i don't care if i sound like a complainer or im beating a dead horse, but all the promotion that tvl is gettingâthe magazines and episode-breakdown couch convo/podcasts and in-universe commercials and live concerts and tons of alternate previews and fucking fashion designer collaborationsâcompared to the next to nothing that the previous two black and brown-led seasons got really feels purposeful. like amc got their audience built off of their diverse cast, and now they're shifting to a whiter brand, perhaps what they'd wanted to do all along, and are doing their best to advertise that as much as possible.
especially when the pushback is that: "oh, but this is all on-brand for lestat~!" as if there's nothing that can be on-brand to promote louis? or claudia? or armand?
you think POM (putting aside the zionist shilling ofc) couldn't do commercials with armand pulverizing pomegranates in a blender?! SUS!
you think louis can't do audiobooks of excerpts? (those hockey boys did a whole audiobook about frikkin fairies ffs.) people rave about jacob anderson's accent work all the time, yet no one let him do a book reading event for the alphabettery for iwtv's anniversary, or james' baldwin's books for black history month, NOTHING! wwdits got wesley snipes to appear in-character as Blade, and jacob's gushed about Sinners 1000x, and yet NOTHING?! not even a Black vampires zoom call run thru BET, or an Essence magazine cover for halloween when y'all literally mentioned the essence festival in 2x8!? but nope, there's nothing in-character for jacob/louis to do for promo! SUS!
you think claudia/baby lulu can't have an installment as an american girl doll, or a funko, or a plushie? (matter fact: why is all the plushie merch being made & sold by FANS, and not the frikkin company itself?! clearly there's a demand for it!) SUS!
why is it that amc only has bright ideas all of a sudden when it's lestat & sam's the only one present on magazine covers & press events--when back when it was louis he had to always share the spotlight with sam!? this is all MIGHTY SUS, amc.

we have to start running a massive PSA campaign to young gay people so everyone understands there is a difference between being a dom and being a top and between being a sub and being a bottom. and also that sometimes you are neither a sub nor a bottom and you're just like shy. we need to be handing out flyers we need ads at every train station spreading the word
pls support trans girls and trans women who like traditionally masculine things
no seriously please reblog this ive seen so many posts saying to support trans boys and trans men who like traditionally feminine things and those posts are good!! i love them!!
but i have never in my life seen a post saying to support masculine trans girls and trans women or trans girls and trans women who like traditionally masculine things and its really important to understand that showing support for trans women in any form is just as important as showing support for trans men so please, please reblog this.
support trans women and trans girls. support trans women and trans girls who like traditionally masculine things. trans women and trans girls who like traditionally masculine things are not any less valid than trans women and trans girls who donât!!
I really wish âunlearning internalized misogynyâ hadnât become synonymous with âlearn to like being feminine.â Thatâs true for some people but itâs not true for everyone and it shouldnât be true for everyone. Some people donât like femininity because of internalized misogyny, but some people donât like it because theyâre just not feminine. Itâs not for everyone. Not liking pink because itâs just not one of your favorite colors isnât interalized misogyny, and not liking it because it reminds you of the pain of having femininity forced on you growing up isnât internalized misogyny either. You donât have to âunlearnâ those things.
Internalized misogyny is thinking every woman needs to be feminine or thereâs something wrong with them. Internalized misogyny is trying to enforce a feminine performance on women around you. The idea that thereâs something inherently worse about being masculine than being feminine is radfem-y and disgusting.
As a trans woman, I have a lot of behaviors that i am VERY EXCITED to do that are considered traditionally feminine. And I think the General Societal Narrative of a trans women, say, being excited to bake a cake, is that sheâs like, Sightseeing Womanhood, doing something Women Do because it tickles her to Be A Woman. Which is⊠fucking hogwash. these behaviors arenât Things Women Do, theyâre Things Men Donât Do.Â
The urge to bake a cake and coo at babies and welcome houseguests, I think, is just human, but itâs something that men are told basically from birth that theyâre not allowed to do. So a huge part of the transfem experience isnât Discovering New Hobbies That Let You Be A Girl, itâs finally allowing yourself to do things that youâve spent decades believing you werenât supposed to.
And in less intersectional feminist spaces, this purveying idea (that a trans woman is taking pleasure from like, Sampling Womanhood) plays to an understanding of âmale socializationâ that is centered around the effects it has on AFAB people. (âBoys will be boysâ, âHeâs pulling his hair because he likes youâ)Â
And while I dont blame people for expressing the pain they suffer under patriarch, itâs pretty conceited to assume that this gives you understanding of the totality of the AMAB experience. Cis men and trans women and other AMAB people spend their childhoods being punished, by peers and authorities and media, for âunmanlyâ behavior- vulnerability, emotionality, caring, sadness. And I think that a lot of feminism (ESPECIALLY radical feminism) doesnât fully understand that.
