Yuu based off from many system base, transmigrators, and world jumpers manwhas and manhuas i've read like: Goddess Creation System, Journey to the Past, and etc.
But the face claim is Xiao Wan (Feng Lian Wan/Yan Mo Ge) from a manhua Feng Qi Cang Lan.
Compared to Mermaid! Yuu (Yukari), despite having lived multiple lives as someone who technically is a IRL Method Actress due to her many quests, she's far more direct and less polite when she's herself. She doesn't much have the privilege to do so at every portal jump, since she would take over an unfortunate person and not break character. So you best believe she will take the opportunity to be herself unapologetically.

Arctic Ocean/Sea
Arctic Mermaid Kingdom is ruled by Princess Noel, Guardian of the Northern Sea.
The Castle is made of Glaciers and Ice, with one center large dome and two smaller once next to it.
Arctic Sea honors the stillness of the waters, the glaciers before them, the auroras, and the Northern Star.
The Ocean teaches you these values before it kills you first; endurance, survival, knowledge, silence, imperturbable and navigation.
Many of the Arctic aquatics can be messengers, but the most recognized are the Orca. often times, they are also the international messengers.
It's uncommon for an inflorescence blossom in the harsh conditions of the Arctic region.
Hence, it has been of the tradition that merpeople have, one must retrieve one of the blooms for your soon-to-be intended to propose.
Majority of the sea folk keep to themselves. But when in need of assistance— anyone will help.
Mermaids are more prevalent than Mermen.
Mermaids are often born from in ordinary shells or biological means, even with a human parent.
Depending on what day of the week they are born, will be assigned to which Ocean they will live at. Artic Merfolk are born on Thursdays.
They get drunk on carbonated beverages due to the fact that it's in their biology, they don't digest it like humans do.
They are particularly affected due to the fact that it isn't naturally geographic occurring waters unlike underground volcanic waters or hot springs.
They can't take hardened consumables due to their unique biology. This makes it harder for them to consume pills or hard crackers.
Civil-born merfolk can sing just fine underwater or in touch with water— but that's not the case on land. The only exception are the Mermaid Princesses, as their Pearl is the reason why. They are called Pearl-born.
Shell-born merfolk don't have a soul, and they only experience one lifetime and return to the ocean.
Sea-born merfolk have a soul if they are conceived from two merfolk parentage (regardless if they are a sea or shell-born merfolk). However, they will not return to the sea as a mermaid/man, but as an aquatic creature.
Tide-born merpeople have a soul if they are conceived with a human parentage (half or a third) and mer heritage. They will always reincarnate regardless if it's the sea or land.
All above are Civil-born merfolk, but specific. The only exception is Pearl-born, as they are the physical manifestations of their ocean's Pearl Tear to rule over the ocean for centuries.
Drifters are merfolk who are immigrants.
North Pacific Drifter, South Pacific Drifter, North Atlantic Drifter— you get the idea.
Majority are of mer and sea folk are Drifters because they migrate— only the Pearl-borns and Shell-borns are native to their respective oceans.
Merfolk ADORES shiny and interesting things, especially from the humanland. Arctic Mer aren't that far behind.
Pre "Kidnap"
Yukari "Yuu" Polaris of the Arctic Seas.
She's a Civil-Born mermaid.
She is NOT a mermaid princess.
She was born from a North Pacific father and Arctic mother (hence why she has a japanese name), making her a Sea-born Drifter.
She's an only child.
The 7 Mermaid Princess are already rulers to their respective oceans around this time period. (except Lushia isn't Aqua Regina's Heir yet)
The Dark Lovers broke Noel's Ice Castle— in the series as they were after her, while also causing casualties in their way. In which Yuu herself also witnessed. (hence survivors guilt)
She often isolate before and even more so after the war.
She's a frequent guest of the surface, especially in the evening where she can admire the northern stars and auroras.
Mermaid Form: Silver-Grey hair, Muted Blue Eyes, reflective iridescent tail.
Human Form: White hair and lilac eyes.
Her shell locket ice blue, with tiny pearls embellished, silver chain with lapis lazuli beads. always hallowed.
She doesn't go a lot on the human land, but when she does, she blend in easily. Still prefer the waters.
Aside from watching the starry sky, she also goes up the surface to skate on the cold hard ice.
Post "Kidnap"
Mermaids can feel each other's emotions, and the Patron Goddess of the Ocean, Aqua Regina heard her distress even worlds apart.
Her previously empty shell locket carries a Pearl Tear, Glacial Pearl, gifted by the Guardian Herself.
Unlike the shell locket of the mermaid princesses where they have wings at the side, hers stays the same. no wings, no four petal jewels— but it has a slot where the pearl lies.
Also, her pearl tear is not named after a color like the 7 pearl tears of the mermaid princesses— but it paid homage to her origins.
Her pearl tear is not colored— but like glaciers of the north, with ice-like cracks and patterns on the surface.
What Aqua Regina did is to ensure she survives in another world where she might not able to protect or watch over her directly. Especially with the fact that she can turn into seafoam at any moment and her soul will be no more.
Hence, why she sent her a Pearl Tear.
Mermaid Princesses aren't born directly from traditional means but from their Pearl placed upon a Shell Throne. Even if they do die, they will reincarnate as anew but still the same essence.
Yuu is the first civil-born mermaid that can hold and use a Pearl Tear.
She is still not a Mermaid Princess as she has no ocean to rule over, especially in Twisted Wonderland.
Her power is from the North Sea, Arctic Ocean or Here in Twisted Wonderland— she takes it.
As a mermaid, how can she swim in any bodies of water at an isolated academy without telling others she's a mermaid or else she'll turn to seafoam? she doesn't know. She's been using the old bathtub back at the dorm.
She never had carbonated drinks before.
Her mer and human form are the same as before.
When she's in human form, she doesn't smell like sea, she smell like snow forest.
But when she's in mer or melody form, she will smell like any seafolk. It's amplified when she uses Glacial Pearl. hers is like cold sea breeze, misty in a way.
Her soul is seen differently by the mirror.
She's a sea-born drifter from a sea-born north pacific drifter father and a shell-born arctic native mother. (won't emphasize too much on this dw)
So when she was swept away by the mirror, and had her soul read, she was in human form. To the mirror, her soul is hallowed and transparent like a wisp. No color, shape or form.
But that would be entirely different had she got her soul read if she had been in her merform.
Because she's a sea-born mermaid. She belongs to the sea. Her soul is dormant when she's in her human form. Only when she retains her initial form will her soul be unravel and sensed by the mirror.
She would more likely be sorted to Octavinelle if it had been the case.
As a Pearl holder that isn't a Pearl-Born mermaid, her mermagic is different from the 7 princesses.
It operates uniquely as she's an anomaly; she's a Civil-born, in another world, and NOT a Mermaid Princess.
She's every bit of a walking contradictions that somehow works.

