The urge to smoke a cigarette hit her hard.

Juno grumbles, unsatisfied as the craving wallows in her like a parasitic insect. God, she needed a pack right now. She literally met a fucking star. Not a celebrity or anything—A walking ball of human plasma. She expected she’d continue to be out of her element here. Not that it matters—she knew she wasn’t going to leave anytime soon, and she knew she would be able to make it here just fine. She had to. Besides, she can have fun here too, can’t she?

As the infestation of the craving dulls her willpower even harder, she feels her feet trip over something. “Shit!” Juno yells, but her hands are already on it; training in art of the samurai comes with its perks, it seems. She falls hands first, catching herself before her nose touches the ground. She can feel the braid of her hair on the cold stone. After a few breaths, she flips onto her hands, and follows through into a sitting position to find a large tail covered in some kind of fleece. She rolls her eyes. Of course.

“…Fun?” Juno asks inquisitively. “You want to have fun?”

The grin, ever so slightly sadistic in nature, crawls across her face. “Okay, little one. Let’s have some fun. Did you want the good fun or the bad fun? I’ll show you a good time regardless, you know. I may not look it, but I love to have fun. Let’s see if your definition of fun lines up with mine.” She pull out a revolver that isn’t hers, sliding it across the ground. “Want to start with some roulette? A real thriller to kick things off! Or, you can buy it from me and you don’t have to risk your life.”

Oh he really opened a can of worms huh?  Nasty worms.  Man.  He felt the ebyss suddenly rush in his veins, to anyone this would probably be a bad situation, something scary, maybe.  But he was elated.  He didn’t like being hurt, or dying, but there was something about the rush that drew him in.   He definitely found a type of person.  He wanted to work with her more.   He clicked his fangs in consideration.  If there was a bullet in the gun, he’d be bleeding black all over the pavement, and, she’d probably figure out he was some kind of undead.  Or maybe not, if the whole world thing was really true.  On the other hand she might find him more interesting, he knew he was a bit harder to kill than the average person.  If he just bought it, she might find that more boring, he was just going off his soap-box about her not being fun. ...he’d rather show that he was fun.  He leaned to pick the gun up.  He wasn’t really sure if he had any money here yet, anyways.  “I still might buy it from you later, you know.”  He pointed it at his tail, if this thing did have a bullet, he’d rather be walking around with a hole in his tail than his head or chest or anywhere else.  Maybe he wasn’t playing right, but he lived on his own rules and no-one elses.  He pulled the trigger and shot it at his tail, seemingly without hesitation.  But he wouldn’t deny his heart was flying.

This fate is shared between every universe we’ve identified. It’s that line in particular that makes Ania wonder what other universes these people talked about. Were they talking about the different quadrants and just made a typo? That seems rather unlikely. Her mind is still running wild even though it is getting late. She has been up and around all day and she still didn’t find the way back to the hill yet. One would think that can’t be so hard, but there’s also this huge botanical garden, and the tunnel she somehow wound up walking inside… and this huge forest!!

She always gets distracted on her way!

Despite it getting dark and colder actually, she doesn’t seem awfully afraid to be surrounded by tall trees. She fiddles around on her smartphone now, trying to find a flashlight. Surely this device has an integrated flashlight of sorts? She swipes around, up and down, until she notices a symbol that actually looks like a flashlight. As she hits it, the device starts to shine her way now.

… or rather, it flashes right into the face of someone who showed up in front of her. She can only make up a tiny face in the bright light, surrounded by darkness.

“AHH! I’m sorry!” Quickly she turns the smartphone’s flashlight towards the ground. “You alright?”

The first thing he did was let some kind of unholy vampiric hiss.  He quickly bit his tongue to quiet it down.  Light wasn’t nice when it was sudden like that.  It was blinding, it made him flinch hard. But it was much worse having people discover your vampire nature, flying into flight or fight response and possibly attacking you.  Or just...suddenly being very scared and hostile towards you.  It made talking kind of hard.  But that was twice now someones bumped into him on a nightly walk.  Most of these were day creatures weren’t they?  What did they keep coming out here for?  Rubbing the blindness out of his eyes he answered her.  “Just need to reboot my eyes don’t worry about it!”  he gave a couple blinks and then looked at the poor person who bumped into him and- oh.  oh. She was just like that other guy!  The one he knew nothing about.  Suddenly, he was really glad she bumped into him! Because he was still deathly curious about that guy, and now this one.  “People don’t usually come out into the woods at night-time, you aren’t scared of running into monsters, or hungry carnivores are you?”   It was a small question to get things going, something to amuse him to.  Technically he was both of those.

