I also think Lauren and Josiah are trying to leave. Maybe not separate from the family but at least from the show. They’re very private and Lauren gets a lot of unnecessary hate online. Plus Lauren seems no nonsense so the show might not be her style. She was the first person to have the family look their newborn through the window even before Covid while Kendra gave birth and went to a wedding the next weekend. I think she’s independent and different from the rest of the family.

I definitely get the vibe that she is different, too. Some people have also pointed out that every time josh is near, you can visibly see Lauren grabbing Bella extra tight and trying to stay away. Add in the fact that Lauren was one of the only ones liking Jill’s posts back when it was revealed that she drinks alcohol, I just know that its going to be Lauren next.

is it really that hard to believe anna is simultaneously a victim of her upbringing while also blameworthy in this current situation? she was taught that the woman is always at fault if her husband strays but after the first scandal in 2015 she lost most of my sympathy because she was knowingly putting her children at risk.

And don't argue that she didn't have a support system if she left. Her older brother publicly said that he would have supported her leaving Josh and she also has sisters who defected from IBLP.

It’s such a hard situation. I do think the one thing we can blame her for is not leaving, even though I’m aware of how hard that would be. I think a really good mother would get her children out of that environment no matter how hard it was, but I guess I can’t entirely hate on Anna cause she’s just doing what she has been brainwashed into doing and that’s sticking by her husband (who her cult basically sees as an extension of God) no matter what. I also wonder if she realized how much danger her children were in by her staying. The first scandal was about his “youthful behaviour” (🤮 I don’t support this way of categorizing his behaviour but I’m just quoting the family) and his cheating behaviour, so she may have seen the CSA stuff as a “thing of the past” and therefore, her children were fine. Right now for me, she’s kind of in this grey spot - I can’t fully hate on her but she also doesn’t have my sympathy. If she stays after this, I will absolutely think that she’s delusional and an unfit mother tbh. I understand it’s hard to leave abusive relationships but your children come first and like you said, she does have a way out.

I think that sums me up pretty well too. I feel so conflicted about Anna. I don't know why. It's such a sad situation all around.

I also personally am conflicted, but ultimately I believe that when you have children you are completely and inexcusably responsible for their wellbeing, no matter how difficult it is for you to do what’s right for them. In my mind, it’s not about how hard it is for Anna to leave or not, and it’s not about being brainwashed—it’s about her failing to put her children first and continuing to endanger them. Anna most definitely knows sexual abuse is wrong. She chose to ignore it.

ok one thing I see a lot mostly in the comments or tags on posts is people saying things like ‘wow you can even tell by his smile he’s a piece of shit’ or ‘you can see that they’re a scumbag just by the look in their eyes’ and like………no you fucking can’t lmao. bad people’s faces don’t look a certain way. they don’t constantly have this ‘glimmer’ in their eye that gives away their shittyness lol.

i know people like the drama of saying stuff like that but if you could look at someone’s face and know they sucked Ted Bundy probably wouldn’t have been that successful idk. just a rant ok i’m done.
