This blog is dedicated to those in the Steam Powered Giraffe community who have Fanbots, Walternates, Kazoolanders, etc. but not the artistic talent to bring them to life. Twice a month I will pick an OC that has been submitted with a general description or a simple reference and ask Artists to help bring them to life.

Name: Rupture Creator: chokedonhisrage

If Robot, What type of metal are they built of: Predominantly copper, with titanium added for support in the limbs and joints and gold thrown in because the creator ran out of copper when he was nearly finished. Hair Color: Black. Eye Color: Blue. Design: Rupture is small, about 5’4”, with choppy black hair and bright blue optics. His chassis is almost entirely copper, fitted with titanium and gold. Typical humanoid build, except his feet have no toes. He typically wears simple clothing, his bottoms usually denim of various lengths and his tops usually baggy shirts or tanktops. No shoes, sometimes socks if the Walter Workers don’t want him tracking as much dirt around the Manor. His hair’s almost always a bit of a mess, though the level of mess varies.

Bio: Rupture was built in 1924 by English engineer Cason Wellington as a self-destruct bot, meant to combat Harry Grindell Matthew’s supposed “death ray”. His chassis was loaded with an explosive trigger that would detonate and cause the weakened Blue Matter core inside of him to rupture, which would destroy the ray (and Rupture himself in the process) before it could cause any damage. (Naturally, Wellington imagined that a one-time explosion would be a better alternative to the unlimited destructive power.) Rupture’s ‘skills’ were unneeded in the end, however, because Matthew’s ray, when demonstrated on April 26th of 1924, turned out to be nothing but a dud. Disappointed, Wellington tore the explosives from the bot, refurbished him with whatever he had lying around, and attempted to sell him. Eventually, Rupture was picked up by Becile Industries. However, the Beciles didn’t realize that he was a Blue Matter bot until they cracked him open. Dissatisfied, they shoved him into the vault with about four other Blue Matter bots, where he sat until the Great Depression hit the Beciles hard. They took out the Blue Matter bots, replaced their Blue Matter cores with Green Matter, and sold them.

Well…except for Rupture.They tried to remove his core, but they found it unstable, for it had been rigged to explode and all. In the end, they had to sell him to the current Peter Walter, for they were desperate for cash and knew that only Walter would be willing to buy a robot with a fragile core.

Rupture is socially awkward, sheepish, but rather affectionate (in his own little way, of course). He’s aware of his own fragility and it upsets him, and he’s constantly questioning what his new purpose should be, since his original one (literally: to die) isn’t exactly happening. He’s ambitious, but without goal; friendly, but in an incredibly strange and stunted manner.

Metal: Brass Hair Color: Ginger Eye Color: Blue-Green Design: Plus sized robot with a 1930’s fingerwave hairstyle. 5’3. She has a large, music box key sticking out of her chest at just below the collarbone. Only wears dresses and skirt/shorts and shirts, as spaces in between her metal on her legs that allow her knees to bend prevent her from wearing tight fitting pants. (Similar to the elbow joints in the photo) There are vents on the sides of her face.

Name: Eira Darlington

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Red

Design: She has a black mohawk. Is an Imp; light and dark grey skin, white horns, red eyes, a scruffy, fluffy tail, red markings on her cheeks. Likes dressing as Human as possible, but doesn’t want to be Human. Usually wears a plaid button-up shirt with a turquoise undershirt, green pendant necklace, tan shorts, stripey socks, and combat boots.

Bio: Eira is a fiery-headed little Imp. She often gets into trouble with others, especially her father, who is a Walter Worker. Originally from Wales, she tries her best to fit in with the American humans, though often gets confused by their odd culture. Stubborn, and blunt, Eira often comes off as rowdy and unfriendly. That’s partially true; Eira is loving and loyal to her friends and family, but a bit mistrusting of strangers. She often surprises her loved ones with drawings or gifts at random.

Eira is a Junior Walter Worker, specializing in AI Handling. She has worked with QWERTY and Beebop in the past, bonding much more with Beebop than QWERTY. Now her internship is over, and she has found herself bored, wanting to become an official Walter Worker.