My Melody hovered above Puppy and the little cat thing that was standing next to him. “Is that a nice kitty, or a naughty kitty? My Melo won’t come down if it’s a naughty kitty because…because!! There’s a naughty kitty back on Earth where I’m from and it chases me around all the time and it’s very scary and stuff so…!” She took breath. “That’s why.”

What was that? Puppy was seeing a lot of weird things here, first it was a small orange man, now a...bunny floating on an umbrella?  They were adorable, whatever they were.  He smiled, though it was mostly hidden by his scarf, you could still see his cheeks lifting and eyes close.  “Don’t worry he’s nice!  He’s not even a kitty, he just looks like one”   He knelt down to invite the ‘cat’ to jump into his arms, it moved into them like a snake- all its movements were a tad odd.  Like it wasn’t exactly agreeing with gravity.  It let out a slight purr, Puppy rubbing its head around in a loving pet.  “Did you want to come down to pet him?  He’ll purr and maybe give you a lick or two”

On storm mode? She mouths, but it’s around a smirk. She’s already getting ready, straightening her shoulders and resting her elbow on the table before her.

Deunan momentarily pauses when she sees the little cat, not expecting that, but doesn’t let it distract her.

“Watch, I’ll win you one yet.”

Her expression smooths into something solemn, concentrating, and fires the first shot– bingo.

A smirk,

“Yes!” But that’s nothing. She tries two for two, lining up the shot, taking it. Nailing it.

“Two for two!”

His eyes were suddenly glued to the performance.  Or- two of them at least.  If he let out any little ‘Ooos’ it’s because he was impressed by what was in front of him, and he did.  Even his weird cat seemed to be transfixed.   Somehow he struck gold finding this person, he just nabbed a random person without any guess if they would be good or not.    He started cheering her on with a little clap, not that it was really loud with the soft fleece gloves he was wearing.  It was the spirit that mattered in the end, right?  “You’ve got a lot of practice down haven’t you?”  Now he was actually curious to what Deunan did for a living, those were actual skills she was using.

@goldenbladed  After finding a proper place to complain to, Puppy finally managed to get his blood bags in much more easy to manage sizes.  Now he had a big freezer filled with the things.  Now the issue was, he’d have to microwave them one by one.  He still had to drink so much blood to be satisfied. It was tedious, and annoying.  But hunting for proper food was annoying to- people were bound to notice weird bites on animals.  He wasn’t going to look for volunteers to drink from because that would mean revealing he was a vampire to four people.  That was a pain in the head.  Even more than microwaving bags one at a time.  So for now he choose to microwave the bags of blood, standing on a chair and watching them turn in the microwave at 3 AM, wearing nothing but an over-sized pajama shirt that went to his feet (and some shorts!).  He was too sleepy to think much.  Especially about them smell of iron filling the house like some kind of slaughterhouse.   At the moment he forgot he had roomates.

Whit found walks in the woods to be quite soothing, although not so much when he quickly found himself hopelessly lost.  The sun had set hours ago and he was still wandering aimlessly through the forest, hoping that if he walked long enough he’d either hit that weird mystical wall and end up in his bed, or miraculously end back up in town.

Neither had occurred thus far.

Man, he was getting sick of walking.  Maybe it would be better to just climb up a tree and nap there until the sun came back up…  As he pondered whether it was worth possibly falling out a tree mid-sleep, he sensed he wasn’t the only person creeping around in the dark.  Whit shuffled through the underbrush and popped out the other side of a clump of bushes to witness the shortest person he’d ever seen sucking down on a poor deer.

Ah, shit.  Never bother a vampire while they’re eating; that was basically rule number one with hanging out with vampires.  He didn’t seem to notice that Whit was encroaching on his feed time, so he carefully attempted to exit the scene.  Careful…careful, ah sh– Whit tripped over a root poking out of the ground and crashed through the same bushes he just walked through.

Well there was no hiding it now.

“Don’t worry about me Mr. Vampire,” he was panicked as he scrambled to his feet,  “I saw nothing and I’ll tell no one.”

Ah.  Hell.  He was entirely too new here, he was hoping he’d keep his identity a secret a little longer, but by random chance some guy wandered in and caught up slurping up some venison.  He stared with his eyes that glew a sharp pink from a distance, thinking things over for a second.  Then he went to pulling out the medical supplies and wrapping up the deers wound, gaze that would soak up all that blood that was no longer clotting.  Luckily the other guy already promised not to tell no one.  That wasn’t good enough, he had to put on pressure.  He approached the other, looking up at him with those freaky eyes of his, edges of his mouth still wet with blood.  “Well now you’re my friend.  Can’t just find out my secret and get away with it, you know?”  It may of sounded like an odd comment, but he’d rather keep someone who knew about it close.  The pressure of being a friendly presence may make this guy not want to give away secrets like that, anyways.