TERFs especially are 100% convinced that they know what male socialization is to the point that they will argue with trans women about it, which is the kind of hubris that would be fucking hilarious if it wasnât so harmful.
God this is such a great sentence
One weird experience of transitioning is failing at ur assigned gender role the whole time and everyone constantly deriding you for it but then u come out and it's like we lost a beautiful gender conforming warrior today. Must grieve for my wonderful child who pissed me off by being ugly and weird since day 1
"you can't even be butch anymore!" says cis woman who has mocked every butch woman she ever met
"let tomboys be tomboys!" they say about the kids they endlessly forced into feminine conformity
âIâm losing my big strong boy!â says father who has done nothing but mock his childâs lack of masculinity from day one and forced said child into every contact sport known to man in a effort to butch them up.
From what I can tell this is the standard level of sexual dimorphism for booktok romance couples
Most interesting thing about this post is people tagging it as like âstraight people version of yaoi size dynamicsâ like. Letâs all stop and think for a second where the âpenetrative sexual partner is large, dominant, and masculine; the penetrated sexual partner is small, submissive, and feminineâ thing (and the presumption of these roles being a necessity and immutable) might also come from.
And now it's "more tall bottoms!" "let the tiny girl PEG the man" let us instead continue this thought exercise and examine why we presume that a sexual relationship must be defined around a penetrator/penetrated dynamic, or that there must by necessity be "A top" or "A bottom" and that these roles cannot be fluid, or that penetrative sex is a necessity in a relationship to begin with, or that penetration is an act of dominance and humiliation and by extension it's a Subversive Feminist Win for the Bigger and/or Masculine party to receive, or that these misogynistic-homophobic ideals can be meaningfully addressed by simply Reversing the dynamic. My final message........goodbye..........
still stunned by the sheer violation of what we've seen ruben do to niall in the barn so far, like i've said it before but i'll say it again... imagine if niall had been a woman in her wedding dress, led away from her spouse and guests by a stepbrother twice her size, commanded to expose herself to him ("im telling you you look gorgeous" "come on show me" "stop teasing me you little minx"), punched in the face when she refuses, and finally caressed while lying on the ground bleeding, her wedding dress rucked up to her thighs like niall's kilt was... i think the maleness of a victim can sometimes blind us to the fact that what we're seeing is sexual violence but that is what it was, and the further back you ask the question "what if niall was a woman/girl" the more brutally obvious it all becomes
Interesting how certain Half Man viewers are treating Alby purely as a vehicle to discuss Rubenâs trauma rather than his own person who perhaps doesnât deserve to be beaten half to death and framed for sexual assault just because Ruben is most likely a CSA survivor⊠you know⊠kind of like how the characters in the show are doing thatâŠ

everyone loves to hate terfs until they realise that it actually entails rejecting bioessentialism entirely and then suddenly youâre âtaking things too seriouslyâ and you âdonât have a sense of humourâ like iâm sorry but saying protect the dolls doesnât make you immune to terfism it has seeped into every corner of mainstream feminism and unless youâre actively searching it out and checking your own biases you will always be at risk of sharing a space with terfs
âOnly women canââ nope. âBut all menââ nah. âThe divine femininity ofââ gonna stop you right there. âEveryone born amaââ if you finish that sentence Iâll kill you. âMen donât experienceââ youâre wrong. âGender isnât real but sex is immââ *loud incorrect buzzer*
It also goes without saying that bioessentialism inherently canât be trans inclusive no matter how hard you try. âAll men including trans menââ probably not. âThis is only a womanâs issueââ is it really? âAfabs onlyââ why? âAll trans men are likeââ what? what are they like? finish the sentence i dare you.
On this day, 13 May 1985, Philadelphia police attacked the home of Black liberation and environmentalist group MOVE with automatic weapons, then dropped a bomb on it, killing five adults and six children, destroying 61 homes in the predominantly Black neighbourhood, and making 250 people homeless. Almost 500 police officers fired over 10,000 rounds of ammunition into the house, which was filled with women and children, while other officers blew holes in the walls with explosives. The police commissioner then ordered the house to be bombed, which they did using an improvised device made from C4 given to them by the FBI. Only two people survived the blast and ensuing fire: Ramona Africa, and Michael Ward, aged 13. While no officials were prosecuted, Ramona Africa was subsequently jailed for seven years on riot and conspiracy charges. The incident occurred during the tenure of Philadelphiaâs first Black mayor, a Democrat named Wilson Goode. The children killed were named Katricia Dotson (Tree), Netta, Delitia, Phil, and Tomasa Africa and the adults were Rhonda, Teresa, Frank, CP, Conrad, and John Africa. In April 2021, it was revealed that anthropologists at Princeton and the University of Pennsylvania had the bones of one of the children, unbeknownst to the families. * Learn more about institutional white supremacy in the police in this book: https://shop.workingclasshistory.com/products/the-end-of-policing-alex-s-vitale https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/1986639618187845/?type=3
