ok sorry to double reblog BUT I just looked him up and he does these fantastic videos where he breaks down HOW he actually mimics the other artists’ styles. Like for ed Sheeran, he explains how he brings his voice forward in the mouth, while Adam Levine sings in the back of the mouth, stuff like that. For those that are wondering, the context is that Katori (the guy in the glasses and lab coat) is an alien and this is his first day on earth.

The other guy is a police detective wondering wtf this nerd’s deal is.

As someone who was alive when Bob Ross (and William Alexander before him — that’s where the approach is from) was on PBS, I can 100% testify that you can paint along with him.

You may need to learn how to set up your paints and such… but this is what people did, live, while the show aired. That’s what the show was for. I had family members create lovely works of art they enjoyed, which I still have on my walls, because William Alexander and Bob Ross both said:

SCREW METICULOUS CLASSICAL ART PRACTICES — JUST GRAB A PALETTE KNIFE AND BIG OLD BRUSH AND PAINT!

They freed a whole generation of people who were taught to paint detail and realism and exact representation of reality — people who largely gave up this kind of thing because it got tedious.

I watched the joy of family members as they rediscovered art as a messy fun spontaneous half hour activity.

No, it’s even funnier!

He goes “вы заебали на советский автопром”, which is roughly “i’m fucking tired of you (getting) at the soviet car industry”. So he actually says “yall fucking wrong about soviet cars being bolt buckets!” and hits the car as proof of its durability and then it falls apart.

His intonatin gives off a slight hint that he 100% knows what’s gonna happen and is being sarcastic. So very likely he’s not even annoyed, he knows what’s about to follow, laugs about it, and then does it.

Which is even funnier!

I'm glad the facial expressions are coming across accurately! It can feel so absurd to say gosh I hope the torment maze removes some fire and rusty nails soon, but alas, sometimes that's all one can do.