Types of Yuus that went through my mind when I'm busy with school and work.
We have Dominion!Yuu- if you read the manga "Barajou no kiss" then you've already know what I'm talking about. But for ppl who didn't, here's a summary for it.
It's basically about a girl who has a rose pendant choker left by her 'father'. She was told that if she takes it off, she'll face punishment. Unfortunately, she indeed took it off by accident and lost it in the end. And by punishment, her father meant seeing monsters and others things.
Apparently, there are beings who are called rose princess and rose knights.
Rose princess, or formally called as Dominions, are ppl who have the bloodline or power to give orders to rose knights.
Rose knights are being who serves their Dominions, follow their orders and protect them from harm and other beings.
In order to do that, they have to bond or rather, acknowledge each other as Dominion and Rose knight. Rose Knight's also have cards from their respective colors. Red rose card, Blue rose card, White rose card, and etc.
If a Dominion kiss the card, the choose Rose knight will appear, awaiting their orders.
And the rest are basically in the manga. I'm sorry if there are any inaccuracies, I'm writing this down from memory. (Might edit this later)
Food wars!Yuu.- I'm sorry but as you can see, I'm already seeing knives flying- ahem.
Cooking is everything in food wars. It's literally called "Food wars". If you haven't watched or read it, I'll give you a brief summary
It's basically about a boy who keeps losing to his father in a cook-off or in this case, 'Shokugeki'. He attends one of the best culinary academy in order to gain experience and exposure and beat his father.
Unfortunately, or rather, fortunately for the mc, the academy is already chaotic and crazy to begin with. All cuisines, rival's and everything you need to be a chef is there. But it's a dog-blood school, aiming to be the top.
And that's all I can say.
Rimuru!Yuu- oh my god, the skills— ..haha.. yeah... are skills still considered as magic...? For all who's confused, I'll, once again, explain.
"I got reincarnated into a slime" is basically about a male who died while protecting his co-worker and his girlfriend (co-worker's). As a result however, he got reincarnated into a slime.
As his journey a slime starts, he has a skill called "Great Sage" and "Devour". Great sage is like an assistant google and devour is basically devour everything gaining it's skills and resources.
I don't think I can say anything more without risking spoiling this cause it's still on-going unlike the other two.
System!Yuu- there's gonna be a lot of manipulation here.
If you haven't heard or read. There's usually books about having a system and transmigrations. They usually have titles of each system. "Cannon fodder", "Side character", "Villain", and etc. Those type of titles only works on certain roles in the story they were given.
You see, they come to change or add more details to the story chosen by either the host or the system. The previous soul inside the person's or character's role's body, will have a regret or wish for the host to do. And it's usually depends on what kind of system they have because not everything has the same quests.
If they finish doing the quest, they will receive points. Those points usually needs to be saved up to make the host reach a goal. If they reached to a certain amount of points, they will get their wish come true or goes back their original life before they become a host and change their life.
But each system story is different, so whatever I've said here are from the books I've read.

