Early start [closed rp]
Alex had gotten up to get ready for school, shuffling through her room to dig out some warm clothes for the cold day. Winter in Burgess wasn’t the most desirable but Alex had no problem putting on some extra layers to keep warm. She pulled out her black-and-grey sweatshirt from her closet, a scarf, a few hair ties, her phone and made her way from her room to the bathroom.
She shut the door behind her and grabbed the brush, dragging it through her messy hair before pulling the sweatshirt over her head. She fixed her auburn locks up into a messy bun and draped the scarf around her neck. She picked up her phone and opened up the texts from her friend, Jessica. 'Hey what time does school start? Is it late start today?' Alex texted and sent the message. She received a message back, reading 'We don't have school today. It snowed a lot last night so it got canceled. Guess you didn't get the memo.' The teen huffed, her brow furrowing frustratingly. So she had gotten up and ready for no reason? Well, if she was already ready she could go for some coffee.
She jogged down her stairs, finding her mom in the kitchen. “School is canceled,” Alex said, “I’m doing for coffee” Her mom looked up a moment, “Alright well make sure you’re warm.” Of course she was warm. She wasn’t stupid. With that, she was out the door, pulling her scarf tighter around her neck when the cold air hit her skin.
Jack smirked to himself, revelling in his work, he stood back, taking a moment to lean on his staff and watch people trudge out into the snow. "Ah, perfect." He grinned, dusting some of the flakes from his staff and jumping up. His favourite part of this was gliding about, darting past cars and people to admire the chaos he'd created.
Sure, snowday in spring or summer wasn't totally unheard of, but it was rare. And that's why they were his favourite. He'd noticed a lot of the kids looking pretty tired and bored lately, some new school rules about homework or something. And what was Jack, if not one to help the kids? He was the everlasting embodiment of fun, of course.
"Ye=heah!" He laughed, flying through the air and finally landing on a statue in the middle of the park. standing on the top of it. One foot on the very top, the other kicking the air as he grinned. "I mean, you're welcome." He stuck a hand in his pocket and looked out at the town." No thank-you necessary...I guess."
