Ausra loved a good party, especially one next to water and that didnât involve sewing herself into a ball gown. It had taken weeks, but the rebuild was finally completed and it seemed everyone in Khatanga had shown up to the lake to celebrate. Glass of chardonnay in hand sheâd been talking to anyone and everyone she came across. They all seemed to be in such good spirits and with the promise of dinner with her sister to look forward to she didnât see how the day could get any more perfect. Saddling up to someone new she took a sip of her glass before grinning at them. âIsnât this just great? Iâm always so impressed by how even the simplest of events that the palace hosts end up so wonderful. The first one I attended was a garden party like this, crazy to think it was already over a year ago. Not gonna lie though, all that time and I still get lost in this place,â she said with a laugh.Â
Rasa seemed amused at the whole display. âSeriously, Dawn, over half a century weâve known one another, and you still think thereâs something I havenât seen?â she gestured an idle hand towards her sister, moving it around in the air for a few seconds. âBesides, thereâs nothing I havenât seen anyway,â her shoulders traveled with a shrug, but eventually, she acquiesced to the request and closed the door behind her with a click.
âBetter?â she wondered, although the way her eyes rolled said she believed it unnecessary. âI asked myself how long it would take until you came over to my room with a satisfied smile upon your face at the news that Eamon and I are bunking up together, but I suppose you had other plans,â she found herself teasing, and found herself a place to sit. âAnyhow, I havenât seen you in a while. I thought maybe youâd like to have dinner and catch up?â
âWell yeah, but what if someone walks by? What if itâs a boy and he sees me in my underthings!? With my luck Iâd end up the talk of the palace and itâd be horrendously embarrassing.â Her older sister didnât have reservations about such things, and in some ways Ausra envied that. Still, she wasnât about to start running around the castle naked in an effort to desensitize herself. When the door finally closed she finally exhaled and relaxed, though her arms stayed crossed over her chest. âMuch. Thank you.âÂ
Turning she headed to her closet to pull out something to wear while she listened to Rasa speak. âIt was certainly on my list, though I feel like it would have been weird if Eamon had been there when I did...â With a smile though she looked back at her sister. âSeems like things are going pretty well, so should I say I told you so now, or wait until later?â Laughing softly she pulled a short casual dress on before pulling out the matching blue sandals to complete the outfit. âWe should! I was planning to head down to the lake party for a bit, then we can go to dinner after? Youâre going to the party right? âCause the snow finally melted and I am for sure not turning down an opportunity to relax in the sun with a glass of wine.â Heading into the bathroom Ausra decided it was best to at least do a little bit of make up, especially if Frederic was going to be there. Thinking about him she blushed slightly at her reflection. âHey, weird thing, have you met the crown prince from Switzerland before?â she called back to Rasa, not sure if their parents had told her about the potential betrothal or if she had any information on him.Â
Ausra had been enjoying the party immensely. Coming from a northern country didnât mean she didnât enjoy warmer weather a a nice body of water to soak in. Looking at the woman next to her, that seemed to have an air of familiarity that she couldnât place, she couldnât help but grin. âIsnât this just wonderful? After all of the snow, an the avalanche, and everything that everyoneâs been through itâs so nice to finally be able to relax and enjoy everyoneâs company. I wonât lie though, I did enjoy the rebuilding phase. I had no idea so much went into building a building.â She paused a moment to chuckle. As a man walked by she reached out, grabbing a couple glasses of wine off a tray he was carrying. âTheir both white, sorry I didnât ask. You want one though,â she offered as she held it out.
With an irritated sigh, the Prince stood and crossed over to the door, pulling it open with a bit more force than necessary. The girl who stood there was familiar but the overwhelming sense of her nervousness drew all of his attention. Briefly he considered what his sister would say, or rather - how sheâd encourage him to act. And then decided he didnât care.Â
âWhat do you want?â Â
As soon as Frederic opened the door Ausraâs hands stopped fidgeting. Sheâd like to say it was because she was able to regain some semblance of composure, really though it was because he was surprisingly and stunningly attractive. She might have seen a picture or two in the past, but really, they hadnât done him any justice. Her five foot four stature suddenly seemed very short compared to him and she couldnât help but be intimidated a little bit.
