Meet the Developer mode

Attention style developers

We've added a new developer feature in FreeStyler extension to make creating new style much easier. With its help you can start creating new style right on from the page of said site. Here's what you'll need to do:

Open FreeStyler menu;

Click "Create style for this site" bar;

Select for which pages style will be applied - for exact URL, URLs with prefix or for whole domain;

The style editor will be started with selected style settings and predefined name. You just need to start writing CSS or to create style with Visual Editor.

Dear users! As per your requests we've created a new method to prevent easily styles from changing the pages you do not want to change.

As per your requests we've created a new method to prevent easily styles from changing the pages you do not want to change. We called it "exceptions".

If the style applied on the page it should not apply; you can fix it in few clicks by adding an exception for this style.

Here's how you can do so:

in the main FreeStyler menu select style you do not want to be applied to the page and go to its details by clicking the wrench button;

click "Do not apply style here" and select how 'wide' the new exceptions should be: just for current URL, for the whole site/domain or something in between;

click Apply to confirm the new exception.

That's all - now this style would not change the current page. You can manage the exceptions in the menu or the Style Manager.

Hi everyone!

Meet our new visual editor! Now you can create user styles with ease even if you do not have profound knowledge of CSS. Just follow these simple steps:

go to site you want to restyle;

use main FreeStyler menu to create new style for this site;

select elements on the page and change its appearance: change font, colors, hide or move elements in few clicks with visual editor panel.

Style will be saved automatically. You can also share your new style with the community by uploading it to FreeStyler.WS catalog.

If you want to switch back to the full-featured style CSS editor, click "Code editor" button and also check out the corresponding option in the Styles manager.

Hi all!

We are happy to announce FreeStyler 2.4.1 for Chrome. We are constantly trying to make FreeStyler easier to use, yet more powerful and comfortable to create new styles.

Here's what's new in the recent update:

Loading speed of the FreeStyler popup menu drastically improved. Also, from now on you can work with installed styles with no need for a whole menu to load - style suggestions and other information will load in the background.

Exceptions added. Now in few clicks, you can add exceptions for sites you do not want to be re-styled.

Import/Export - export all installed styles to the text file and import it back after a clean install or to use on another computer.

"Create style" in the popup menu - start writing a new style for currently viewing site in three clicks.

Visual editor - all you need to create a style is a mouse and you imagination. No CSS knowledge needed. Just select page elements and change its appearance with visual controls on the editor panel.

Forum. Discuss styles, style development, ask questions and share your experience. http://freestyler.ws/forum/

New "How to create first style" (http://freestyler.ws/help/how-to-create-style-using-browser-extension) added. Old documentation also revised.

Private messages - now it's possible to contact any FreeStyler user directly.

Email notifications. Style authors will receive notifications about new comments on their styles pages, as well as new mentions and some other events. You can always change notification in your profile settings.

This one doesn't look like any of the previous styles made by me, you know! This style changes the website color scheme completely according to your choice. Pick any background color you like, define one out of three background textures (you're free to ignore texture at all), and choose colors of fonts (and hyperlinks) on your own preference.

Such a wide variety of options for the style's customization, isn't it? Just a few clicks to create either light, or dark versions of the same style!

Push the “Customize style” button and choose the colors you prefer. The style's default color scale is dark, but it's no bother to change it. ;)

Have you ever caught yourself at abstracting from one thing in favor of another while web-surfing Vk.com?

Honestly, I created this style (https://freestyler.ws/style/133943) for my own private purpose, but now I see how useful it can be for a wide range of the Vk.com users.

First, I hid all the ads, though it's not essential for the English version I use.

I also removed comments, likes and reposts.

It means you can't either see likes and comments from other people, or leave your own.

You may find it rough, but there's plenty of time you can save if you use direct messages only.

Most of settings are moved to parameters, so you can configure the style by preference.

Hope this style will help making you communications more efficient :)