“Wow,” Juno says, mockingly. “Nice going, Inspector! Did you figure that out on your own? I can’t believe I’m meeting a prodigy!” She sighs exasperatedly. “Seriously, would it kill you not be so painfully obvious? If you wanna spice things up, stop wasting my time and do it already.”

She decides to lean back on her elbows, not exactly threatened by the presence of a so called goblin. “Also, I give zero shits what you are. You’re either my problem or not. And currently, you are definitely not my problem.”

He puffs his cheeks a little, blowing a small noise of dissappointment he had to end his fun early.  “You cut to the chase types are never any fun.  You’re carrying a bunch of dangerous things aren’t you?”  He walked over and poked at her clothes a bit, just to see for himself.  “It’s the opposite of my job to be a problem.”  He was the problem solver, not the problem causer. ...He may cause small problems to solve bigger problems.  But he didn’t count that.

When he slips his little hand in hers, gloved and warm, Deunan warms at the gesture too. He trusts her to get the prize, to lead him safely. It’s kind of nice, to be counted on.

She’s face to face with the game and after a quick assessment, she turns to Puppy with a smirk. A normal shooting game with probably cork bullets, the targets set up and moving. 

“Absolutely. I’ve got this. Make sure you give your plush a cute name too, okay?”

“I’ve already got the brain on storm mode”    He goes ahead and sits while he watches, his figure shrinking even more than before. Bright eyes on Deunan, glowing just a bit pink as he hummed a little tune.  Whether she won or not- this was still fun enough for him, and he was actually enjoying his time.   While idle he let some kind of...slinky cat creature move out of his coat and start wrapping around his face in a snake-like movement while rubbing it.  You could audibly hear the purr.

Down here at his level it’s easier to see he’s smiling, from his eyes beneath all those layers, peeping out, and of course his cheeks. Her own smile must mirror it, even as she puffs out her chest with pride.

“No problem, I’m happy to help out.” And brag too. “My name’s Deunan. It’s nice to meetcha.” Puppy….? Must be a fond nickname, she assumes.

He’s not going to wait a moment more now that the introductions were done. There was a buzz in his feet as he suddenly felt himself buzzing with excitement, it was like his body was filled with static, except it wasn’t.  Because he was a moist little water creature and that would be a horrible outcome.  He took Deunans hand, and started to pull her towards the nearest shooting game. His hand was cold, but thankfully the soft material on the glove also covered the fact it was moist and kind of slimy.  Humans didn’t really like touching stuff with a protective mucous layer.  It had a bunch of stupid looking stuffed animals as prizes, and he wanted one.  He was looking at a fat cat plushie that barely had limbs.  But it had huge stuffed eyes and a little pink tongue sticking out, which reminded him all too much of his pet cheese, and that’s what mattered here.  He wasn’t sure if they’d win that one but he’d be damned if he didn’t try.  And now he had the luck of this random lady who said she was good at shooting, so he at least had a shot at it.  “This is one of the ones youre real good at right?”

He narrows his eyes at this thing. Couple of weeks? That’s pretty much contrary to what he has gathered so far.  “How many arrived with you?” He asks warily, keeping his eyes on the being. He doesn’t trust it. Call it instinct, call it years of experience in his job. And as far as the attempt of bounding over this place’s history goes, Leck doesn’t bite.  Not entirely, anyway. “I’m interested in weakpoints and fighting techniques, not some bed-time stories. How much can you tell me about the fights in here so far?“

He observed how this guys eyes focused on him.  A question like ‘how many arrived with you’.  He was suspicious.  He was also a fighty type, probably well seasoned.  Only workaholics with teeth talked like that, that or weird nerds.   But Puppy wasn’t at all interested in getting on the bad side with one of those, sure, he could do a bit of fighting here and there, but he wasn’t made for violence.  He clicked this cross shaped fangs together a bit and chewed his thoughts for a second, and then he laughed a bit.  “Sorry-! I was just messing with you.  Just a bit of fun, couldn’t help it.  I eat myself right up if I let a good chance to joke slip by, you know? I just got here a night ago” But then he started to walk to the others side, tail dragging on the ground.  “I can’t tell you what the fights are like here.  But I can tell you i’ve explored a bit- if there’s going to be fighting, it’s either happening here or the woods, i’m pretty sure.  You can put a little cherry on top of that”

Juno rolls her eyes. “You may need to get out more, then,” she starts, amicably enough. “I’m not one, to answer your question, but that’s all you really need to know.” She takes Makina’s sheath of her back, sitting down on the floor cross legged as she puts her trusted katana to her side—makes it easier to access in this position.

