Plot Idea

The security of your world (police, army etc.) has special powers. When they finish their training, each one of them receives a magical necklace with an animal's shape engraved into the talisman. These necklaces carry the power of an animal and merge into their carrier's skin and can only be removed when the host is dead.

They can shapeshifter into that animal (the big cats of the wild, wolves, coyote, eagles, gorilla, bear and even extremely rarely a dragon, basically only the powerful animals). The hosts posses superhuman strength, senses, speed.

The talisman chooses the host, but the host has one chance of changing their talisman, only if they feel like another talisman is calling them.

After 200 years, the Golden Dragon (the largest and the most powerful of the 4 gragons) finally responds to a host, a 30-something year old officer who had a wolf's talisman until they came back from the dead. Their wolf's talisman left them when their heart stopped, but the medics brought them back and now the Golden Dragon is calling them in their dream as they are in a coma, lost their ability to walk because of a shrapnel stuck into their spine.

Person A's parent, who was the worst parent on earth in every way, was unconscious in their deathbed.

Person A: (in a hoarse, shaky voice, holding back tears) You were my worst and biggest monster. You were never proud of anything I've done in the past... You even always regretted having me as your child. But despite everything, I never hated you. Unlike you. You always hated me for things I haven't done. All I want... (a tear rolling down their face as their voice breaks) All I want is that I never end up being like you. (they walk out of the room wiping off their tears so Person B doesn't see them crying, but their eyes are all red)

Person B: (a big brother/sister figure in Person A's life, standing right outside the door.) It takes a great bravery to do what you just did, confronting.

Person A: But I still don't feel any better. (voice still shaky)

Person B: It gets better. You will feel better. Give it some time. (their eyes are also red and watery)
