Often, it’s through the beauty and empathy in music that we’re reminded how gorgeous and formative pain and experience can be. James Vincent McMorrow’s music is an ultimate example of this, and as a result, his songs serve as good material for further tweaking and imaginative editing. Toronto’s Daniel Ceasar recently offered up his own cover of JVM’s exquisite Cavalier, calling his tender, gospel leaning version Chevalier. Fellow Canadian HMLT follows the cover up with a remix of Daniel’s emotionally charged song, giving the song a more spacious atmosphere and lush, deeply soulful vibe. It’s the kind of music that stops time.
