Otacon was miserable trying to adjust to life in Alaska; too cold, the cabin is old and run down, takes three hours to get to the nearest grocery store, etc. But he was noticably less irritated whenever he showed Snake a new anime or something. Then Snake said he had a show he wanted Otacon to see, and they both sit down only for Snake to play his Northern Exposure season one DVD, and Otacon was like, "Oh okay, you do have a sense of humor."

When Otacon shows Snake something on his phone, Snake does that thing everyone's parents do where he takes the phone out of Otacon's hand, then holds it at a specific angle and squints to see whatever is on the screen.
