Many of you probably don’t know who Koh Masaki is, and I wouldn’t either if it wasn’t for one of my old mutuals who was an absolute fan of his and would post about him frequently enough for me to remember. Still, he should not be forgotten. He was an openly gay adult movie star in Japan (which was a first at the time I believe, since they all are or claim to be straight, bi or just ‘gay-for-pay’) and was a legend in his field. Today mark’s the third year anniversary of his unfortunate and untimely death caused by complications from a surgery. He left behind many close friends and a loving boyfriend with whom he gave an interesting interview about being out in Japan a short time before his passing. I have been reminded about the anniversary due to a post made by a musician I follow on Instagram, who was one of those close friends I mentioned before. I’ve never seen anything but words of praise about the kind of person he was. He was only 29 when he died. He was brave, important and smart and if you watch his last interview, you’ll see why he left such an impact on all people who came across him. Rest in peace Koh Masaki (20.07.1983-18.05.2013)