His words pulled her from the slight daydream sheâd found herself in with a start. After a moment a smile settled back onto her lips as she formed a way to adress the question of why she was at his door. âUh...to meet you? I think that would be the most direct answer to the question you asked. Unless maybe you meant it more in the overarching sense of our potential future together, in which case, a mutual respect any many happiness's?â She was babbling again though, and after a soft, somewhat awkward laugh, she tried to restart. âI think Iâm getting a bit ahead of myself there. Iâm Ausra. Ausra Roze KavaliauskÄ, the Lithuanian princess whoâs name Iâm really hoping is ringing a bell, otherwise this is going to be a very awkward conversation.âÂ
Ausra had been stressed for the past few days, ever since she'd received the email from home. It seemed there were considerations being taken for a betrothal to the Swiss crown. Ausra had spent so many years thinking her parents would be too busy with her siblings to think about forging an arrangement for the younger middle child. Not to mention that it wasn't exactly like men were lining up to ask for the hand of the energetic princess that talks too much.
âLayingâŠon the groundâŠis very good for your spine?â Lilliana repeated as she walked in, seeing her laying on the ground. She didnât even know if she should join her in laying on the ground, even though it does look comfortable. With a shrug, she laid down next to her andâŠâGood lord,â she whispered, feeling much, much better now. âIt does wonders for the spine, doesnât it?â
âVery good actually! It helps straighten and reset it, which can ease a lot of pain or discomfort you have. Especially if you spend a lot of time bent over or with poor posture.â Grinning, Ausra watched the other woman lay next to her. Sheâd seen her around the village over the last months, but she couldnât say she really knew her. âIsnât it!â she asked excitedly, glad it had worked for her. âIâm Ausra by the way, or Dawn if you prefer if thatâs easier. From Lithuania. I donât think weâve met before, but Iâve seen you around.âÂ
A rare day off in the aftermath meant one thing for Gio: still helping with the rebuild of the castle. It wasnât like he had much else to do and if he chose to try and relax as people had been telling him to do his mind would wander to places he didnât want it going. It wasnât until one of the other guard practically forced him out of the west wing that he decided to sit down for a little bit, if only to appease others. As he passed one of the empty room he noticed the familiar red locks of the Lithuanian princess and grinned, moving inside to stand over her. âOh, Iâve learned that over the years. Sleeping on the ground is a beautiful way to set it straight.â Gio sat down next to her but didnât lay back, just placed his arms over knees and gazed down at Ausra. âI donât think Iâve ever seen a princess lay on the ground before. But then again, youâre not an ordinary princess. Thank god for that.â
âThank god for that?â she questioned with a laugh. She was glad it had been Gio that had walked in, it felt like it had been months since sheâd last seen him. âAnd besides, any princess that liked having a happy spine would lay on the ground more. Howâve you been by the way, I feel like itâs been forever.â With a little effort she lifted herself off the ground and spun to sit and face him. âIâve seen you around the west wing too, helping rebuild. I kept meaning to say hi, but they do keep you busy over there,â she said with a laugh.Â
It had been a long couple of weeks since the avalanche and Ausra had been staying busy with the rebuild effort. It seemed most didnât want an entirely untrained princess trying to rebuild a home. The Lithuanian was nothing if not persistent though and sheâd made use of herself wherever she could.Â
After a particularly long day sheâd been thawing her appendages out in a scalding shower for much longer than anyone really needed. It was soothing for aching muscles though, and she liked watching the water run down the glass sides. It reminded her of the serenity that came with rain. Finally emerging though, she hadnât been wrapped in her towel for more than five minutes before her bedroom door swung in with gusto. Ausra mustâve jumped five feet with a shrill scream before her senses caught up and she realized who was there. âFor the love of-! Just close the door already, Dew, before somebody sees!âÂ
It had been a long day already and it was only half way over. After checking her watch she frowned, realizing there was still so much more daylight to keep working. Still, she needed a moment, so she excused herself from assisting the rebuild effort in the west wing. Winding through the corridors she wasnât sure where she was going until she spotted an empty room with a large open floor. With a grin she walked in, hesitating a moment before she lowered herself onto the floor. It did wonder for her back, and as a plus, she wasnât tying up room on a sofa if someone wanted to sit. With a relaxed sigh she let her eyes drift closed. That was, until she heard foot step approaching. Craning her head back she grinned at the approaching figure. âItâs actually very good for your spine, laying on the ground that is. Would you like to join me?â
â In the past, people were born royal and for Ausra Roze KavaliauskÄ the TWENTY-SEVEN-year-old PRINCESS of LITHUANIA, that is a tradition SHE intends to keep. To others, SHE looks an awful lot like ZOEY DEUTCH and has been painted as QUIRKY & LOVABLE PRINCESS but behind closed doors, SHE is EASILY TRUSTING/MANIPULATED, & TALKS TOO MUCH but also CARES ABOUT EVERYONE & SEES THE GOOD IN EVERYTHING. It has also been said they are NOT CURRENTLY BETROTHED.

