Verse One- Main. Freddy, in my portrayal, isn’t possessed; he hangs out with his three friends, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy on the daily, performing and scaring the night guard because it’s fun!
*Note about portrayal:
Freddy and the others, in this canon-divergent AU of sorts, are, again, not possessed, but they have the thinking skills of adults, pain sensors, can blush, cry, make realistic facial expressions, have longer fur/feathers, etc. They’re still animatronics… just not, ya know. They don’t have humans stuffed into their bodies.

- Freddy is gay, but closeted. He has an intense, very strong fear of ridicule and rejection, however, and therefore hasn’t told any of his friends; he’s very much in love with Bonnie. Additionally, Freddy also fears that, if the kids that come to the place were to find out about his orientation, they would also reject it.
- Terrible self-esteem, impostor syndrome, and he cares about others to a fault, often finding himself exhausted for “some reason” because he usually doesn’t realize that neglecting himself in favor of everyone else first- others are always first- will do that.
- In my AU, the animatronics are able to eat and drink (even though they don’t feel hunger or thirst), can smell and taste things, etc. Freddy and the other three have maintenance checks every Wednesday night when the establishment closes. The employees, frankly, find it gross and irritating to remove the metal ‘stomach’ compartment and dispose of whatever the animatronic has consumed. Rightfully so tbh.
- They can also cry, blush, and even faint if their system overheats or malfunctions in equivalence with humans’ overstimulation. It just doesn’t happen as easily as it can for us; for Freddy, he’s the most prone to overheating and/or fainting because the animatronics have internal mechanisms that serve as a nervous system or what-have-you. This is because he usually becomes “worked-up” the fastest, overloading his stress sensors and causing a temporary shutdown of his system.
- When he becomes nervous, his ears will move and angle around more without him doing it consciously, and if he’s actually scared, they’ll flatten against his head, and one of his ears will continually twitch in an uncontrollable ‘nervous tic’ of sorts.
- True to the nature of cartoon bears, Freddy’s fur is very soft, especially around his cheeks and ears. Plus, the children love receiving hugs from him! It’s one of his favorite parts of having either birthday parties or just daytime visits to the pizzeria!
- He’s become pretty good at balancing cake or pizza on his flat palm over time, and the youngest of the children often giggle and cheer because they think it’s cool; Freddy does it for that very reason, puffing his chest and sometimes sneaking a fake mustache from the back room before he does this, speaking in a funny Italian accent… if it’s pizza being served. The kids LOVE that part!
- The deep belly laugh he’s famous for in the games isn’t actually his natural laugh- it’s done during onstage banter and performances for comedic purposes. The music box inside was designed, in this verse, to comfort children who are, for whatever reasons, frightened/sad/generally upset; if a child is upset, Freddy can often detect it if he isn’t preoccupied, and he’ll make his way over to help by sitting down with the child, making his eyes glow on and off (but not flicker), and, if the child wishes, put an arm around or hug them. The tune is quite handy in these cases!
