Theyâre easily found. Hereâs a link to one of the best-known ones, circa 1459.* These will break you quickly of any idea that medieval-period swordfighting was some kind of inelegant boring bash-clash-bash-clash operation.
âŠOh, and re the recommendation about not going for the heart or the head: This is definitely on the money. If I was in a swordfight and was in a rush to get it over with, the femoral artery would be my choice. Wait for your opponent to expose it (or get them to, usually by you stepping back out of range so they have to step forward, exposing any opportunities offered by their leg armor while itâs flexing). When they do, chop deep on the inside of the leg above the knee. Then get out of range again so your opponent doesnât fall over on top of you. Two minutes or so for them to go profoundly shocky: then five to seven minutes for them to bleed out. But regardless of the timings, since youâll likely have bisected one or more of their adductor muscles on that side, they definitely wonât be getting up to run after youâŠ
*Particularly directing your attention to the plates illustrating judicial divorce combat.
My 2 cents as a rather newbie fencer: that thing where opponents are just dramatically pushing against each otherâs blades is newbie mistake. You donât fight the blade like that. If you get someone to fight you blade like that all you have to do is swoop your blade down and around theirs because then the force theyâve been using will pull them off center and you have an opening.
Love the manual added above. If someone has trouble visualizing from text Iâd recommend searching SCA lessons for fencing or heavy fighting on youtube. Many videos will cite the manuals they studied.
I think a big issue in the IF community is that readers need to realize when to walk a way from something that isnât for them. Youâre not going to like everything out there, itâs okay to say something isnât for you! But that doesnât mean an author needs to change their story, that is often times written for themselves first, to make it something that youâll like.
