“No… N-no, don’t. You have no idea how hard it is growing up not knowing your dad… It’s so painful… I can’t put another kid through that.” He crawls closers to Freddy, leaning on his cold body. “I think I need to drop out of school so I can focus on my current career… This kid needs a future…”

“There are... other ways to get rid of a child. I don’t think it’s the best decision to drop out of school to pursue a career as a musician... Not that you can’t be very successful as a musician, but I think an education is important. None of this is your fault or responsibility.”

“No,” Freddy says simply. “If you won’t come to me, then I’ll come to you.” He leans down to kiss Gavin through the blanket, gently. “You can’t hide from your anxieties and fears forever. Would you at least eat the snacks I brought you?”

Gavin shakes his head, feeling another wave of tears hit his eyes. He breathes heavy and mutters, “I c-… Fre-Freddy, sh-she’s pregnant.” He reclines further on the bed, practically hurting himself against the wall. Letting Freddy see his tortured face, Gavin eyes plead to him with need.

“Honey…” Freddy says sympathetically, petting Gavin’s gross hair with a frown. He’s not used to feeling genuine sympathy and concern for people anymore, he got over that hundreds of years ago. “You know I’d do anything to make this better for you. I know you don’t want me to hurt her… no matter how much I’d like to… but I could make her forget you. Make her believe she wants to give the baby up… Anything.”

[txt] I could make him go to class, but I don’t want to have to use those kinds of powers on either of you.

Freddy comes through the window moments later and sits gracefully next to Gavin on the bed.

“Sit up and give me a kiss, Doll.”

Chase reclines peacefully to his phone, sitting close to Freddy and Gavin still.

Gavin curls the blanket closer to himself, hiding away from Freddy. His eyes are so dry, yet tears still manage to fall every now and then, making them sting. He sniffles a little and mutters, “Can you both leave…”

[txt] I’ll be over quickly with his favourite snack and a cute movie, so at least if he won’t leave bed, we can be with him.

[txt] The windows open so you can just fly in.

[txt] I don’t know why he’s being like this, though… He’s missed two exams already. He needs to come back to class or else he’ll be kicked out…

Chase cracks his knuckles, readying himself to lift the ladder. He props it against the roof’s ledge, making sure it’s right by Gavin’s window. Throwing on his backpack, he climbs the ladder and quietly slides the window open.

He sneaks by Gavin’s bed, sitting on it as he pulls out his phone. Chase shakes Gavin a few times, but the drummer refuses to get up. So he texts Freddy:

[txt] This kid has been sulking for almost a week now. I think you should come over and help me get him up. He’s refusing to do anything but lay here. I had to break into his fucking room again.

“Ahhh!! Hey you two!” Rocky hugs him back, keeping an arm on Cody’s back as they pull apart. “You’re looking healthy, for a vampire of course. God, your hair is so shiny… I swear it’s even more luscious than the last time I saw you.” He then looks at Freddy and says, “I didn’t expect you’d be one to play hide and seek. This is kind of exciting.”

“To be honest, I thought you were kidding. But maybe it will be fun, I’ll try not to use any of my abilities against you. Lead the way to the fort?” Freddy asks. He smiles at Rocky, but keeps an eye on Cody. He’s not sure he trusts Cody to play this game, he hasn’t let Cody out of his sight longer than it takes to shower.

“Is Reco playing with us?” Cody asks.

Freddy and Cody show up to Rocky’s house shortly after dark. Freddy starts to knock, but Cody just rolls his eyes and opens the door. Freddy frowns at him, but follows him in.

They find Rocky after a little bit of searching, and Cody runs up to him to give him a hug. “Hi, Rocky...”

“Hello,” Freddy also says.