“I take it you’re not exactly human, however,” she continues. “Not many humans are shorter than I am, you know.”

He figured. Her answer drew him to guess she definitely was carrying something more dangerous, and she herself wasn’t an average citizen, that sword definitely wasn’t just for show.  He still wouldn’t know until he got a right answer for it.  He could ask outright but that would be boring.  He wanted to play a stupid game that either ended with her admitting it, or her finding out he knew a little bit more about dangerous things than would first appear.  But for now he was presented a fun question he just couldn’t ignore.  There were so many things he could answer this with, and people would be none the wiser.  “I’m a goblin” Short, usually vague humanoid.  Close enough to be believable and make up as much bullshit as he wanted without someone catching on the truth. At least, unless someone starts getting suspicious, but that’s always fun to.  “You look pretty human yourself.  Taller, legs, hair.”  He had all those things, he’d elaborate if she asked.

This amusement park is a little less foreign and unfamiliar to her having been taken out of the badside and plopped right into Olympus, virtually a paradise, but seeing all the lights and happy crowds is still. Strange. Deunan had spent her first half hour here just wandering, drifting like a paper bag– and alright, she got some snacks, but still. 

She’s working herself up to some rides when she feels a poke at her leg and upon looking down, she peers into the eyes of a little….kid? Doll? Kid? 

Bending down to reach his height better, she smiles. “If you need help with shooting games, I’m your lady.”

Easy as pie.  For the shooting games at least.  It was hard to tell he was smiling because of his scarf, but maybe the lady in front of him would notice his cheeks rise a bit.  He doesn’t even mind that she’s kneeling down to speak to him, honestly, he didn’t know why people got so uppity about it.  It was like they were bowing down to you, completely for free.  Not that he was one of those guys who got a high from it, it was just something that amused him, whenever it happened.  “The shooting games and...any others I can’t reach!  Thanks.  Names Puppy, in case you were going to ask. Yours?”

134. 134th time someone's tripped over him, he remembered the first time this happened, he didn’t think it would be common.  But humans were tall, leggy things.  Accidents happen, and he was small.   It’s still not everyday he’s walking and suddenly a bunch of legs are clambering over his face.  He made a disgruntled squeaking noise, turning around just to face a rather impressive set of acrobatics.  It wasn’t everyday you saw that either.  Whoever this person was, he wanted to know more. He was keen to the unusual weight in her clothes to, this chick was carrying something.  He picked up his tail with his hands and set it to the side, and then addressed the person in front of him.  “You a gymnastics professional?  Ive never seen someone move like that before” A lie.  Two, technically.  He had his assumptions about things, and a gymnast probably wouldn’t be carrying around all that.  But it was a good way to start conversation.

Upon exiting his bedroom, Puppy would immediately be hit with the smell of something cooking. And, should his nose follow the source, he’ll soon find himself in the kitchen, a red-haired stranger preoccupied by the stove-top and surrounded by a complete mess of ingredients scattered across the counters. Cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, spinach and spices… and that’s only what’s at his right-hand side. 

Puppy doesn’t have to wait very long before he’s spotted. Truth be told, Wilder was expecting the company. He just wasn’t expecting it so soon! Wilder’s eyes light up anyway, a toothy grin complimenting his features. When he speaks, there’s a noticeable accent.  

“Oh! G’morning! I dunno if they tell you these things before bringing me here, but I’m Wilder, your new roommate! Um, so have you ever had an omelet before? I don’t really know what worlds besides my own’re like.. “ He had never even entertained the possibility that there could be others. Even now, when he’s staring in the face of someone who is definitely otherwordly in both face and attire, Wilder can barely accept that the person he’ll for now on sharing a living space with is, in fact, an alien and not just someone from a faraway land. Hell, he’s still in shock from learning that he himself isn’t in the world he’s supposed to be. 

“It won’t offend me if you don’t eat it, of course, but I figured I should do a little something to introduce myself…” he continues to ramble on, laughing nervously. “Though I was hoping you’d wake up after I finished cooking.” Mostly because he didn’t want to end up subjecting himself to awkward small-talk should his new living pal not be just as shy as him. Gods, wouldn’t it just suck if his housemates were selected not based off of convenience, but similar personality traits? But if opposites are what attract, wouldn’t that mean that his roommates may be the type to never shut up? Ugh, that was even worse. No, he was overthinking again-

“Oh, uh, have I given you my name yet?” He has. “Ha, It’s Wilder.”

