What about a headcanon where Cerus splits into three people because of a potion accident, with one for each different voice in his head. Everyone is like âOh god there's three of themâ and completely mortified. Meanwhile reader is the only one who actually tries to help and isnât scared of them.
Sorry for the wait and here's it is and what they would be called when spilt into three different people.
Second Head (Instinct): Kostas
Third Head (Emotion): Aion
The potion accident happened because of a combination of three things:
1. One of the student's experimental psyche-stabilizer potions
2. Cerus running on three hours of sleep
3. Grim knocking an entire canister of volatile reactive powder into the mix
The explosion shook the alchemy room.
And when the smoke clearedâŠ
There were three Ceruses standing there.
Everyone in alchemy immediately had the exact same reaction.
"Oh god, there's THREE OF THEM?!"
The atmosphere in alchemy became pure survival horror.
Because somehow, separating Cerus made each version more intense.
Ceru is the calmest-looking one which somehow makes him the scariest. He's dressed immaculately compared to normal Cerus, his hair tied back slightly, posture straight, expression unreadable. His mechanical eye is constantly open now, flickering with data analysis.
He speaks in a measured monotone like every sentence is a carefully calculated equation.
"Your heart rate elevated by 17% when Yuu approached Reader. âŠYou are therefore classified as a stressor."
He doesn't yell, he doesn't threaten and he just quietly starts updating security protocols.
Everyone notices immediately that Ceru is the one handling:
Reader's protection spells
He already had backups of backups.
Within two hours of existing separately, he somehow: upgraded Readerâs room barriers, encrypted their phone and blocked half the school from entering a 20-foot radius without permission
When questioned, Ceru simply adjusts his gloves and says: "They have demonstrated suspicious behavioral inconsistencies for months." Then he hands over a 147-page report and nobody asks questions after that.
Ceru is actually very polite.
Only Reader notices he subtly leans toward them whenever they speak.
And if Reader pets his hair?
His entire body visibly freezes for a second before he blushed. "âŠPlease continue."
Kostas â The Instinct Head
Kostas is the reason nobody survives the first day emotionally. He's all instincts with almost zero restraint, massive, growly, constantly baring fangs and his tail lashing like an agitated predator.
The moment he split apart, half the students instinctively backed away because his aura screamed apex predator. Unlike Ceru, Kostas openly acts like Reader belongs with him. Not in a cruel way, but in a "guard dog who imprinted on one person" way.
He physically shadows Reader everywhere, growls at people standing too close, wraps his tail around Reader unconsciously, rests his chin on their shoulder and sniffs them constantly to check for unfamiliar scents and the second he smells another person on Reader? Low growling and Immediate glaring. "Who touched you?"
Poor Deuce nearly passes out when Kostas corners him against a wall after Reader smells faintly like Heartslabyul roses.
Kostas just stares down at him with glowing eyes and asks: "You upset them again?"
Deuce looks like heâs about to meet the Great Seven personally.
The funniest part is that Kostas is actually easiest to calm down. Reader just scratches behind his ears, holds his face and tells him he's a good boy. And this nearly 7-foot hellhound immediately melts, tail wagging so hard it knocks over furniture.
At one point, Reader falls asleep in the Ignihyde lounge and Kostas literally curls around them on the floor like a giant guard dog.
Nobody dares wake either of them.
Aion â The Emotion Head
Aion is the one that genuinely devastates everyone emotionally because he's the version of Cerus that stopped hiding how deeply hurt he actually is. He's softer spoken, exhausted looking and his ears droop whenever he's upset and he's the most openly affectionate toward Reader but also the most emotionally vulnerable. Aion is the one who quietly admits things normal Cerus never would.
Like how badly the bullying affected him, how terrified he is of abandonment and how much it meant when Reader saved him from overblot
The first time Reader hugs him, Aion literally goes still Then his eyes start watering. "âŠYou're not scared of me?"
Reader answering: "Why would I be?"
After that, Aion becomes attached at the hip.
He follows Reader around silently carrying things for them: bags, books, jackets and snacks
He remembers every tiny preference Reader has and unlike the other two, Aion openly sulks when jealous.
If Reader talks about another person too much: his ears flatten, tail slows and eyes dim slightly. He wonât say anything directly instead he just quietly asks: "âŠAm I bothering you?" which makes Reader immediately grab his face and reassure him for the next ten minutes.
Everyone Else's Reactions
Idia is one stress-induced panic attack away from death.
"This is literally my worst nightmare."

Ceru especially keeps staring at him judgmentally for the cyberstalking incident. Idia has never felt more observed in his life.
Ortho thinks the phenomenon is fascinating.
Right until Kostas growls at him for getting too close to Reader.
Then Ortho slowly backs away. "Noted! Maintaining safe distance!"
Deuce cannot survive the disappointment combo.
Normal Cerus judging him was already awful.
Now there are THREE disappointed Ceruses.
Kostas looks ready to bite him.
Deuce is spiritually collapsing.
All three Ceruses distrust Yuu.
Kostas reacts aggressively to their presence.
Aion notices how uncomfortable Reader becomes around them.
They become terrifyingly efficient.
Yuu once tried approaching Reader in the hallway.
Three massive figures immediately appeared behind Reader like a boss battle.
Even the NRC students got chills.
Everyone expected Reader to fear them after the split, but instead, Reader adapts almost immediately.
Ceru likes head pats while working
Kostas needs physical reassurance
Aion needs verbal reassurance
Reader is the only person all three trust completely.
And for the first time in their livesâŠ
The three voices in Cerusâs head feel understood separately instead of treated like something âwrong" which is exactly why, when the potion eventually wears offâŠ
Cerus quietly asks Reader: "âŠWould it bother you if I still talked like they're here sometimes?"
And Reader just smiles and pets his ears. "Not at all."
His tail wags so hard it almost knocks over the table.