Yuu knew that praying to Her Majesty Aqua Regina will be for naught. Stuck in another world where the ocean she's at is not the same as she knew— pretty sure she wouldn't be able to reach her at all.
Or so she thought.
No way.
No in all the 7 oceans WAY she's actually seeing this right.
What lays inside her usually empty shell-shaped locket is a pearl.

She officially hallucinating. She's losing it.
First she's stuck in another world, enrolled in an academy of an ALL-BOYS SCHOOL, that uses MAGIC (not that shocking aside from the fact humans also have it and BEASTFOLK???), with a talking CAT who has flaming ears!
Not only that, this school is also a mental health hazard with the fact they apparently go berserk and OVERBOLT-
Speaking of which, she's in the middle of one right now. She should not be fixated over the fact that her locket has a pearl tear. She should be focusing on escaping. or surviving.
Which of the either that get her out alive after this.
"—YOU MUST OBEY ME! I AM YOUR—"
—yet, she can feel the weight of her locket. which is ridiculous, as all her life, it's been nothing BUT heavy.
No, she's not delusional enough to think that she's a mermaid princess.
She isn't. She's not born from a mermaid pearl— heck, she has her own mermaid princess, Her Highness Noel! The one who rules over her kingdom? the whole Arctic Ocean??
But as she dodged another blast of magic (their magic far worse than what she has witnessed and she's not sure if she should be relieved or terrified by the thought), she felt the need to use it.
Use it?
Use a pearl tear? her? a civilian-born mermaid?
She officially lost it, Yuu thinks, as she moved to hide behind a bush in the Rose Maze.
"—I AM ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!"
She properly placed the pearl inside the locket and firmly closed it, her hands shaking as she whispering against it with her eyes squeezed shut.
She's officially insane, infected by this school's insanity.

'Please, Aqua Regina'. She begged, as the locket got hotter in her palm. Her heart pounding loudly inside her chest— too loud, Yuu feared that someone might hear her— except, she heard.. her

She saw white, as it engulfed her.

