Thrust into a magical new world after the collapse of reality; a group of strange and loyal companions must adapt to their new life and powers on the journey to find family and friends.
i saw your comic in a ccad booklet, what was the experience like attending that school?
Hey! Asks I normally answer over on my Mod Blog @theghostlymuse! If you could re-ask over there, I’d love to answer your question. This is just to keep the comic format of FriendQuest nice and tidy.Â
Tomorrow we celebrate FriendQuest’s 3 Year Anniversary with a break from the College Senior Year Hiatus of Doom ™ to bring back regular updates with a passion!
GAIIHL IS VERY HAPPY ABOUT THIS AND SO AM I
I’ll personally be celebrating by working on the next update after tomorrow and making cake! Thanks you guys, for three years of comicy goodness!
Another treat for you guys for the 2 year anniversary of FriendQuest! The evolution of Gaiihl, from my very first drawing of him to where he is today!
Lots to read under the cut!
It makes me cringe to look at old art, but it’s very rewarding to see how I’ve grown! Check the captions for the dates, but these are the biggest milestones I’ve seen in my old sketchbooks of my stylistic changes from the first drawing (2010) to now (2016).Â
I remember back in early 2010, @bechnokid was my biggest stylistic influence at the time. I saw the popularity they received as well as some of the big name nuzlocke comics makers like @kynimdraws and really strove to get the same level of positive reception. Gaiihl started out as a Cofagrigus gijinka, specifically a Cofagrigus that was based on the actual mummy at my local art museum.Â
It wasn’t too long after that when I realized that I wanted to do something original to me, and I started attempting to develop a style for myself. He became his own character and less of a ginjinka, although he’s kept his same sharp teeth ever since. I looked at all of the popular media that inspired me, cartoons from my childhood, artists I looked up to, any anything that really caught my eye. @pixelkitties and @butchhartman come to mind, as well as the entirety of the Transformers Animated series.
Today, a lot of those people are @rebeccasugar, @gravi-teamfalls, Kazu Kibuishi, @peahart, @coryloftis and more that are too many to name or recall at the moment.Â
This past weekend at SPX also gave me the amazing opportunity to meet a couple of the artists who’ve inspired the growth in my artwork like @rebeccamock. I also met many more who I’m very sure will be influential in future changes to come, because I know I won’t stop growing!Â
Six years might seem like a long time, but to you younger artists who haven’t yet grown into yourselves and the way you want to draw, don’t worry about it! Know what you like and know what you love, take the things you like from all over, maybe how one artists draws hands, and how another draws eyes, and maybe you like to have the folds in your clothes fold in just a certain way. Take it all, ball it up, and become the glue that fits it all together and you’ll find a style that’s unique to you!Â
You heard it here first folks! For the big 2 Year Anniversary, Ghostly Muse Comics is announcing the development of the FriendQuest videogame!
FriendQuest: The Questening (Working Title) is a fantasy based point and click adventure game! Explore the world of the FriendQuest webcomic series, play as the characters, solve puzzles, and find supplies they’ll need in order to continue on with their adventure! Engage in combat with an encounter system, or have yourself and friends choose your favorite characters and face off with each other!Â
The game itself will be made for PC, with possible ports to both Android and IOS to take it mobile. Crowdfunding is also possible in our future depending on where this takes us! The game will be canonical to the series and will be another way for readers to experience and interact with the world and characters that you know and love.Â
If you want to keep up with the game’s development, check out some concept art, or just check out some behind the scenes work on both the game and the comic, you can follow the newly created Ghostly Muse Comics  blog and check out the Game Doc link for progress and updates on the game’s development. There’s not much there right now as we’re in the very early stages of making concept art and modeling, but it’s going to be growing very quickly and very soon!Â
If all goes according to plan a short playable demo will be available December 2016.Â
Hey everyone! The 2 year anniversary of FriendQuest is coming up tomorrow with some big announcements! I hope you're excited! You might have noticed a lack of updates from me for the past couple Mondays and that's from a mix of prepping for the Anniversary, coming into my senior year at the Columbus College of Art & Design, as well as a three weekend marathon of comic cons that I've been bringing FriendQuest to! It's been a busy month and I'm coming back from the high of attending SPX with a slew of amazing comics creators.Being around so many amazing artists and reading their work has really taken me out of a vacuum I feel like I've been in. I've never felt so motivated to make my work the best it can be, so I apologize for the short hiatus I'll be taking to get everything back on track, but FriendQuest will be back soon and better than before!
A little update from the author here, we’re well on our way into chapter 2 and there’s some exciting stuff coming up on the horizon! FriendQuest is going to reach it’s 2nd Year Anniversary on September 20th! It’s a very exciting thing to think about for me, but also keep an eye out for something special!
I’m working on something BIG for FriendQuest that I’ll be officially announcing on the Anniversary date and I hope you all are as thrilled as I am!Â
