The name that the girl uttered immediately made him cringe and shake his head as he kept his gaze on her. âI think Daniel and I appreciate people differently,â he chuckled. âHe appreciates with his dick and I appreciate with my heart,â he nodded a couple of times and feigned a frown his face as if he was sorry that she actually knew the blond. His fake frown grew deeper when she said her boyfriend blew her off. âThat sucks. Hopefully, youâll have him all to yourself by the end of the night.â Sam smiled and offered her his arm. âThereâs no one thatâll be upset on my part. My girlfriend â ex-girlfriend broke up with me not too long ago.â
"He is his dick.â The clarification wasnât necessary but she approved of their mutual dislike, it was perhaps the only thing she thought they would ever have in common even if Sam had not meant it that way. The thought of anyone appreciating anything with their heart made her cringe but she decided not to mention that while she was still figuring out what he was worth. âMaybe,â she mused, âHeâll pay.â It was a strange sentence but she wasnât about to clarify, she was the type of woman who held no reservations with what she meant and vengeance would be had eventually if she got her hands on Vaughn. She took his arm with glee, maybe a few magazine photos wouldnât hurt after all, her boss would be happy and Vaughn would be quite the opposite, âOh, really? What did you do? Blow her off at a carnival and ruin her life?â