Did anything burn more than the unholy wretched eldritch being everyone knew as the sun? He wasn’t sure.  But it was starting to peek through the window and he could feel the veins under his skin writhe in pain like tortured worms, sizzling like fucked up string bacon.  And then he caught a whiff of another unholy action.  The fresh smell of spices, various dead plants and fungi being cooked. Don’t you just love the fresh smell of burning decay in the morning?  He made sure to get all dressed up and followed downstairs just to see what all the fuss was about.  He was greeted by... What he could only describe as someones dream husband love fantasy brought to life.  This man had pretty hair.  He had lashes, a beautiful smile, the way he dressed was so dramatic that Puppy felt like sleeping beauty waking up to prince charming, the fact this man was cooking on top of all of it...it felt kind of dissociative, in a way.  You don’t just enter your kitchen to find a heartbeat dream figure standing there cooking for you. Someones dream figure, anyways.  Puppy was into less than ideal individuals, this guy was like a dollop of whipped cream on picture perfect latte.  “Im allergic to eggs and...”  he squinted at the sun blaring through the window with its fiery rays of skin melting extremity.  “...Sun”  he wandered over and pulled up a chair to close the shades over the window. He turned over again to Wilder, inspecting the whole situation a little closer.  The guy smelt like beauty product and vegetarian salad.  He smelled all leafy and healthy, and not any kind of meal he’s want to suck.  It was kind of overwhelming, honestly, all these smells.  He doesnt know how humans live with nostrils.  Still, he was curious about his roomate, and he was tired enough he felt like rambling whatever topic came up.  “You can just call me Puppy- thats my actual name, im not like asking you to give me a weird nickname”  But he choose it himself.  It made him endearing, he liked being spoiled by doting types.

The size of the Coliseum is on the impressive side, but Leck has seen many huge places through his journeys so far. And they were usually more advanced than this one. But he tries to subdue any bias about technology in WayPoint, for that clearly doesn’t seem this area’s forte. It might be a good place to blow off steam in future, or keeping himself occupied when he’s bored. It also certainly won’t hurt to learn more about the resident fighting techniques and abilities to know what he has to be careful about in future. He does feel a little better today than he did in the first few days, but thinking back how his fight with Deunan went, he knows he’d do well by just watching instead of signing himself up. First off, he decides to just have a look around the place itself. Or, he has been looking aroud until he’s suddenly spoken to.

“Well, who’s NOT?” Everyone he’s met so far at least has been new. Which is actually intriguing. Almost as if this place just started existing not too long ago.

“Just having a look around here. You’re no native to this place, are you?” Most natives seem to be humans. This one’s clearly not. 

“Just arrived a couple weeks ago”  Which was a lie.  But it was a fun lie, he was interested enough in this guy that he decided he’d be a worthy enough target to try and mess with, but he wasn’t going to put much effort into it.  Two weeks was new enough he could get away with not knowing things, but also made it so he could lie about other things.  “If youre new you don’t know much yet, huh?  This place has some pretty interesting stories to it”  He kept his eye focused on the other, careful, just in case.  There’s probably all types attracted by a coliseum.

@graveresemblance For a place he got kidnapped to, this place was pretty ‘nifty’.  Honestly, it had everything.  Even the things he absolutely loathed with all his being.  Like Amusement Parks.  The images of bright colourful clowns, weird food and packed grounds in the middle of hot summer days sent shivers all over his back.  The idea of being in place packed like a tuna-can alone sent shivers down his spine, and he hated heat, and sunlight.  The colourful rides were the only attractive parts, but the parks were usually closed at night-time, so he had no reason to go.  Much to his surprise, they had openings at night-time, and hey, it was all filled with pretty lights, less packed... Curiosity possessed him, and like any good possession he felt obliged to follow what it wanted.  He wanted to see the lights, to see all the goofy rides up close, maybe win some stupid prizes.  But there was an issue. He was here now, listening to the booming pop music, having all these flashy colours and lights shine in his face.  The prizes looked darling- just awful made enough he wanted to dote on them for how stupid they looked.  But he was short, and squishy.  These games were mostly made for human-height things.  Some of these games looked like they required bones.  He was not going to get a stupid plush roomate if they didn’t recruit and appropriate person, but that wasn’t much of an issue, he wasn’t the only one here.  He approached someone who was alone, a tough looking lady.  Taking a gloved hand he gently poked her leg (because he didn’t reach very high).  “Hey.   You know how to play the games here at all?”
