Welcome to RIVIERA HEIGHTS, a fictional southern Californian city. Located just two hours outside of the sprawling city of Los Angeles, Riviera Heights was founded 74 years ago by two of LA’s most wealthy and prestigious families. They wanted the city to be a safehaven for the rich and famous of LA who preferred to live a more subtle and relaxed lifestyle away from the glitz and glamour; somewhere that they could raise their families without the prying eyes of the media. That notion didn’t last for very long because the city soon expanded, with construction of new businesses and schools. The most notable seemed to be RIVIERA UNIVERSITY, affectionately just known as RU, which was constructed and opened in the early 80s. Riviera University immediately gained notoriety and attention as being the go-to college for the offspring of the wealthy and famous. In addition to that, RU had some of the best programs the nation had to offer, more specifically in their arts and sports departments. The school’s population grew at a rapid pace, molding Riviera Heights into more of a college town than the upscale suburbia that it once was. Now today, Riviera Heights’ population sits over 75,000 ( 45,000 of those just being college students! ) as it becomes more affordable to live in the city due to the younger generation heavily populating it. Riviera Heights is still a nice city but like every city, it now has it’s rougher and grittier areas. Everyone who’s anyone in Riviera knows each other and the city prides itself on having a tight and close-knitted sense of community and family values despite the rumors and scandal that follow the young civilians of this small town.

RIVIERA HEIGHTS is a real-life roleplay based in a FICTIONAL CITY, so despite being located just two hours away from Los Angeles, Riviera Heights isn’t a real city at all ─ at least not to our knowledge. This roleplay will be based around RIVIERA UNIVERSITY and the bustling city of Riviera Heights. This is a college roleplay but we also focus on real-life themes and development, following students as they navigate their lives throughout college and after. We encourage everyone to join, despite being a college student or a civilian.
