cant stop thinking abt shatov and stavrogin bc

stavrogin (guy who famously does not care about anything or anyone) says "i will not let you have shatov" in the context of planning shatovs murder

shatov takes it as normal that he is unintelligent and unimportant and that its totally natural stavrogin does not give a f about him

shatov does not think stavrogin gives a fuck abt him

STAVROGIN SAID HE WILL NOT LET THEM HAVE SHATOV‼️

stavrogin (guy who famously does not listen to anyone and does not open up) goes to the guy shatov recommends to him to listen to him and open up

shatov asks him "did you abuse kids and if you did i will strangle you right here and now" and stavrogin lies and says no. interesting

My hot take is that I genuinely love Mia Winters. I think she's such a fun and interesting character (and I wish she got more screentime...).

Genuinely what would that have achieved? There's no cure no solution. It would just break Ethan and it would break Mia watching Ethan break. And they still have a daughter to raise!! And I do genuinely believe that Mia either didn't know or didn't want to know about Ethan's situation until it was far too late.

Living with someone that you know should be dead is a horror in of itself, I think.

As for her not telling Ethan that she's a bioterrorist? Well of course she didn't tell him! Telling him would put him in danger! It would put him in an awkward position of KNOWING his wife is doing something terrible and illegal and there lies the question of if he should report it to someone. And what if the government comes knocking, asking about Mia? You think Ethan "Wife Guy" Winters is gonna hand Mia over? No! He's gonna lie! And that would make him complicit! And in big trouble!

Anyways, in conclusion. We need more morally gray women in STEM and I love Mia Winters.
