I think it’s really important that Ele and Edo had sex for the first time in his house. I’ve watched that scene in Skam NL as well as Skam Austin (I’m not sure on the others), and they both had the scene at the Noora’s house, which I liked. It’s her space, she feels safe and comfortable there, it’s nice. But for Italia to do it at Edoardo’s house adds another layer to that scene. 

Ele’s sexual assault happened in Edoardo’s home. That space is a space that has a massive trauma attached to it for her, and yet, she chose to have her first time with her boyfriend in that space. I think it shows not only how much she loves Edoardo, but also how safe he makes her feel. 

By all accounts that space should be a place where Ele never wanted to go again, much less a place where she would want to be sexually intimate and extremely vulnerable with someone, but Edoardo is her safe place. He protects her and looks out for her, and he makes her feel safe, and the fact that they had sex at his house really proves it. She would never have felt comfortable doing that in that house if Edoardo didn’t make her feel safe, just him. It didn’t matter that she was ready to do it, it didn’t matter that she was in a better place personally, the trauma attached to the place would never have been something she could push past if he didn’t make her feel safe enough that it didn’t matter where they were. 

Edoardo makes Eleonora feel so safe and loved that she is not only finally willing and ready to engage in sexual intimacy again without fear, but she is also able to feel that safety in that space, and thats a really beautiful thing.
