Anarchism abolishes private ownership of the means of production and distribution, and with it goes capitalistic business. Personal possession remains only in the things you use. Thus, your watch is your own, but the watch factory belongs to the people. Land, machinery, and all other public utilities will be collective property, neither to be bought nor sold. Actual use will be considered the only title – not to ownership but to possession.
Alexander Berkman, What is Anarchism? (via meatthawsmoth)
Your aunt was kind enough to make it for you SO YOU’RE GOING TO WEAR IT!
I hate the narrative of “we’re all doomed because of climate change” because not only is it unproductive and generally depressing, it’s not true. We can still prevent the worst from happening by reducing emissions.
Also, climate change wouldn’t immediately cause the end of the world. Animals will adapt if possible, and people will too. That isn’t necessarily a positive thing for most, but it’s not an immediate death.
It’s a question of mitigation or adaptation. We’re already being hit with the need to adapt. The question is what lengths we will go to reduce greenhouse gasses.