For as long as Yuu can remember, the Arctic Ocean has always been her home.
She was born here, she grew up here. she nearly died here.
Yet, she can't help but feel like she lost it on the very day the Dark Lovers successfully took over the Kingdom and captured her ruler.
Sure, the Mermaid Princesses from the Seven Seas won at the end and Princess Noel came back and rebuilt the Kingdom to how was it before—
Its just wasn't... home anymore. Not to her, at least.
it was the same merfolk — the orcas, sea angels, narwhals, whales and jellyfishes— it should be familiar right? or at least comforting, to see your fellow citizens is now safe and sound after the horrifying experience when the Dark Lovers took over.
But Yuu can't help but feel like she's wearing a mask, playing an act in a theater at the opera. Like an impersonator.
Everyone has been acting like everything is fine now— like the war they just went through didn't happen. A nightmare they all just woke up from.
Perhaps she would've thought the same if it weren't for the fact that she witnessed the death of many with her own eyes.
"Hide for your lives— Shit, behind the boulder and don't make a soun—" "Don't you dare touch them! You mons—" "Protect the whelps, Yuu..."
No, she can't do this. Surface. she needs to be at the surface.
And so, she's on the surface. behind a rock. watching the stars. away from the capital beneath the shore. because she can't handle it, again. Like a coward.
"...I think I understand why humans have addictions." Yuu mumbled, eyes on the night sky, stars brighter than usual.
Then, a brief glint of shine from the corner of her eye caught her attention. Curious, she swam towards the source, only to be entranced by the discovery of a mirror.
"Huh... did it got washed up here..? and it looked new too, not even a crack."
She noted as she carefully traced her fingers over the oval-framed mirror. She wonders if it's made of obsidian, considering it's not clear reflection that silver base does. The frame is rustic gold, with spirals and twists that adds to the charm.
And like any merfolk, they hoard any shiny objects.
But before Yuu can properly take it from the rough rocky terrain, a voice startled her.
“Ah, my lovely Lord,
The noble and beautiful flower of evil,
You are the most beautiful, number one in this world.”
Yuu flinched, as her world spun and its only her and the mirror before her. The cold yet coaxing voice echoed, as the surroundings dimmed and darkened.
"— Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the most...
—For thee, guided by the Mirror of Darkness,
Follow thy heart and take the hand of the one reflected in the mirror."
Scared. Yuu was scared, alerted and has goosebumps, as she was frozen in place, heart racing, she can hear it in her ear. She can see a hand appear in the mirror, offering.
"Flames that turn even stars into ashes,
Ice that imprison even time,
Great tree that swallow even the sky,
Don't be afraid of the power of darkness,
Come now, show your power."
—Stars? is that why this happened?! She shouldn't have come to the surface— she should've known better than to leave her home regardless how much it hurts to be reminded—
"Mine, theirs, and yours,
There's only little time left for us.
Do not let go of that hand, at all costs."
and suddenly, she was losing consciousness. Fast. Darkness took over her vision, as she disappeared from the ocean, not even a scale left behind, as the green ember in the mirror only pulsed, before it dimmed to nothing.
A single wave crashing over the mirror and the rock— before the water pulled back, and now gone.
—Why is she running from a talking cat? why is she in human form?? why does the cat want her clothes??? WHY IS THE CAT HAS FIRE ON ITS EARS???? ARE BOOKS SUPPOSED TO FLOAT?!WHERE IS SHE!?!?!?
"Ha! You thought you could escape the Great Grim!"
Yuu has been biting her cheek it's about to draw blood by how hard she bit it. Shes been hoping— praying to Aqua Regina for mercy. to make this all a nightmare—
"—NYAHH! What's with this thing? Let me go!"
—She officially lost it, Yuu thought, as she froze at the sight of the flaming eared talking cat wrapped by a whip. This nightmare is officially out of hand.
Someone wake her up. Please.

As long as you write, you are practicing your craft and you are getting better at writing. But you will never get anywhere if you let AI write for you.
every day I learn bot comments on ao3 are stooping lower and lower
anyway if you get a comment like this, chances are that they are bot and their goal is to do whatever it takes to get you to delete your work, most certainly (from what I’ve heard) it’s because they want to “safely” steal your work, use it to train their ai without you being able to rightfully claim ownership of your work since “there’s no proof that the work was stolen/was posted elsewhere first by you” because the original source has already been deleted.
THEY ARE ALL BOTS. at first it was “ao3 is deleting fics and your entire account will be affected unless you delete the fics yourself” then it was “this work contains contents that are illegal and they have already reported you and your fic to the police” (yes, that’s how desperate these bots are), and now it’s this.
report their comments to ao3 for spam—in this case, specifically, I think you may be able to report them for harassment too—and don’t pay attention to them, most importantly don’t delete your works, don’t feel discouraged by their comments. remember that they are bots and they mass comment something like this on people’s works at random to get people to delete their works. (or even if they’re not bot, they are still pathetic bullies who don’t deserve your time or attention.)
