tashi duncan’s whole life revolves around the fact that she is both devoted and disciplined to tennis but she can no longer play tennis while art is disciplined but not devoted and patrick is devoted but not disciplined and both of those things are glaring weaknesses that disgust tashi but she has formatted her life in such a way that these are the two people who are really in it and she really can’t let go because she’s chasing the high of watching them play together that one time a decade ago where she realized that together they could almost be as devoted and disciplined to tennis as she is

No one talks enough about Leo Valdez running away from his foster homes SIX TIMES between the ages of 8 and 14/15!! How bad does a place and people have to be that a CHILD thinks it’s better to be homeless and staving than staying in a house? I know for sure that he had one abusive foster parent but how many others??

Also everyone seems to skip over one very specific part Leo’s “humor hid the pain” quote. Did he not also say that he learned fast that making jokes USUALLY KEPT HIM FROM GETTING BEAT UP!! USUALLY!! That means tiny Leo got beat up so often he had to find a way not to and sometimes it didn’t even work! And that only (sometimes) kept him safe from other kids!

No adult cares about how funny a kid is. That also could have gotten him in worse trouble since some humor can be interpreted as sarcasm or back talk which adults definitely don’t like. Not that Leo could help it, he’s trying his best as a traumatized child.

Leo has been through literal hell as a child and still finds it in him to be kind to others and help his friends to the absolute best of his abilities. Even if it means death. I need people to start being nicer to him. Justice for my lovely boy. 💔
