"Youāve got to be joking."
"Erm--- sorry what?"
Look who I managed to find. Isnāt she the cutest teddy youāve ever seen?
I guess so.
Anna raised an eyebrow very slightly at the young woman, before humming in what could have been agreement. āWell, itās been lovely running into you, Freya, but Iām afraid I must excuse myself. Donāt be a stranger, now.ā
Freya felt relieved that the conversation was to end, not that she didn't want to talk to Anna, she just didn't want to talk about how she was able to recognise faces. It wasn't because she was good at it, it was because each face that had glanced at her in the street, caused Freya to feel that they knew what she had done and she made a mental note of each one. She was paranoid. But she couldn't help that. "Oh yes, that's ok. And I'll see you around."Ā
Jaw clenched, Miya gave the girl a once over, before looking down at the mess she had created. She had to maintain composure.. it was only something little, but enough to ruin her whole day. āItās fine, forget it. And stop apologising a thousand times over. Once is enough.āĀ
She could see that this girl had a temper, she could practically feel it. "Ok. I won't apologise again," she smiled a little, "did you want me to buy you another one?"
ā Itās a pleasure Freya. Iām Klaus.ā
"Nice to meet you. So how long have you been here then? If you don't mind me asking, of course.
Klaus laughed. ā Havenāt disturbed me at all, love. Youāre new around here. I wouldāve remembered a pretty face like that.ā
"Not new. Well, I guess I'm still new-ish," she smiled. "I've just kept myself to myself really. The name's Freya."
"What other way is there to see it as?"
Freya paused realising she was on a conversational topic she wanted to jump off, "Er-- no other way. I don't know what I was saying."
You think? I toured with Kevin Hart for a little bit, he got jealous, kicked me out of the show. Long storyā¦
I'm sure it is.
Guess we arenāt all lucky enough to work at our dadās boathouse. Iāll see you around though? Hopefully without running you over first.Ā
Ha, I hope I won't be run over next time I see you.Ā
Klaus smirked and crossed his arms. āSorry to disappoint sweetheart.ā he looked her up and down. ā Is there something i can help you with?ā
Freya noticed that he looked her up and down and all she could sense was power radiating from the man before her, "No unfortunately not. Sorry to have disturbed you."
"Itās fine. Itās a friendās duty to ask questions such as that."
"I know so. Itās better than not remembering peopleās face."
"I'm glad you see it the way I do"
"I guess if you put it that way, I could agree with you."
x
āPlease, enlighten me, what could possibly be this important?ā
"Could you--" looking up at his face and realising the man was not who she expected she moved out of the way slightly, "Oh sorry, I thought you were someone else."Ā
Being a morning person had never been on the agenda. In fact, spotting aĀ happy Miya Woods walking around town with a soy latte in hand before eight A.M., would lead many to believe the apocalypse was here. But today, today was different, because today.. she wasĀ happy. āUntil she wasnāt. āWhat theĀ hell?!ā Having someone bump into her and cause her to spill her coffee everywhere as it fell to the floor,Ā again hadnāt been on the agenda. Today was simplyĀ full of surprises.
Freya had kept her head down as she walked through the town, not wanting to make eye contact with those she walked past, she didn't even notice the girl until she had bumped into her. Lifting her head up, she looked at the girl with an apologetic face as she saw that her coffee has gone everywhere. "I am so so sorry. I should have been looking at where I was going. Sorry."
Should be, ācause itās a real talent.
I'll take your word for it.
Right, well I should probably get going before I lose my job. Not that that would be a shame, but still.
"I donāt know if Iād be the best person to pick up on that." "Thatās a gift. Honestly."
"Oh I see. Never mind though, I just thought I'd ask."
"If you say so."
Someoneās parents obviously let them watch to much Little Eisensteinās as a kid.
You're hysterically funny.Ā
"⦠Interest?" "Ish. I donāt blame you. There are a lot of people in Chicago, though. Is it really that easy to notice new faces?"
"He never really has any luck when it comes to flirting. I didn't know whether he would have tried with you. I ask out of curiosity, of course."
Er-- well I guess it is for me.
