so my dad is a college professor and he just got alerted recently that in an effort to go “paperless,” the faculty is having their printers taken away. My dad decided to take this opportunity and… create a meme? So he goes proudly up to me and tells me “I created a meme!!!” and lo and behold…
my dad’s first meme
he was so proud of it and he emailed it individually to other faculty and nobody gave him any acknowledgement, he came into my room all sad. pls share to give my father the meme support he deserves

An example of Lenz's Law
An example of Lenz’s Law
Video’s like these; apart from being extremely satisfying to watch, are a perfect representation of one of the most fundamental laws to almost all motors and machinery, Lenz’s Law.
Lenz’s law states that: “An induced electromotive force (emf) always gives rise to a current whose magnetic field opposes the original change in magnetic flux”.
Confusing on the surface, but remembering that:

breaking bad, fight club, rick and morty, clockwork orange, and the catcher in the rye are all arguably good things - but if a man says they are his FAVORITE book/movie/tv show? RUN.
Can someone explain this to me?
They’re all works that are examinations of compelling but deeply flawed (usually narcissistic and violent) men. People rightly like all these works because they are good, but the implication of the original post is that if a guy says they are his favorite work, he is probably misunderstanding the point of the work and instead idolizing the male protagonist and is unable to recognize their flaws.
“You want a physicist to speak at your funeral. You want the physicist to talk to your family about the conservation of energy, so they will understand that your energy has not died. You want the physicist to remind your sobbing mother about the first law of thermodynamics; that no energy gets created in the universe, and that none dies. You want your mother to know that all your energy, every vibration, every Btu of heat, every wave of every particle that was her beloved child remains with her in this world. You want the physicist to tell your weeping father that amid energies of the cosmos, you gave as good as you got. And at one point you’d hope the physicist would step down from the pulpit and walk to your brokenhearted spouse there in the pew and tell him that all the photons that ever bounced off your face, all the particles whose paths were interrupted by your smile, by the touch of your hair, hundreds of trillions of particles, have raced off like children, their ways forever changed by you. And as your widow rocks in the arms of a loving family, may the physicist let her know that all the photons that bounced from you were gathered in the particle detectors that are her eyes, that those photons created within her constellations of electromagnetically charged neutrons whose energy will go on forever. You can hope your family will examine the evidence and satisfy themselves that the science is sound and that they’ll be comforted to know your energy’s still around. According to the law of the conservation of energy, not a bit of you is gone; you’re just less orderly.”

This is beautiful
1. Don’t rush. If there’s something you’ll miss, it will be the time you have now. 2. Stop wasting time blaming yourself and blaming others–things happen for a reason, even if the reason will make sense ten years down the road. 3. Don’t stay around toxic people just because you’re afraid of being alone. Being your own best friend has its perks, and there’s no one else you’ll spend more time with than yourself. 4. Be yourself, unapologetically. It may be embarrassing now, but you will learn that there’s nothing more interesting than someone true to themselves. 5. Don’t be afraid of voicing your thoughts, don’t be afraid of calling out people that hurt you. 6. Write. Write. Write. It will help you clear your mind and also distract yourself when you’re anxious. Writing will be your best friend. 7. Learn all you can, and enjoy it all you want. Knowledge is the only thing truly yours. 8. Be the friend you need, the friend you want. 9. Read all you can. You’ll find the words you can’t say in the lips of others, you’ll find shelter. 10. Love yourself. That’s the only love you will have, constantly, and the only one that will stick with you even if you fail.
Ten things I wish I could say my younger self // Flowerybooks. (via wnq-writers)
My first day of medical school is today! I am beyond excited.
My studying technique is:
1. Pre-read the lecture notes to get an understanding and mental-map on what is going to be covered 2. Take notes during lectures 3. Make concept maps of the notes and use your books as supplemental resources (to further explain things and provide examples if needed) 4. Study the more difficult material first 5. After piecing together the concepts, memorize the necessary facts/values/etc. 6. Self-test with practice questions from a reputable question bank (such as UWorld, Osmosis, Pastest & Firecracker)
This is my study approach–I will keep you posted on how it pays off 👍🏼

And people still continue to worship USA.
its because they’re all fed with lies
Look at her expression. She has no fear.
Probably because that's Li Thi Van playing the role of “Village Chief’s Daughter” in the feature film Platoon and the man holding a gun to her head would be William Dafoe, AKA the Green Goblin in Spider-Man
People are stupid enough on this website to believe that a US soldier in the middle of committing a war crime would actually let someone with a camera anywhere near them and let them get out alive
Hahahaha oh fuck one of them tried to defend themselves with this
Like we don’t get American movies in Brazil, are you serious?
that translates to “do you really expect me to think about anything i see for more than 10 seconds before reacting to it”
you don’t even have to see the movie but like
maybe fuckin reverse image search the damned thing before replying to it?
To be fair do Brazilians even have the internet?
Too many relationships lack true connection Just revolve around materialism and the need for affection.

“What if I didn’t care too much? ” he said while looking at her, trying to imagine that she’s someone else. That he’s not asking this question to someone he loves truly—for the fact that he doesn’t want to hurt her. He never wants to cause heartbreak, especially to her. But because he can’t take it any longer, he took a deep breath and continued, “You don’t need to answer me. I just…you know…I just really have to let this out. Because it’s hard. I know you’re not even asking me to care about you this much, you didn’t even ask me to hold you up whenever you feel that you’re about to shatter and fall to the ground. But I care, hell I still care. And you know the only reason why I do. Why I always claim to be—that person who is always on your side—and it doesn’t matter whether you’re on your darkest times or brightest hours. I’ll still be there, to cheer you up when you’re down, and to clap my hands for you, to hug you warmly and to congratulate you every time you achieved something you always wanted.”. He paused reminiscing all the good and bad times that they were together. He remembered the times she tried pushing him away. But he never left her. Because he knew that time was the moment that she needed him the most. “Yet now, I wonder. What if I didn’t fall in love with you? Will I still care about you? Will I’m going to be one of those people who left you once they were ignored by you? Will I’m still going to be here—standing firmly next to you? ”. he said. He didn’t wait for her answer, instead he continued saying, “I honestly don’t know what exactly I would do. Because the moment I saw you, I never imagined being away from you. I never saw myself leaving you. I never ever saw myself not caring this much about you. And that’s the reason why—it hurts at the same time.”. He looked at her just to find her staring back at him. With her eyes so beautiful that the stars weren’t enough to describe the way her eyes shone that night. He slowly grabbed her hands, closing it with his. And when he looked back at her, both of them have tears in their eyes, as he said “Because the truth is, no matter how hard I try to move my feet miles apart from you, I can’t. I just can’t run away from you.

She was romantic, perhaps perverted Love was pouring from her eyes She was too beautiful for her own good. She was vivid with her mouth, and her body a powerful thing. She denied every culture, and cried holy tears to God. She was terrifying. When I would kiss her it felt like God created the world in her mouth. I did not know how to touch her. She was a wet woman on fire. I did not know how the hell to love her. She was too much and I hated her for that. She was too much, and I loved her for it. In her presence I would die.
Her Bed Was A Kingdom by Royla Asghar (via poems-of-madness)
A good relationship is when two people accept each other’s past, support each other’s present, and love each other enough to encourage each other’s future.
Don’t Rush (via deceptivelips)
Take all the time you need to heal emotionally. Moving on doesn’t take a day. It takes a lot of little steps to be able to break free of your broken self.