Behind the tiara...
Ausra is naturally a blonde, but she dyes her hair red. She says itâs because it âmakes her look cuterâ, which it 100% does. Also because she finds it fitting for both her first and middle name. Ausra means âdawnâ, Roze means âroseâ, both of which are commonly associated with warm red/orange tones.
Being the third in-line for the throne Ausraâs never worried much about having to take over the country, so sheâs always just kind of done her own thing. She stays out of trouble and goes to all the necessary political functions, but aside from her necessary classes she doesnât do much to forward her leadership or country knowledge.
Sheâs low-key innocent. Not in the âdoesnât know how the world worksâ sense, but in the very trusting and easily manipulated sense. She always sees the best in people and believes that they are good, and that can get her into a lot of trouble, especially heading to a fortress full of rebels. Sheâll give everyone the benefit of the doubt, even when itâs fairly obvious they donât deserve it, and she dreams of a world at peace where everyone can get along. A lot of people might count her as naĂŻve, but she disagrees. Ausra thinks thereâs beauty in everything and the world is a gray scale, thereâs no such thing as just good and just evil.
Never formerly diagnosed, but girl is pretty ADHD. She has a really hard time sitting still, often pacing while she speaks with someone whoâs sitting. And talking, good lord, this girl will talk your ear off. If you show even the slightest amount of interest sheâll tell you everything about her life, she doesnât know how to keep her own secrets. With that said, sheâd adamant about never giving away someone elseâs.
Ausra prides herself on her sense of humor. She figureâs sheâll never be super-model sexy, but she can be cute and funny, and she plays to those strengths. Sheâs even been known to drop a practical joke every now and again.
Sheâs super worried about her sister since the death of her husband. She doesnât believe she needs her vices; knowing her sister more than strong enough to make it through. She tends to come across a little clingy, but itâs just because she wants to spend time with her and hopefully see her get better and move forward.
Some Connection Ideas:
BetrothedÂ
He could be anyone from any country, crown or not. Sheâs never been one to look forward to that kind of thing, and sheâs never really thought about it happening to her. Her parents always seemed more focused on the love lives of her older siblings, to the point where she was convinced they wouldnât worry about marriage for her. Not to mention that she didnât always make the best first impressions and so far, no men are lining up to marry her. With Rasa betrothed now though, anything is possible, and for the first time, sheâs starting to worry about it.
Childhood Friend
They would be a staff member, or potentially a rebel, that spent a lot of time around the palace while they were growing up. The two would have bonded from a young age, then for whatever reason, they would have stopped coming around [school abroad, family moved, etc.] and are only now after years getting the chance to reconnect.
Cousins
Family members on her motherâs side. Likely from a country close by that Lithuania has a political alliance with. [Of course Sarah {Rasa} would be involved in the conversation too. Could be as close or not as weâd like to plot them to be.Â
